Feeling Stuck

I’ve been on my journey since October starting out at 170lbs. December 21st I weighed in at 151lbs just about 10lbs from my goal weight & here comes Christmas. I admit I stopped tracking my calories during Christmas & I did eat a few foods I wouldn’t eat on my diet, & here I am a week later & I’ve already gained 13lbs back which I didn’t expect at all. I feel so sad and defeated.

    It is possible that much of your recent weight gain will be transient, if your recent eating has involved a lot more carbohydrates that you had been eating previously on your diet. More carbohydrates than usual will cause more water weight than usual.

    In any event, don't give up. Just start tracking again, get back to a calorie deficit and move on. You will reverse the gain with time.

    There is no need to feel defeated. It is a bump in the road, and your journey will continue. You can be successful if you stick with it.
