Guinea pigs are tired from their workout yesterday. And they found a mystery phone next to the game console.

The biggest challenge in doing these is getting the picture taken before the boys realize the girls are there 😆😳

Hi everyone! I’ve been away from myfitnesspal for a while and missed this thread. I haven’t been running lately due to laziness after recovering from a long bout of plantar fasciitis (ugh, no fun). I’m happy to see some familiar faces and many new ones.

For February my goal is to start running again. I’ve been walking regularly. I just haven’t run in several months now. So I’ll set my February mileage goals as 10 miles “wunning”.

Checking in for my first February run, a 4 miler, and the fastest 4miler in quite a few years. Goal pace repeats: 10min fast, 5 slow and then 3x5min fast with 3 minutes slow. Wow, this one came out of nowhere. Nice weather, 5C, wind ok.

About to go out for my first walk/run of the month. Testing out my new socks. Thanks @martaindale for sharing what socks you use. I have a toe that’s been broken at least twice and it curves inward toward another toe and I’m constantly having trouble with the nail cutting into the toe next to it. I’ve been taping and wrapping and trying to cover it and such over the years.

February Goal: 130 Miles

Started February off with a 6 mile run in shorts and a t-shirt. It was really nice out this morning, and we are expecting the same tomorrow. I'm sure we'll have some more cold weather before February is over, but it sure was a nice way to start the month.

Love the shoe porn @Laurz9191! I have a couple of pairs with more than 600 miles on them but I wear minimal shoes and it doesn't seem to be a problem for me with those shoes. Others that I have with more cushioning I don't push much past 400 miles or whenever my knee starts to complain. I also rotate through 2-3 pairs so no one gets beat up all the time.
@SummerSkier - we have some youth organizations here that help train high school kids to run different HMs or Marathons like the LA Marathon. They are always looking for donations of lightly used equipment; running clothes, shoes, hats and the like. You might check around and see if there is something similar in your area that you could donate your shoes to.
@Teresa502 - I will check out that podcast. It sounds interesting.
@polskagirl01 - what you don't want more guinea pigs? They are super cute! I bet your kids are loving getting all the pictures of their antics!
@daria0919 and @martaindale - I can't wear Injinji socks because I can't stand having things between my toes (also can't wear flip-flops for the same reason). I have used the silicon toe caps though when I have issues with a nail digging into a toe but I make them short enough that they don't bug me.

No run or walk for me today. It was pouring all day and when it finally stopped we had just a few minutes before the sun set. Looks like our forecast has a couple of days break from the rain so we will take advantage and get out when we can.

@daria0919 Love the sock porn! I hope they work out for you. I don't think I could wear those, as I can't stand ANYTHING between my toes. I can NOT wear flip flops either. Sounds like we are toe twins @shanaber.

1 Feb - Walked 1.00 miles - Ran 2.00 miles - treadmill intervals

3.00/85.00 miles

I ran intervals on the treadmill early this morning before heading out for my day. I ran 5 min @ 4.5 mph, 6 x (1/2 min @ 6.0/4.0 mph), 3:03 min at 4.5 mph.

A 5k to start the month. I felt great so am happy to announce I’m fully recovered (average heart rate is still about 8bpm above its usual, but the same as it was last week on the same run where I was 30 seconds per kilometre slower). I’ll try a long run tomorrow and see how that pans out.

Sorry for not commenting as much as I should, likes and hugs given out where appropriate. My Feb goal is just to run regularly and not be in pain. Back is definitely on the mend though yoga is still problematic.

Still, the sun is shining, somewhere - keep going folks!

I seem to be “in like” with just saying Injinji 😂

@shanaber and @quilteryoyo I too can’t stand anything between my toes and can’t wear flip flops or any sandals with straps between toes.. Didn’t think these Injinji socks would work for me either. But I realized last night when I posted my run here that I never felt the socks at all during my 3 miles yesterday. My toes must have felt fine because I even forgot I had the Injinji socks on. So, I’m now a believer and am there with @Teresa502 and @martaindale.

Good work planning ahead @quilteryoyo and getting the mile at the start of the day. I think I could make more of an effort to register at least a mile per day of intentional walking. Fitbit clocked 113+ miles for me for January, but I officially only recorded less than 50 of intentional miles. You inspire me with all you have on your plate and with still looking after yourself to get something in each day.

@AlphaHowls as always, I’m amazed at your mileage and strength and endurance. Way to go!

Very stormy weather made this very difficult. And I did something to my lungs during yesterday's run as my airways felt very uncomfortable thereafter. Today I could not breathe slowly at all. Means no running tomorrow.

I actually feel the same way about sandals between my toes. I was skeptical about injinji but, like you said, I don't notice them at all. Glad they worked for you!

I'm enjoying the guinea pig antics @polskagirl01! Better than elf on the shelf for sure!
