I would like to be able to scan items I'm adding to a recipe. Is there something I'm missing?

If you are in the US, the bar code scanner now requires a paid subscription.0

Paid subscription is not the solution. There isn’t an option to scan a bar code when adding ingredients to a recipe. Same with adding something to My Foods.0

Ah, I haven't looked for a bar scanner in forever. I so rarely repeat meals that I haven't used the recipe option in years. That being said, if the bar scanner was an option for recipes, it would still be a premium service for US users since using it for anything has been changed to premium.

If you use the Meal functionality (and have premium), you can scan foods. I've never liked the recipe builder, I find Meals a lot more convenient.1
