Challenge final weight:
I didn't make my weight loss goal this month, but I'm very happy with my results. Had to make some adjustments, after realizing that I was inadvertently over-training and under-eating. This had led to my weight loss happening too fast for what's considered healthy, AND me feeling exhausted/unmotivated/cranky/constantly hungry.
For the first time EVER during a weight loss effort, I didn't just throw in the towel when things got a bit out of whack... but instead I looked at all the data and info I've accumulated over the past months (food log, weight log, exercise and other health data from my Apple Watch, medical weight loss advice). Then I figured out what needed to change.
I took some time off from exercising (because, as I now know, adequate rest is an important part of exercising). I increased my daily calories and adjusted my macros. I added in an iron supplement (don't do this without blood work evidence that you are actually iron deficient or anemic; and talk to your doctor!). I'm feeling much better and the weight has started to move again, and I'm excited for the next part of my journey.
For anyone here who wants to learn more about weight loss in a supportive environment, please come check out the Ultimate Accountability Challenge. This group has been absolutely instrumental to my success: after years, no, decades of yo-yoing, I'm now down 70 lbs (since June 27 last year) and I feel so much better in every way. I'm never going back to my previous lifestyle.
Hope to see you all in the February 2024 Weight Loss Challenge! Onward and downward!
No exceptions. No excuses. 🥑

MY CHALLENGE STARTING WEIGHT FOR THIS CHALLENGE:150
MY CHALLENGE WEIGHT LOSS GOAL:140
Last time I had challenged myself to eat at restaurants only for social activities, not alone, and then just an appetizer and drink. I lost 4 pounds. So I am going to continue this, and add another challenge. 2 bean dishes per week at home. 1 bean soup recipe and vegetarian pasta and peas...every week!
January 1:150
January 8:151
January 15:Back to 149..Beans!
January 22:?
January 29: ?
Feb 2: Back to 151! 🥲
So the bean dishes are tasty & have been really good for my wallet. I have been getting entrees à la carte like one taco or a sandwich without a side instead of appetizers as sometimes that is the healthier option.
I refuse to suffer just to lose 10 pounds! I'm brainstorming again to think of some sort of tweak to cut calories enough to start losing weight..I did just discover the smart bmi website, which puts 144 as a healthy weight for me. That made me feel a lot better!5 -

So as expected ToM came and with it the whoosh of what I was supposed to have lost last week and this week. From last whoosh it's down 3 kg. This is more than my goal is i feel that eating 1930 cal is fairly ok during the week but on weekends I tend to need a bit more. Because I do love my treats.
I don't have premium so I can't get the app to tell me 1930 Sunday -thursday and 2400 Friday and Saturday is good but I am going to try that out going forward. Because I really don't need to lose almost a kg a week.
We have had a lot of weather this week. At one point we were told to have everything prepared for a prolonged period of power failure. But it didn't happen a few hurricane strength gusts has been measured but I feel that they were not as bad as previous years where we live. But places close by has had more.

January 8: 206 I did great all week until the weekend and then overate yesterday. Disappointing! The first anniversary of my DH death is coming up on March 9. This month marks his rapid decline. Many memories and most are sad and unpleasant.
January 15: 206.8
January 22: 206.8 Went up last week and stayed the same, now to bring it down. My special needs daughter had lithotripsy (sound waves) to remove a kidney stone yesterday. It's been a very stressful last few days with that and freezing rain that made driving to the hospital very tricky.

@Cheery83 I do not have the premium MFP either. However, I do zig-zag my calories from day to day. You just need to go back to the goals tab located at the top and change what your calories will be for the day. I wish you could do it for the whole week at one time but you can't. You need to do it daily but it it's quick and simple. It will adjust your macros automatically with the new calorie input. However, you can even change them up too if you like. I change my calories every single day on the zig-zag diet. I hope this helps.

I really didn’t need that pasta that was in it. Challenge final weight:
February is going to be fun for me. Looking forward to celebrating three different milestones:- 0.1 lb away as of Feb 1: complete my first 70 lbs of weight loss ✅ Feb 5
- 1.1 lb away as of Feb 1: reach Onederland.
- 4 lbs away as of Feb 1: dropping below BMI of 35 to land in the garden-variety obesity category (currently I'm considered extremely obese).
No exceptions. No excuses. 🥑
