70lbs down! Don't give up!

I just want to let anyone who is struggling or feeling defeated know that it's perfectly normal to have good days and bad days. There were times that I plateaued and got angry (and I know I will plateau again, but I need to remember how far I've come.) There were times everything hurt because exercise was hard on me and I got frustrated and wanted to quit. There were days that I lapsed and didn't have a calorie deficit. There were days I wanted to just be lazy... for days. The thing I didn't do was give up completely. Each day I woke up knowing that I only had myself to blame and if I wanted to get healthy and lose weight, I had to work for it. I've lost 70lbs and I'm not stopping, but I will have days where I just don't feel up to it and that's ok. I'll get there as long as I don't quit. YOU CAN DO IT! One day at a time.

70 pounds is great! I’m in a similar situation. I lost 98 pounds and weight loss has slowed down. I cannot make my diet/ calorie intake any better/lower so I added weightlifting and lite cardio to get the weight moving again. I stayed focused by finding what people here refer to as NSVs. Continuing to lower my blood pressure, blood sugar, and keeping up with my measurements (weight loss slowed but I was still losing inches off my stomach and waist)…that type of thing. Keeping your head in the game is soooo important. I always liked the saying “train your brain…where the mind goes the body will follow.”
All the best and be well,

Thank you for the insightful post; it's genuinely motivating. Initially, I managed to shed 84 lbs, but in May, I underwent a procedure to remove an ingrown toenail, leading to a period of inactivity. Regrettably, I gained 18 lbs during this time. Now that my toe has fully healed, I've resumed walking—up to 3.2 miles a day—and have also incorporated gym sessions into my routine. This has enabled me to lose weight again, bringing my total weight loss to 74 lbs. The added physical activity has not only improved my physical well-being but has also had a positive impact on my mood and sleep quality. Posts like yours serve as a valuable source of inspiration, reinforcing the belief that achieving weight loss is indeed feasible. Thank you for the encouragement.6

I am impressed with the weight loss you all have achieved. I am on a mission to try to lose 50 pounds in a six month period so I will be able to have surgery. I will try to limit my carbs to a bare minumum and eliminate sugar completely.3
