What do you wear to the gym, running or walking? Do you spend the money to buy the athletic clothing or do you just wear sweats and t-shirts?

I wear any loose fitting clothing I have. I don't wear shorts to the gym because I'm not comfortable with people being able to see too much but I grab whatever feels good and go. If I'm going to spend money on cloths its going to be the cloths I buy when I lost the weight.0

i go the sweats-and-tshirts route, mainly because i simply can't afford fancy workout clothes. i have some workout pants that were a hand-me-down from a friend, other than that... boring old stuff.0
-
I have SO many old Tees from sports and clubs. Made them all cutoffs and wear some spandex! Good to go0
-
I never wear cotton.. Its not breathable..
The saying in the runners world is cotton is rotten... Im a fatty runner and I DO SWEAT.. (shhhh, dont tell anyone) lol
So for me sweat + cotton = rash and STANKY!!!
I wear breathable running clothes, runners socks (AMAZING INVENTION) and drywick Everything!0 -
Yep. I only wear nike and brooks running clothing to workout in. Before I lost major weight it was just tees and shorts.0
-
I figure if I'm going to spend this much time at the gym I might as well love my work out clothes so I usually buy Lucy athletic wear. Its awesome.0

I wear yoga pants because they're comfortable, snug enough that I don't worry about them getting caught on or in machines and they're super stretchy. I also wear a regular t-shirt and a sports bra. My shoes are running shoes, but I generally just buy whatever Adidas are the most comfortable (and cute) because they fit my feet the best.0

I was getting "dressed" to go to the gym and started wondering as I was putting on my sweats and t-shirt. I do see alot of people at my gym that are wearing the athletic wear but I just can't afford it either0

I agree. Cotton makes me way hotter than necessary when I'm working out. It might cost a little extra for athletic gear, but it's worth it. Plus, there are plenty of places that have it for a very reasonable price like Walmart. Target carries great athletic clothing, and it's a lot cheaper than the "top of the line" stuff, but still a very quality product.0 -
i cant afford it so i just wear anything that i have jeans if need be and tees atleast till the day my baby grows out of diapers and can eat what we do i dont want to spend a dime on anything for me0

whatever is on sale at Marshall's, or sometimes Old Navy.0

Me too! How cool is that!?!?0 -
watever is comfy. workout clothes arent made for big people like myself who need to work out. walmart has a little but it just doesnt look comfy. besides, with wat little money that i can spend on clothes, i would rather buy something to wear to work or out somewhere. yep leggings and a t shirt is good enough for my big butt to work out in0

Yep - all of my workout and yoga clothes are from Old Navy, Target, and Kohl's. I can't work out in sleeves (one exception being running outside when it's cold) so I'm always in a tank at the gym. Shorts for running/lifting, capris for yoga.0 -
I only wear athletic gear. I buy a lot of my clothes at Kohl's. They have a sale 24/7 and always have 60-70% off rack. I treat myself to expensive stuff when I earn it. But with dieting comes a lot of changing sizes. Last week I bought Fila capris and a shirt to match at Kohl's for 10.80 (excluding tax). 9 for capris and 2.80 for shirt. AWESOME. I pay more for my Nike running socks because they are breathable. And as most have said....cotton sucks when you are sweaty. You can even get a whole outfit at Walmart or The like, for under $15. Buy 1-2 outfits and rotate them. I have kids and know all about budgets, but I refuse to suffer. And think I'm worth the occasional outfit. (& of course my kids still get everything they need)0

I wear cheap athletic gear - not sweats but not the "tech" stuff.. my pants sit on my knees, a bit loose, not cotton but.. I dunno. And I wear a shirt I bought purposely for running, it's fitted but not fatty-ugly fitted.0

Eastern Mountain Sports(EMS) has a product line called Techwick. I wear techwick shirts to the gym. They make it feel 10 degrees cooler.
My shorts or pants are generally inexpensive lightweight sweats.0 -

I hate spending money on something that isn't going to fit in a couple months but i had to.. I wait for sales at stores like old navy.. I got buy one get one 75% off sunday.. All kinds of super cute comfy stuff that will last for a good 15 pounds.0 -
I either wear old basketball shorts or yoga pants. I can't stand the feeling of my thighs rubbing together while doing cardio, so that's a must. And I either wear a loose tank top or a tshirt.. When I go to the gym I'm not really there to impress anyone, but to get my stuff done!0

I have to say, I love a cute workout outfit - I just feel better wearing it! I actually look forward to putting one of my outfits on and that just adds to the enjoyment and excitement of making myself a priority. It's a special set of clothes for a special time of serious business! I wear a suit to meetings with partners, I figure, why not give myself the confidence boost during the workout?!0

I wear athletic gear. But most of it was bought on a sale rail or at TK Maxx.
I usually wear a sports tank, sometimes with a sports short bra/ top underneath, and capri length pants. proper sports socks, and proper gym/ running shoes. The shoes are the most important bit, I wouldn't skimp on expense there.0 -
I wear the nike combat spandex. Comes in a million colors, so light and breathable for shorts and tanks. I highly recommend!0
