Thank you, you lovely people... It's been rough. But I'm blessed, so blessed that she was one of the most beautiful parts of my life.
@itladyee She was a Blue Heeler mixed breed. We found her free off of Craigslist when she was 8 weeks old. Lady who had her wanted to keep her but she couldn't keep her older dog and pup in the same room without older dog attacking puppy. I loved her the moment I met her.5 -
I looked at my AF days tracker and am a bit under my goal of where I want to be.
Aiming for more AF days this week as I have a girls vacation coming up closer to the end of this month.
DH and I decided on no big dinner or dessert for Valentines this year as we splurged for birthdays and Super Bowl already.
That also means no wine tomorrow!
Actual also includes AF tonight:

@globalhiker - I have been known for going out of my way now and then to pick up the ‘mini’s’ at World Market! Sometimes it just makes good sense .
@tmbg1 - I personally know those feelings can be difficult to navigate. We are here for you.3 -
Morning my fellow LA alcohol friends.
I recently learned alcohol and excess carbs are a leading contributor to excess inflammation. I'm no spring chicken and the past 6 or so months my joints are starting to ache big time preventing me from hitting my strength training goals. So for 30 or more days I am going to abstain from alcohol and go back on the keto program to see if it improves my situation. Can't hurt eh!

@xbowhunter : no question that boozing it up after a workout probably undermines any benefit. And, I’ve never had a worse hangover than from doing a big workout (Eg, 25mi bike ride in the summer heat), then hit the beers. Feels good going down, but—oh—the next day everything hurts!3

Checking in- weekend went about as I expected - went over on Saturday but I kept it under my planned drinks on Fri and Sun. Overall 7 on target, 6 over. Not a great start but committed to improving!
Planned A today for Valentine's day, but may make Friday AF to still get 4 days this week.4 -
February has been quite the challange for me. Giving up alcohol completely for Lent. Well, until 3/24 when my vacation starts.

AF last night, even with some serious family concerns that came up, I ‘noticed’ I didn’t run to a glass of wine to dull the news but did have to breathe through it for awhile, pray and take melatonin to sleep.
Something fun for me……I went to a Barre class yesterday taught by my favorite instructor - she also has her own dance studio. You know how it’s all about the glass with LA? It’s all about the instructor at a gym studio class!
The days are becoming less cold so getting out to a class is becoming a little easier.
I also have a spot reserved for Zumba this morning.
On another note, my blueberry bush has tons of buds on it. I hope Spring isn’t too far off!
Happy Valentine’s Day to all my special LA friends!

As of yesterday, was still NOT back on track and a bit frustrated. It's all me though...guilty!! In the last 7 days, I've had an Anniversary with two dinners out, Superbowl with snacks and alcohol (not nearly what I would normally do) and now Valentine's day (which shouldn't translate into much change). But there were too many temptations during this week and i barely said no. It was fun and enjoyable but now the tale is told on the scale! Up 2 from last week and a total of almost 4 from the week before!! It's amazing (also known as appalling) how easy it is for old habits to come back. At least I've remained constant with exercise and even threw in some new core moves!

Morning LA friends!
I was tested yesterday being V day! My wife had me pour her a glass of excellent wine.
She asked me if I wanted some and I was tempted but didn't cave! lol

As I said yesterday, not a great start. So far 7 days on target (5 AF) and 7 over target which are NOT the numbers I wanted this month. However, we're only halfway through, plenty of time to turnaround. Planned AF next 2 days (Friday is normally an "A" day for me so an extra bit of challenge for me ) then we'll see how the weekend goes.
I have cut my daily calories a bit, as even the weeks I have managed the drinks, I've seen ZERO shift in the scale since mid-Jan. Basically all my holiday weight is becoming just weight...so keeping mindful of that should ideally help with the drinks as well as the food.6 -

Hi all, had about a glass and a half the last two nights, need to ratchet that back to one. Calories have been over my normal as well.4
-
I've so far made it through half of February with no alcohol. I don't really notice feeling much better specifically. I'm still waking up in the middle of the night most nights.
The hardest part for me has been when I'm watching TV and the characters drink on the show. It seems to be pretty prevalent in most shows.
I still think I can make it through February since I have nothing planned this month. I'm not sure what my goal should be for next month but the first 2 weekends of March will be tough with some events. The longer I go in February without alcohol the more stressed I get about March since I'll be breaking what is becoming a longer and longer streak.10 -
Morning LA friends!
Doing much better this month! I may have a glass of wine this weekend or maybe not because I feel back to normal again! Just by not drinking at all this week I shed almost 5lbs of water weight and feel much less bloated.
Stay strong! Live long!

Some of my friends are away this weekend and I'm a little releived because there will be less tempation to go out and drink. Certain friends I feel like I have to come up with a good excuse (lie) to not meet them out. Looking forward to an AF weekend!8 -

I can relate. Last summer I cut out the alcohol then we were invited to go on a wine tour. uggg!
Talk about awkward for me! lol6 -
@xbowhunter The struggle is real!2

It's crazy how much you notice when others are drinking when you're trying to stop or cutback. I believe it's a mental connection that we make over time but it also impacts like WHAT I feel like drinking based on the show...totally feel this one and it's usually one of the reasons I go over on the weekends. It's not out partying, it's the easy glass of wine that turns into 2 during a show/movie.
Excellent work on February! You might be surprised how you approach it once you get back to the point of drinking in March!5 -
Friday accountability check-in:
Congrats to those who are working hard on their LA goals, and sending encouragement to those who need it.
I’ve been exercising and feeling really good about that, but had wine two nights in a row and now I’m not too happy with myself. Those were my planned AF days. 😖
I need to find a better way to cope with some very stressful extended family stuff going on.
Stay strong everyone (advice I need to give to
myself)!

Hello dear L.A. group
Been a bit MIA here(sorry).
Still a ^&$% show at my work. They had yearly performance reviews this past week. I had to laugh....I have more work years in excellence under my belt then that damn kid reviewing my work performance.
OK so Valentines Day I had 1.5 stemmed flue of bubbles. My hubby wanted me to have another and that is when I popped the top off my fever tree non-alcoholic drink and poured it in the stemmed glass.
So far this month accountability is
3.5 standard drinks
VERY HAPPY with this.
Gotta run. have a grand weekend!12 -
Two drinks last night with dinner, glad I didn’t go over. Also I stayed in my calories, so that’s a huge bonus!
How you all have a great weekend.
4 -
Weighed in at 145.6, 1.4lbs down from beginning of the month. I'll take it. Total 11.5 lbs lost since Thanksgiving, thanks to the 99% AF plan!
For me, I know it's the AF lifestyle that is driving my weight loss. I am making healthy choices and I feel really good. I did however have planned champagne for Valentine's day and but I went right back to my "normal" fruit juice nightcap drink the following day and will keep up "my new normal" to make it to month-end.
My motivation now is to get to 144 by month end. AF all the way

If I continue the AF during the week and maybe a bit on the weekend...I'll be good. It took 3 days of being almost perfect (AF + hitting macros) for the scale to go down. One day of "fun" and then back to it. Will give up my rest day on Sunday and get a decent walk in...
@foldinthecheese
Wishing you success for the rest of the month. It is hard!
@Michieb125
I think exercise is a key..When you do have wine (or your choice, mine is wine) ..when you've been exercising and know that you will continue to do so...it helps you set your limits) . Exercising with a hangover is not fun!
I get the stress stuff...and I'm still working on that as well
@Missmay and @Womona
Looks like you both are in your groove. Sorry you're still dealing with a "show" at work @Missmay. but a bit of Bubbles is ok but you kept it at a bit.
@womona ~ Stopping at two... <insert Aplause!> Not easy.
@globalhiker ~ kudos to you. While I know it's 100% true... I'm still struggling that AF will drive weight loss. I went an entire year trying to "balance" it and still have weight loss #fail. This year.. I'm doing much better but still "allowing" but very restrictive and I see the difference...as painful as it might be .. I enjoy my wine!

My car is on its last legs so there's been a lot of walking to a client's.
I've been walking 20,000 or more this past week.
I walk there anyway,but I've been doing this every morning I have her and I'm likeing it.
My left calf is telling me something different, especially when going up hill.8 -
Admittedly, I had a really rough week with some family issues. My anxiety skyrocketed a handful of days and I know I had wine to try to relax. Did it work? Sort of. Is it helpful? No, because it’s counterproductive to reach my Health and wellness goals. Things started to settle down yesterday and I am going to give it all I got to make up several AF days in a row this week.
