Hi, About a month ago I decided to try the Carnivore diet, I was able to maintain it for about 2 weeks, then it started morphing into carnivore / extreme keto, I'm a type 2 diabetic and before I started this i was 266 # and my blood sugar 260, got on scale at doc's office on thursday and was 252# and blood sug was 135, I've done keto in past and failed over time, but coming at it from another angle - something more extreme than keto (carnivore) made keto much more manageable, almost feels like im cheating ha. its funny the mind games we can play on ourselves. But whatever works, plenty of videos on youtube about carnivore and keto and potential health issues, I'm sticking with it, I know the weight loss will slow since keto does involve some carb intake, but the sugar cravings are for the most part gone or at least easily managed, also no bloating from the flour products. thx for letting me bend your ear. Dave

Stick with what works. So many people here have cured themselves of T2D by losing weight, that I anticipate you will, also.3

Thanks Dave, agreed.
Hey, hope you don't mind I hop on here. I am 1 week into Carnivore coming from Keto. I am an extreme foody. (Good Food, not any food). I cook and like making new things. I am going to stay Carnivore for 2 weeks to a month and then transition back to Conservative Keto. I am looking for rapid, but well nourished weight loss. I am borderline T2D and my glucose on both is better than it's been in years. The foods Keto allowed me to make and eat were more than enough for me. I may stray to make homemade pasta in the future, which I love, but only on the rarest of occasions.
I am not advocating Carnivore or Keto over anyone else's beliefs or eating preferences. So I don't want to get into heated discussion about it. I have done extensive research, and most importantly, it feels great, FOR ME.1 -
I've been mostly carnivore for most of 2018 because I feel better that way. It helps with stable BG and appears to improve my arthritis pain. It's a nice option for people to try.
There are a few others around MFP, including strict carnivores, that you can find in the sub forums or the Low Carber Daily or keto groups. I'm not completely carnivore. I drink coffee and tend to have small amounts of plants every week or two as tolerated.1 -
HI, I'm 65. was doing Keto (first clean then dirty), for a couple of years. It did everything it promised except I was not loosing weight. so now I've gone Carnivore. been on it for 1 month. once again, it does everything it claims except lose weight. All the experts say "don't count calories", but that's where I am now. I have begun counting calories. Now we wait (or weight)!1

It doesn't matter what you eat. If you're not in a calorie deficit you won't lose weight. Simples. Some people feel full quickly on some ways of eating and lose weight due to that. Others don't.1

Good job. I have been doing Keto since April due to blood sugar issues, and at this point I can't say it has been particularly difficult to stick with except for making the time to cook food. There are times, like today, when there is cake on the counter that is calling to me when I find it exceptionally difficult. I am not rigidly keto in that on special occasions I will eat a meal that is not keto at all such as when we had a combined birthday celebration for myself, my wife, and my son and went to an excellent sushi place. I went right back to keto eating after that, and was back into ketosis in a couple of days.0

Hard to say why you decided to do keto for 2 years then switch to carnivore for a month and now decided to count calories because you didn't lose weight, why did you wait so long when weight loss seems to be your priority? What are the "everythings" both diet claim to do, curious minds would like to know.0
