Why not, if it makes you happen and full. Don't forget to add sufficient protein though for preserving muscle mass and fats for normal brain function, your intestines and fat soluble vitamins. If you're looking at weightloss then calories matter, and only secondary your macros for making you full and happy.

Define "high carb"? Also maybe define what kind of carbs you're centering?

I don't care how many carbs I eat (yes, really), as long as I hit my personalized minimum goals for protein, fats, fiber, and loose maximum for calories. Retrospectively, I'm close to the MFP default carb percent, 50%. Some people would call that "high carb", but it's pretty much the mainstream balanced-macros recommendation by various sources.

In grams, I ate around 150g+ carbs most days while losing weight, now more like 225g+ daily. (As context, I'm 5'5", started at 183 pounds, now mid-130s.) It's worked fine, and been satisfying for me.

For me, it's mostly carbs from veggies, fruits, no-sugar-added dairy, not much from added sugars, baked goods, candy. I do eat a bit of the latter, but don't find them filling.

As Ann said, for me it depends on what kind of carbs I eat. Sugar doesn’t make me hungrier, but white flour brings on more hunger for me after I eat it.

I have a kidney transplant and no gall bladder, so I'm a Carbie girl. I have pierogies for dinner a lot. Pizza is up there, too. It's a hard life. I also make sure to have my salads every day and sufficient fat and protein sources. Surprisingly, I've been skipping dessert lately. I'm in maintenance and I don't count calories anymore. Eating is a ritual for me.

I think it’s highly subjective based on the person. What are your needs? How do you feel? Quick carbs? Low glycemic carbs?

Super carried here, happily recovered low carber. Lol

I am vegan but was still high protein for a long time. I had started eating more legumes, whole grains, fiber andstarchiet veggies plus more fruit and could not even believe how much better I started feeling! I started eating sprouted bread, rye crackers, oats, gatbonzos, lentils, yams, watermelon, jackfruit, dates and more. I eat a WFPB diet, and cannot even imagine another way. Hav8ng wholemeal pita bread with hummus is life! Lol
I also make black beans with cacao, coco powder and dates and pit on cinnamon raisin Ezekiel
I also.lost some weight since switching. I count calories, weight my food. I just feel so much better and alive. I get around 150 to 250 grams of carbs, 50 to 60 percent of my calories.
