Happy Saturday! Mine will be crazy, running to a friendโs house several times to let two of her dogs out while sheโs off at a dog show with #3 and her hubby is driving one of the little Shriner cars at the circus all day. In between Iโm going to take my first stab at a full groom of Charlie by myself. I show groomed Aussies for decades, but Cocker Spaniel coiffures are a whole new world, what with clippers. Eek! I hope I donโt butcher him too much. Wish me luck!

Salt. My calories were on target, but we ordered enchiladas for dinner and they tasted salty to me. Itโs fine, Iโll just drink lots of water today. Itโs snowing to beat the band right now, so other than a dog walk, Iโm planning a cozy day at home. Enjoy your Sunday, all!

I was planning a walk this morning, but itโs sleeting and thereโs a thin layer of ice on everything, so guess my exercise will be some light cleaning, another stab at dog grooming, and then knittingโIโm making DH a sweater he requested (which heโs never done before) and have just one sleeve and the neck band to do. Then back to the cardigan Iโm knitting for myself. ๐๐งถ

~ My daughter is on a very strict diet to correct her EOE. No wheat, soy, milk, eggs are some of the big ones. It has been a very trying time in our house. Like ..what the hell do we eat!? 02/01 - 152.6 - Yeah.... I went a little overboard. I had 127g net carbs yesterday because I splurged on a treat. Oops. I did walk the dogs before dinner, though, which was a task I wasn't 100% convinced I could manage in the visible light timeframe. Fortunately I wasn't starving before dinner so I could take the extra time before cooking. Today I woke up and knocked out a 10 minute upper body immediately followed by a 10 minute lower body strength workout (via Peloton because I couldn't be bothered to do it without external guidance/motivation). I finished up with a 15 minute full body stretch before walking the dogs. I might have to do an additional lower body stretch sometime today, I'm feeling a bit of soreness seeping into these legs and I have a run scheduled for tomorrow. I had a bacon, egg, cheese sandwich (low carb bread) for breakfast. Lunch is leftover keto eggplant lasagna, and dinner is salmon with steamed broccoli (with a small sprinkling of sharp cheddar cheese), and garlic parmesan zoodles (zucchini noodles). BF will be home tonight, his plane is scheduled to land 730 so he should be home about 9. I do have work tomorrow so I'll be up early to knock out my run before work meetings.

01/29 - Happy to have dropped back off to the 151 range. Yesterday was a good low carb day though both BF and I were quite peckish all afternoon. We managed, though. He's leaving here in the next 15 or so minutes and will be gone until after dinner Thursday so I'm on my own. I have a solid low-waste menu for myself (including leftovers, which he doesn't eat) this week. The weather looks as though it will be good to resume my running starting tomorrow. Today was a Peloton ride due to an early meeting for work. My knee is a little sore, but not painful so I'm hoping I'll know by tomorrow if today's ride irritated it enough to avoid a run (especially now I'm home alone with no-one to rescue me) or if I feel good enough to take it easy and adjust (walk) if necessary to get through. Normal eating day but only dinner has a surplus of carbs in the form of potato gnocchi. Lunch is a low carb eggplant lasagna (with leftovers for a low carb day). I've never tried eggplant before so this will allow me to hit my yearly goal of "try one new thing" early.
01/30 - I'm delighted with this negligible change after a normal eating day yesterday. I kept it mindful, tracked, and was low carb other than dinner. I also took the dogs for a second walk after dinner which was delightful. My first time trying eggplant wasn't too bad either. It was a bit bitter in certain bites but I read that sometimes soaking them in salt will help with bitterness found in store-bought eggplants which I didn't do. For the most part, the remainder of the dish hid the eggplant so well I forgot I was even eating it! I will eat that again on Thursday for lunch. Chicken and gnocchi was for dinner (the carb meal) and the leftovers will be eaten Wednesday for lunch. I added in a bit more spinach to give it some extra nutrients, too. Today is air fried garlic parmesan chicken skewers for lunch but I forgot to buy the skewers themselves! I'll make chicken chunks instead in the same manner and have my planned side salad with it. Dinner is keto taco salad with the leftover ground venison from yesterday's lasagna. For breakfast I had zero-carb street taco tortillas to make 2 breakfast burritos with egg, bacon, spinach, and salsa. Delightful and only 5g net carbs, coffee with atkins shake as creamer included! Today I did attempt a run. I used the Peloton outdoor guided run and it took me through 3 different "workouts" as an introductory (endurance, progression, and intervals to give us a taste of what options there are available I guess). I'll have to dig a little deeper into classes if I choose to do an outdoor run again to be sure I don't choose a beginner class - it's mostly about introducing Peloton's methods (which is great!) but I just want a nice run with a little voice telling me I can do it every now and again haha Today is beautiful so windows open! I'm hoping to take the dogs for a second walk (took them after my run this morning) after dinner if I can get done cooking and eating before it gets too dark to head out for some extra fresh air.
01/31 - The scale flashed 150.x a few times and it got me feeling quite excited to be this close again. Hopefully I can hold on to that. I ran today, 2.25 miles in 30 minutes before walking the dogs. Hoping to take them for a second walk this evening. Likely before dinner this time, due to the longer cook time and it likely being too dark once I finish cooking and eating. I'm having leftover creamy chicken and gnocchi (from Monday) for lunch and a single-serving spinach manicotti with a side of baked parmesan green beans for dinner. For breakfast I had avocado toast (on low-carb bread) for the first time ever. So good! I added some grape tomatoes which I sauteed in olive oil a bit and topped with an over easy egg. I added some raw baby spinach to one slice to see if I preferred one or the other. Both great! Spinach made it a tad messier to eat, but I enjoyed it tremendously anyway. Overall today, if I stick to my plan, I'll be under 100g net carbs on a "normal" eating day which I'm happy about. Strength workout planned for tomorrow and my final solo meals - assuming all goes well, BF will get home about 9pm.

Today I await the news from my older friend on her pet scan. They found a mass the size of an orange on her lung recently and have been testing her bones and her brain to see if it has metastasized and to stage her cancer. Her two daughters are with her today and she will find out her options, if any. Iโm praying for good news but in the last 3 months she has broken her hip and then fell again and broke her pelvic which is inoperable. She also has many small blood clots in her lungs theyโve been treating for about a year. To sit and speak with her, you wouldnโt even know that anything is wrong, she still seems pretty healthy so Iโm just so confused. Please pray for Diana H.
02/01 -183.4- (Trend weight 183.0) WTH? I did NOT expect this. Could it be the travel & restaurant from two days ago? Could it be the birthday celebration complete with cake/ice cream catching up? Could it be day 2 of no TMI? Could it be the worst sleep last night that Iโve had in years? Maybe itโs all one big ball of wax (or fat) all rolled up into one. In any case, I feel cheated when I probably shouldnโt. Looks like Iโll be spending the rest of this challenge chasing my own tail. I have partial news on my friend Dianaโher pet scan and bone density scans came back that her tumor is isolated in her lung. Next stop will be a needle biopsy through the back and then an oncologist to find out exact staging, type of lung cancer, treatment options if any and prognosis. They have already said it was cancer so the biopsy is to further identify. I was so happy to hear it hasnโt metastasized but there is still a lot up in the air. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

@Leigh_b sorry to hear about the accident but glad to hear your daughter is okay. Even though she may be fine physically, it may take some time psychologically for her to recover. She may need time to process the cause of the accident and reflect on why it happened. I witnessed an accident a while ago and that was enough to make me want to stop driving. I started out by doing only short, slow speed drives around the block and worked my way up from there. It took a few months before I was comfortable driving again. I agree that getting back to driving is a good idea but it could take a while for her to do all types of driving again. Perhaps even if you help her out in the short term, try to encourage her to do at least short, slow drives every few days after she has physically recovered.

1/27 : 163.8 lbs Well I am disappointed in myself. I ate more pizza than I had planned. My kids help DH make the pizza and it is the one night I have off cooking each week. At the time, I felt like I had to show that I appreciated their efforts. I know that was just an excuse I used to justify it to myself at the time. I can of course tell them how much I appreciate their effort and not let them get in to the cycle of needing to see people overeat the food they make as proof that they have cooked well.

1/29 : 162.9 lbs I slept terribly after having my first coffee in almost 1 month. I give up coffee whenever I need to lose weight because it seems to slow my progress. It's probably because I have a lot of milk with my coffee and I have a habit of wanting something sweet with it. I have only black tea instead but gosh the coffee I had yesterday was good.

1/29- 174.5 And there it is. Mondays and Fridays are our busy days at work. I have a very sedentary job, but man, work wiped me out.

I have struggled the last few days with choosing good food rather than just watching calories consumed. I need to remember the quality of the calorie counts!

Goals for this round; not going to set any numbers as I only self-sabotage when it looks like Iโm getting there! So, to weigh less at the end than the start and an NSV to to reduce my resting heart rate (it used to be in the mid 40โs range, but has gradually crept up and is actually 52 at the moment, also no binge eating.
Good luck everyone for a successful round.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, itโs taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

Travelling 2 miles each way today for DGSโs 4th birthday bash at a soft play & then to a dinosaur themed restaurant, Iโve already checked out the menu, not my type of food; all fried โน , but will chose the least damage and limit the amount of fries that are served with it, & of course there will be birthday cake!
1/28 144.4 -no structured walking yesterday, only exercise was running around soft play with four little GGC sandwiched between 2 hours each way sitting in the car, calories well over.

1/31 143.8 โ 7.24 miles walked. Lunch out with DSs, tried to be as sensible as possible. Itโs DH turn to have some health issues; 2 weeks ago both is hands swelled up quite badly, GP suspected osteoarthritis & booked him a full health check, his blood pressure was up and now his bloods have come back & he also has high cholesterol. He is very fit, not overweight, an arborist still working at 63 including climbing trees daily, he does however eat plenty biscuits, chocolate, cakes etc. it seems that all these have finally caught up with him!! He has 2 medical appointments coming up in the next week, one for his blood pressure and one for cholesterol. Seems he is going to be more aligned with my eating!!

By the end of the steak, I didnโt crave the ice cream anymore. Was able to think through the โtriggerโ, and it just wasnโt worth it! THAT was a huge win!!! Boring yes, but a win! One ice cream wasnโt going to end my world, but it wouldโve ended momentum, ketosis, put me back on square one for another weekโฆ. The victory tasted waaaayyyyy better than the ice cream!

I also make ketchup & mayo from scratch. And, itโs Mardi-Gras (King Cake) season here in Louisiana. (Basically bread sugar, sugar & more sugar). Last year I think I had a piece EVERY day from Jan-March. Not this year- and I donโt miss it! Thank GOD!

The yo-yo is exhausting & unhealthy. Takes up way too much brain space.
I learned MY choices created an emotional ๐ข roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to maintain approx. 130lbs and IN SHAPE. Pretty clear that once I reached a goal weight I would then relax/ drift backwards.
As I age it becomes much, MUCH more difficult to lose weight. I could lose 15lbs easy in 8 weeks up to 2022 ish โฆ This is absolutely not true anymore!
While active with ๐ถโโ๏ธ& ๐พ itโs clear a ST routine is absent. Time to incorporate ST ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ ๐โโ๏ธ๐คธ๐ผas my TRUE focus.

1/30 204.8 I must be fluidy. Please stick please stick. Chronic heart failure and medication play this game with my weight where all I can do is stick to the plan and trust the process. I seem to be dropping into the "set-point" territory where the losses slow down and I stall out. Knock wood it hasn't really happened yet, but I weighed between 200 and 210 for years and years. Last couple of years it has been more like between 215 and 225. As long as I don't undermine my own results because I am proud of the number, I should be okay. ( Note to self: Rewarding myself with food for a loss is unproductive)

1/27: 132.5. Eating was good, went for a walk and a 3 mile run. We are going through a ROUGH sleeping phase with my boys. 3 night in a row that I got less than 5 hours of sleep. It's starting to get to me. I am determined to not let bad decisions creep in, but it's a lot harder when I am tired.
1/28: 134.4. I was feeling a bit dizzy yesterday so ate a little extra. It probably didn't have to include ice cream, but oh well. Went for a walk, no run
1/29: 134.1. I managed to stay within calories, but they included some McDonald's. Eating hasn't been great so far this round. Went for 2 walks and a 3 mile run.
1/30: 136.1. well this is going the wrong direction. I had a bit of extra salt yesterday and drank a little more water than usual, so I have no doubt it's water weight. No run, but did get a walk in. Food was under calories.
1/31: 133.3. Went for a walk, food was good. I was going to go to the gym, but when I got there, it was so packed the parking lot was full. I didn't feel like searching for a spot and then hoping a treadmill would be available, so I just went home. Probably not the best course of action, but it it what it is.
2/1: 132.6. Sleep has been terrible lately. Not sure why my boys aren't sleeping so well right now. I was under calories yesterday, but I ate pretty bad, as I didn't eat a lot, volume or quality. I woke up extra hungry today. Hoping I can keep food under control today. I have a lot going against me.
2/2: 131.7. A little happy surprise for sure! It's a new low for me! I've been sticking to my calorie goal, but I got to admit, the quality of food hasn't been the best. I need to get back to vegetables and healthy choices. Boys finally slept through the night which was nice.

1/27 233.2 / Happy to hold - had dinner and a concert with a friend last night, and a work lunch. Steps were low. Today is the Pelofondo - I pledged to do 150 KM on the bike! Let's GOOOOOO!!!
1/28 234.2 / 6 hours and 10 minutes of riding yesterday to complete the 150 KM. So proud of myself and my husband for doing it. Firehouse Subs just came to our city so we had that for supper after the event.
1/29 235.8 / Day off from work today for a doctor's appointment. Went to a movie yesterday followed by a huge dinner out with friends.
1/30 235.4 / Depressive funk kind of day. Wanted to eat my feelings at night but kept the damage to a minimum. Work is really tough sometimes.
1/31 235 / Planning for an on track day. Need to not let work get to me today.
2/1 234.6 / Worked and then flew to Toronto. Visiting my husband's family for the weekend. Will be out of my routine. Joining a cycling club for the summer... nervous but excited to do more outdoor rides.
2/2 235.6 / The rest of this round will be on my travel scale and out of my routine. Today we drive north to the area my husband's Mom lives in.

1/27 - 178.8 I went up a little because I wasn't focused, but I'm going to do better today.
1/28 - 177.2. I was focused on not eating too much too late last night. That's going to be my focus for the rest of this challenge.
1/29 - 176.2. Ice cream Sunday, but I kept my calories low and still got the win. Today I plan on getting a workout.
1/30 - 176.4. I wasn't focused enough at night, snacking got to me, but I won't let it defeat me today! Onwards and upwards
1/31 177.8. I failed! Binge eating at its best
2/1 176.2. Down from yesters nose dive, but still fighting for a victory this week!
2/2 - 175.8. I'm figuring it out. Eating like an upside down pyramid. Meals big for breakfast, medium for lunch, snack for dinner. That's working for me!

It's been a while since I've been here, but decided to focus on weight loss again and this has always been a helpful tool for me. Lost 30 pounds last spring. then gained a few of those back. Have kept up my daily walks, but need to concentrate on nutrition.

~ My daughter is on a very strict diet to correct her EOE. No wheat, soy, milk, eggs are some of the big ones. It has been a very trying time in our house. Like ..what the hell do we eat!? The answer so far is: Meat, potatoes, rice and vegetables. No butter, no ranch on the side. This is a very difficult concept for my teenager to grasp. - Mon 01/29๐ด180.5;+1lbs
~ 4 more macadamia nut cookies and theyโre gone and out of the house! (Until he makes more from the batch). My husband likes to put us down for cookie dough every time my nephews are sponsoring a school fundraiser.. not very helpful having those around the house...

~ I was โgoodโ all day yesterday until the late night munchies hit me. And I sorta kinda splurged and had chips and queso. At least I counted the tortilla chips out beforehand*small win for me*
~ Still struggling to log everything -will do better today. Fingers ๐ค๐คI used to be so methodical about this. Why is this so difficult now!?
