You say you want a revolution
I would love to know your thoughts about our country's frame of mind. I've watched a few more documentaries lately and will leave them at the bottom in case any of you are interested.
We now have shows like Biggest Loser, Dancing with the Stars, Dance your *kitten* Off, Dr. OZ, a critical focus in our national news related to the current and future costs of healthcare as well as the evolution of today's internet allowing for a massively growing site like MFP, calorie calculators, more organic brands in stores such as Wal-Mart, expanding food and supplement stores like GNC, Whole Foods; heck even Disney is getting in a little conversation piece with Wall-E.
We have more publicized "walks-for": Breast Cancer, Diabetes, Prostate Cancer, Lung Cancer, etc.
Do you think that America has become tired of being considered the fattest country in the world? Is there something in the air that could shift the paradigm? Are more people aware and willing to take accountability for their health?
I'm still concerned about our government's take on these issues. One minute several state legislates are passing laws against trans fatty foods at restaurants and demanding lower sodium content at restaurants. The national government, as we all know, has ordered that fast food restaurants display the nutritional information on their products. These are all initiatives that seem to say we are headed in a certain direction, or that the government wishes to lead us in a certain direction. Then I watch the Chicago news and find out that there is a bid to allow food stamps to be honored at fast food restaurants. Interesting twist, I think, and very counterintuitive.
Certainly, it must come down to the population. Do you think there is a an epiphany brewing in our nation's people; one that is as close to home and as personal as it gets?
Interesting Documentaries (and suggested many on Netflix)

Acutally, I was singing the song; in my head in the background while I was typing. hahaha!0 -
Well you got me singing the song!! lol I don't know what I think about what's going on. I don't like the idea of the government telling restaurants what they have to do. It's nice to have the nutritional info out there, but not how they cook things. They are important and we need them, but I think they are getting too big, getting into too much. I'm not really part of any particular party...I don't think they there is just one party I fit into. I don't really know as much as I should maybe. :-) But I do think they are better things they can be spending time and money on.0
