Big wins start with small steps! 💪 Swap tips and motivation with other 2024 goal-getters.
It can be tempting to try to overhaul your whole diet and routine in the new year, but big, sudden changes aren’t usually the ticket to lasting change. Achieving your bigger goals—like losing weight or hitting a fitness milestone—can be a lot more manageable if you start small. What small steps are you taking to make your big dreams a reality?
Share your tips, advice, and encouragement in the comments below.
What small changes are you making this year to improve your health?
What have you learned about yourself as you’ve begun to log and build small habits?
What advice do you have for other people starting their “small steps” journey?
What tips would you like to get from other members in this discussion?
And one more thing…
If you’re here because you completed MyFitnessPal’s Small Steps Plan, congratulations! We hope you’re inspired to add a few of these healthy habits to your routine…and that they add up to some BIG WINS this year.

I am going home to visit my family and friends in England for Easter, and I desperately need to lose 25 lbs before I go. It has been 5 years since they last saw me, and they are going to be shocked at how much weight I have gained. I am ashamed of myself yet can't seem to stop eating.166

Hi all,
This app has helped me lose a lot of weight over the years...if only I didn't have to re-lose weight. Well I lost 41 lbs last year ...and 37 a few years before that. Now I'm up 17. I'd really like to lose 25-35 this time around.
I'm all signed up for a half marathon in a few months but the weight is really hurting my joints. I believe though!
Friends would be great if you want to send me a request. I've met some super people on here.
Best of luck to all of you. I should be a pro by now, but knowing and executing are two different things.93 -

Hi, so happy to see a lot of fellow health warriors here. Trying to better myself and lose 30 lbs. Being at perimenopause makes it extra challenging but I’m here for it. My small steps started with maintaining calorie deficit (counting calories and macros), quick pilates with strength training and increasing my steps. Slow and steady builds the habit. Let’s do this! Rooting for everyone’s success!!!26

Hi I've been a member of MFP for a few years I've not had much success that's because I sabotage myself. I'm here trying again. I fell for my high porch about 2 years ago and since then I have gained 40 pounds. I am now currently in physical therapy trying to get my legs strengthened up so I'm looking for support and help to lose weight to help with my joints on my knee before I have to have a knee replacement. I need support I just started the plan yesterday. So need to some big changes a little at a time and I'm starting with the biggest one sweets I'm a sugarholic so if anyone has any suggestions or comments I'm opened to them. I hope we all have a wonderful year of weight loss. I'm also going to be a grandma in July and I want to be able to chase after the baby when it's old enough to walk because I'm going to babysit as mom and dad works.31

Hello everyone: it’s 2024 Happy New Years and I’m back at it again presently I reside in the Bronx I have about 50lbs left after a slip and fall I put on a significant amount of weight. I’ve invested in a treadmill and a cycling bike, but my injuries are still limiting me. I’m looking for an accountability partner, associate, and friend because depending on the process 50lbs. Might take a minute. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤗 but seriously, I’m committed to getting to my desired weight of 135.30
