40s guys and gals please join me!!
I had success using this app before losing over a stone and walking 10000 steps a day. Then had a bereavement so eaten and drunk waaay too much .
I’m ready to start again and feeling positive for 2024 . I live in the West Mids, 43, currently 12.7 😟

I'm definitely back on trying to shake this weight. Have about 20kg to lose. Could use some motivation for the journey ahead. I literally have no excuses. Just have to get it done.3
-
I jumped back in with both feet on the first, spent to long pissing about
Used to weigh 27st 6, currently weigh 16st 11 but would like to not alarm people on holiday in may 😂
I bought a 90 day weight loss journal to have something to do with my hands in the evening and planned to hit up national trust places to walk all week....... Pissing it down here today so I'm going to do a Leslie sansone walk at home video in a bit3 -
I have a friend in Ireland and she needs to lose stones, and I need to lose lbs. We also have to translate our temps because I use Fahernhiet and she uses Celsius. Wherever we're from, we all face the same challenges. I'm back to where I was in July of 2022, so starting all over again. I keep gaining and losing the same weight ever since I quit smoking when I was 40. I'm now 69. You would think I would learn. Good luck everyone. We can do this. OOps, I just realized this thread was perhaps for ladies in their 40s? Sorry I jumped in!5

Hiiii!
Me too!
I was 9st 5 and after being put on medication…I gained 2 stone and I am now 11 stone 5 and have a cruise in May 🙈
I was at my happiest at 9st 5 x
I did start in September 23 and lost 10lb…but I gave up…but I thought you know Christmas was coming I wanted to eat and be merry!
So now I’m back on it
Had a nice day yesterday as we had buffet food at work but I ate it in moderation and within my calories just did myself a little plate on my break
So I’m being good this year!
I did try IF before and lost the weight we’ve brought loads of gym stuff for home too which helps xx
Good luck xx4 -

Hi, that’s the problem with some medications, why can’t it do the opposite? Ive stuck to my calories today and done 12000 steps so good start to the year, gym tomorrow 🤔 x1 -

How did you get 12000 steps in one day?0
-
I need some encouragement with consistency. I usually do good for a couple of weeks then stop.0
-
Have 3 to lose myself! Let’s do this 😁0

Happy New Year everyone !! We can do this. I am in the USA and so far, it appears I have the most to lose. I currently weigh 336.8 lbs or 24 stones if my conversion is accurate. My gain is to eventually get to 240 lbs / 17 stones.
I know I can do this with a little support! Today, I did 7000 steps. It is not a lot but it is a start !!
We can do this!!!8 -

Start with one. Then ten. Then 100. Then 200. Pretty soon, you'll have walked 5.5 miles (about 12,000 steps).1 -
250 steps an hour takes about 3 minutes. Over a day just getting up for these 3-5 minutes per hour can help you bag 3,500 steps!
Each half hour of deliberate walking.... when first getting up, before leaving for work, after arriving early at work, at lunch time, before leaving work for the drive home, before or after dropping off the kids at school, before or after picking them up, when out shopping, before or after dinner, before going to bed.... each half hour you manage to squeeze in a walk it could be good for another 2500 to 3000 steps.
They ALL count.
You don't have to put on the track suit and use special equipment in order to add some meaningful movement to your day*
*assuming you ARE physically able to; because yes, some people aren't physically able to; but that's not the majority.
For myself becoming more active was a deliberate decision. At times hard fought for. Leading to changes in my life. And it was a catalyst to vastly improving the quality of my life over these past almost 10 years.3 -
Hi there! 40s f with about 20lbs to lose (1.4 st). I’ve use this app in the past and it worked really well. I’m a little disappointed that the barcode for scanning food doesn’t work anymore unless you purchase the premium program. Oh well, I am just gonna stick with the basic one for now, unless I think I need the other..2

Easy, didn’t have my car today so i had to get the train to work and walk.. Walked around on my lunch break then walked around the shops after work. Took the long way home rather than the short cut. It does add up

Yeah after a few weeks of doing IF I kind of lose the hunger pang, its the evening that's the hardest. Sometimes a glass of water with a pinch of Pink Himalayan salt helps cravings and yes an early night also helps.0 -

If you can get out and walk, even short multiple walks then it's a good way to get the step count up
Alternatively I do the walk at home videos on YouTube as we've had a storm here, I did the 5k video yesterday and plan to do one today too1 -

7000 is a lot Hun if your not used to it
When I weighed 387lb 500 steps was a lot for me as I couldn't walk unaided.
I'm currently 234 and on a bad pain day can't do anywhere close to 7000.
Don't diminish your accomplishment by measuring yourself up to others. Be proud of what you've done and aim to improve a little at a time and you'll get there6 -

I got 19000 in today but I work in a hospital so I get my steps in 3 times a week xx
Take a walk I used to do about 10,000 walking to my local park and walking around it as long as u get 10,000 steps in a day it’s pretty good x

Hello. Same weight and I work in the West Mids (Bham)0
-
I’d love to join you, manage to gain 3.5 stone over the last 18 months after being at my goal weight for about the same amount of time (the longest in my adult life).
I started yesterday at 14st 2, target is 10st 10. I know when I’m there I feel great, I can move my body the way I want and don’t worry about how I hold myself or what I wear.
I have hit peri menopause and lack of motivation, aches and pains and cravings have meant my weight has been creeping up all last year. I now have patches and the motivation to do something about it!
I’m hoping to post a weekly update in the group, is that what it’s for?
I’ve previously done a weekly slimming class, but can’t fit the meetings in my schedule, so I’m logging my food here and also doing IF for the first time!2 -
I'm in, I have 2 stone to lose and I turn 40 this year! I lost 2st4 before Xmas, gained a stone over xmas (probably some of that water weight). Pls send friend request for motivating!1

Hello everyone! Just turned 40 last month. Looking to lose 35 pounds (not sure what that is in stones). I am doing 16:8 IF, 1200 calories/day and low carbs/sugar. I'm doing modified keto, so I can still have plenty of carbs but I just try and stick with 70 or less/day. Met my goal weight 5 years ago and gained it back. Really started getting serious again in October of last year. Lost 12 lbs in about 8 weeks and gained some back over the holidays. I feel so much better since I made this change in my diet. I had horrible brain fog and very low energy before, and just felt really bad. Once I get to goal weight, I plan to keep this lifestyle but I'd like to add in more fruit. Good luck everyone!3

I am 40, I have 3.9 stone to lose, lets do it together ❤️3
