Couldn't you say I was unknowingly celebrating?

Will your routine change now that you know this vital piece of information?

Did you both celebrate by taking a hike?
Would you consider running and walking on a treadmill because it's raining outside to be "taking a hike" and celebrating? Can I chalk up the 14 oz of Häagen-Dazs vanilla Swiss almond ice cream I devoured last night to celebrating national hiking day? 🤭😋🤭

On National Hiking Day, is it still an insult to tell somebody to "go take a hike?"

Wouldn’t it call for context if you didn’t want to come off as rude?

Since when do social media posts ever use "context"? Aren't they SUPPOSED to come across as rude and abrasive, until the original author condescendingly explains how the reader is "supposed to read" it? Isn't that why most social media platforms the world over are the way they are? (Could this also explain why I use zero social media except for MFP?)

Don't we have more in common than you would think as this is also my only social media outlet?

And isn’t it a good thing @cmsienk and @frankwbrown know that if I used “take a hike” in the other way, it would be gentle teasing?

@cat0703a, you know you can feel free to tell me to "take a hike", right?

Isn't it the case that the better you know someone, the less likely you are to misunderstand their intent? Don't I recall an email I sent at work being taken as an insult by one person when in fact I was admonishing a second person for doing a task rather than showing the first person how to do it? 🤷‍♂️

Why do you think the saying is, “take a hike” and not “go for a run”? 🤔

Is it because "go for a run" has a positive connotation while "take a hike" has a negative connotation? Or does "take a hike" have a negative connotation because of the way we use it?

Can we start a new one? How about “Do a 30 min HIIT workout”?

Depending on the company, wouldn't "take a HIIT" spark some confusion?

You do know I live in Colorado, right? Wouldn't my son have a VERY different interpretation than I would when told the same thing?

And I suppose there are several ways to interpret "Rocky Mountain High" as well? 😂

Were you back to 100% in time to enjoy Thanksgiving?
  • nossmf

Maybe not 100%, since I settled for one plate of food instead of three, but aren't I lucky I fell ill on the Monday before, instead of waiting for Tuesday or later?

    Are you feeling better?
A Break? From MFP, sure, wasn't I gone for a couple months? Won't I be gone again soon for another month?

Haven't I been working really long hours in Barcelona and drinking less than stellar coffee while many of you are still sleeping?
