I am thinking a weekly challenge would be the best. How about this week we focus on water. Get your 8 -8oz glasses everyday, and report how you are doing.0

Go ultimate! Go!! I think I have made up the rest by now but I have been guzzling the last couple of hours. We went on a tour of Texas Roadhouse today (I didn't know they did tours until I was invited) It was a lot of fun, but I forgot to fill my water mug and that has left me deficient...not good! Hope you are doing well.

It is so easy to not get enough water!! I am at 6 but will probably drink a bit more over night. How are you doing today karen? I have had a busy few days, today I had a Dr appt, I am getting a couple of injections and then a blood test on Monday just to check and make sure I still am cancer free. It isn't very fun to go to the dr 3 days in a week though. We are finishing our back yard tomorrow, a bunch of family and friends are coming over to spread all the sod. It will be so nice to have a finished official backyard again! We have put in several trees and it is looking so nice!!

Sorry, I had a very busy day yesterday with some family issues. I am about to go weigh myself and I will send it to you Deb. I didn't do so good on water yesterday. I'm getting an early start today!

No worries I didn't do so well yesterday either. We put sod in our backyard yesterday and prep for that took most of my day. I lost track of how much water I drank.0

I'm slowly starting to get the water in - it definitely helps in this heat. I've been starting to get on track with the eating and the tracking except for on weekends.

Hi all...Have you started a new thread? I've been in and out lately. I had back surgery two weeks ago for a ruptured L4-L5 disc. I'm doing much better, still on tight restrictions but feeling pretty good. Talk to you soon.0

Sorry I've been away dealing with an exam and projects I had to do. But I'm back and at it for at least two weeks until I'm starting up with the swing of school again.
I've been starting to log my food again which I'm finding is helping. I'm looking forward to more exercise as well even though I don't have the time for it.

Just throwing my hat in the ring to see if you all have given up on me. My life has been insane for the last two months, and it has been all that I could do to try to log my food regularly. The good news is that I have not gained during this time! I am hoping that things return to a semblance of normalcy (albeit a new normal) next week and I can jump back in with you. I know that I have missed a lot of news, and I apologize, but hope to return to you soon. Here's to smart choices!0

How has everything been with you? I know that I recently got pretty busy with the change from work to school. I also signed up for like different intramural teams and I love them all so far.0 -
I have been very busy also. First going back to work, as I work at a school, then getting my niece married. I am still struggling to get back into a routine that includes exercise. I promised myself that I would exercise at least once this week, just as a place to start, but between church activities, working volleyball games, and band rehearsal, haven't found the time yet. I'm hoping to at least carve out 45 minutes for a long walk this weekend or something. At this point, I would settle for 30 just to say that I did something! How are things going with you?0

You sound just about as busy as I am.
I've been good. I've been trying to work on my eating habits which has been difficult to get back in the habit of doing. I think any exercise is good exercise. I've been doing quite a bit of sports lately so I think I have that down pat.0 -
I finally did it! I went for an intentional walk to get some exercise! I have been struggling to find time to do anything!0

Today I had a busy day. I did the Run for the Cure (which is a 5k run/walk - I definitely learned that I need to work on long distance running too not just sprints). Then I had intramurals today which I'm falling in love with.
Some of the people that have been playing the intramurals with me are already starting to notice the changes in themselves but sadly I am not seeing some for myself at all. I've actually gained weight since starting these intramurals and I know it's not the fact that I could be losing inches because all my clothes fit the same. It's a little discouraging but I'm really enjoying the sports so I'm not going to stop playing them. I've been thinking about doing a detox again because I seem to always be feeling like crap - so I'm going to look into that later this week as well.

Just wanted to stop in and say hi. I'm almost healed from my back surgery. I've got about 3 more weeks of restrictions and then I can start exercising some again. Hope you are doing well. I have gained a total of 20 pounds since my original injury in January, so it will be just like starting over:sad:0

Tammy - Hi! Good to hear from you! I am glad that you are healing well. The weight will come off again. At least there will hopefully be less pain!
Katie - Good for you on running! That is something that I could never do. I am just starting to get back into walking. Unfortunately, my work schedule has been preventing me from making it back to the pool, and I love to swim. Oh, well. Someday it will happen. Have a great Friday!0 -

It's great to hear from you Tammy. Hopefully it won't take long for the weight to come off and it should be easier . I know that I have about 15 pounds to lose in order to get myself back to where I was at my lowest.
Mary - thanks for the post it helped to see the inspiration. I think I will try to get more long distance running involved in my workouts. How is your goal of exercising more going?0 -
Happy Sunday...I bought a used Nordic Track elliptical yesterday. It has a plug for my IPOD with speakers and an on-board fan. You can buy the Ifit cards for a personalized workout. I got on it today but only lasted 6 minutes. I'm going to try for 6 to 7 minutes at a time twice a day for a week or so and build up from there. It feels good to be able to move without pain. It is beautiful here today, so I may take a walk on a local hiking trail. I'm trying to log my food again, which will be a big step for me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!0
