Hi my name is Nick. I have been back and forth with my journey for a few years now. My journey was very successful when I first started a few years back then life happened, got depressed, I moved and it's been so hard to stay consistent.
Fast forward to yesterday. I have had a hernia for a year and a half now and I finally decided to get it checked. Surgeon said I have to drop my BMI before they can operate. So I have to lose weight so I can get this done. I want to get back to lifting heavy again which I have put on hold because of the hernia.
Long story short, I am currently 315 lbs and need to drop down between 250 - 275. I know what must be done, but I am hoping to meet some folks that will hell keep me on my toes. That is what made MFP so great before, was that I was able meet like minded folks that wanted support and wanted to return support. So I'm hoping to do it again. Add me and let's get to know eachother.

I understand completely. My surgeon told me the same thing for my ventral hernia.
I'm determined to drop the 30 pounds (at least) needed to get on the surgery list.
What I do is every morning before brushing my teeth, is look at the bulge in the mirror and try to reduce it by pressing it with my hands. This seems to make it less abstract, and something I can use to focus on during the day when I think about "just one small snack".2
