The 'Private Groups' Can't come fast enough in my opinion. The "PG-13 really means G rated" stuff is too much for me.

Question....how many people will be allowed in a group?

Not sure yet - we'd like to not have any limits at all but I'm not sure if that will be technically feasible. We may start with 1,000 people and see how that goes.

Maybe Mike will clarify. I've seen that they will be 'much more tolerant' to users within the 'private groups'

We're not entirely sure on the rules yet, but the intent is that groups will be more permissive than the main forums. They will not, however, be "anything goes". So no hate speech, no child pornography, etc. are some clear examples of some of the limits we'll set.

Many of the topics we've been locking recently will be allowed in groups, although perhaps not all. But again, the intent is to try to allow as much as possible.

We're still working out the details, and I'm also sure the rules will change over time as we learn more about some of the issues groups both solve and introduce. But the idea is to have groups allow people who are more "like-minded" to communicate more freely without offending or being bothered by people who disagree.

I like this and can live with it (good for me right? ☺) I wanted to point out that I don't mind differing opinions but most times those opinions are only shared by one or two people on a thread of 20 or 30 people and that's when things breakdown and the trollin' starts..

This place has gotten to be ridiculous lately.

If someone so much as even says fart on here, people are screaming blood, guts, and nuts. I loved MFP last year before all of the whiny babies got on here.
