My data disappeared

So why did 3/4 of my data just disappear out of nowhere? I had my own categories assigned that I made like 15 years ago and edited as needed. Now it has breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack. And everything else is just.... Gone.
Sounds like time to find a different app if this was intentional. (Technical difficulties, no problem. Intentionally jacking the data of people who have been using the app for 20 years to try to force people to pay for premium, nope. Plenty of other nutrition tracking apps. Hell I kept using this after getting a Garmin, whose app does the same thing. But if this was intentional, I guess it's Garmin for me.)

Thanks guys! I'm a nerd, I get technical issues. Things happen. It's back this morning. I've seen a lot of this kind of thing where people screw with existing data or features to try to basically annoy people into upgrading. And as a nerd, I despise that kind of manipulation. No one has to have a free version. But when there's a free version and then they try to aggravate longtime users into paying, that's just effed up. I'm glad that (apparently) not what happened!!!0

The original tool dates back to 2005 - so you haven't been using it for quite 20 years. Close, though! Lots of ownership changes and the variety of apps has probably made it pretty challenging to maintain functionality at this point.
I haven't seen them take anything major away other than the barcode scanner (which is lame anyway) and the ability to see your past data any further back than a couple years. Also not a dealbreaker for me
I've been on the site since 2007. Even with all the little glitches it is still the easiest and most comprehensive database, plus I have that many years of my own entries into said database and don't want to start over. Usually any glitches get fixed in a couple days. Not always, I mean they did mess up a bunch of the original admin-entered items, but there are workarounds.
YMMV, of course.1
