I always used the handicap toilet stalls because I really was uncomfortable in the regular stalls. My hips were just too wide. But now my hips are narrow enough that the regular stalls are comfortable.28

I lost a clothing size because of walking and tracking my calories! Yay25

OH I love this! My recent NSV is that my resting heart rate is down to 68bpm!16

Since my major 80 pound weight loss four years ago, I just ran my 50th 5K race and 84 total races of varying distances. (Including a Half Marathon.)
I have also completed 3 Super Sprint, and 9 Sprint Triathlons!
In December I dieted down to a 90 pound total weight loss just to see if I could do it. I also hit 13% body fat! Crazy as it is, I am now in the middle of a three month "bulk" and have gained 20 pounds. Come April 1st I will switch to "cutting" and shed the weight again but retain the additional muscle mass!
Stay with it!!!25 -
✨✨✨New measurements are in!✨✨✨ Almost 2 months’ worth of progress: I lost 🌟 1.5” from my chest 🌟 1” from my waist 🌟 5” from my stomach/hip 🌟 1.5” from my stomach/butt 🌟 0.3” from my thigh and 🌟 0.5” from my calf. As I thought last time I took my measurements, my shape is now changing more at my center than at my neck, arms, and legs (where the most drastic initial weight loss happened).26

Feeling good lately about being back in control of my body, rather than letting mood be in control. It still takes over some, but I'm making progress.15

Had cabbage and tuna salad with a fibre one brownies and sugar free energy drink instead of a subway sandwich and a donut. Probably saved 500+ calories.18

I'm still trying. That's it--and it's a lot, for me.29

May seem silly but not making easy Mac at 1am after a few cocktails. LOL oh and also not finishing all of my French fries. Usually I am convinced I need to finish everything on plate and trying to work better on listening to body and what it actually wants and not just eating to eat. Anyone else?!
Me 100%! I am working on putting less on the plate to start with!8 -
Tiny, tiny NSV for me, but still - only been back a week and a wise person once told me to only measure once a month as you won't see much progress in a week and it's discouraging. But I measured my waist anyway, and it's 0.5cm (1/4 inch) down. Only 5 3/4 inches to go...15

Feeling more confident. When guys smile at me or open the door for me (all of a sudden happening more, hmm), I don't avert my eyes or dodge by as quickly as possible as though they've made a mistake. I make eye contact and smile back.19

I made a goal of 10k steps a day 10 Days ago and have reached it every day so far.23

A couple days ago, I once again pulled out my big box of stashed old clothes. And even though I haven't lost much weight since last time, I was able to move several items back into my closet because I've slimmed down quite a bit. It really isn't all about what we can see on the scale!
In fact I have now put so many of my old clothes back into circulation that I was able to swap out the big box of still-too-small clothes for a smaller box, freeing up some closet space. I started this journey last summer wearing 1X-3X tops, and pants/bathing suits etc. in sizes around 20W-24W Now I'm wearing L-XL tops, and size 14 jeans.
I then dropped off the last of my plus-size tops at the thrift shop. Well I did keep one winter/Christmas top that I absolutely LOVE, but I'll probably donate it in the near future too, because who am I kidding: I'm not likely to wear anything plus-sized next winter! I will have much more flattering options to choose from.
Since I had kept this box of clothes, I haven't needed to buy anything new so far while losing weight. However, I'm slowly nearing the end of my stash, and there are a couple gaps in my wardrobe. So, while I was at the thrift shop, I thought I'd look around for a few items I could use (a zippered hoodie, a t-shirt, and another pair of jeans). I didn't find anything I liked enough to buy, but I had selected four tops to try on, and amazingly I could put them all on without a struggle! Everything fit! For years now I've only gone shopping whenever my clothes had become too tight yet again, and it was a struggle every time to find something that works for my shape, even after I started buying from online plus-size retailers where every top is basically a square with sleeves attached. I'm still wrapping my mind around the fact that I can now simply walk into a store, and try on normal clothes that have a good chance of actually fitting me!21 -
After several weeks of fitting annoyingly in-between the fourth and fifth hole, my watch band has finally settled into its tighter setting. Well, not my watch band obviously, but my wrist
I noticed this morning that it's so easy now to lift my right leg while standing (such as to pull on pants). This movement used to cause me terrible back pain, so that I had to bend down to the floor and insert my foot into the pants at ground level (or sit down to get dressed). I know it's been months since I last had to do that
And, most importantly... this new lifestyle of mine really is a lifestyle now. It feels normal to eat well, exercise, look good, and feel good. I mean, there are bad days of course, but those are just bad days that will pass. It used to be some hard-won exception for me to "have my act together," and even during periods when I was doing well objectively, I always felt like I was constantly teetering on the edge of losing my focus (and thus, always at risk of undoing all my progress). Actually, now that I think about it, it wasn't so much a risk as it was a certainty that I would eventually undo all my progress! That was how I felt, and my experience proved me right. In the past, even when I was in pretty good shape by my standards, I always had to force myself to start exercising (even during periods when I enjoyed exercising), whereas now, when I can't move as much as I would like to, I miss it and actively work on getting back to where I can do it. I have learned so much! Now, eight months into my weight loss, I have zero doubt that I will live like this for the rest of my life: moving my body, paying attention to what I eat, and generally being as healthy and content as I can be. I went off track a little during the past couple months, but I worked on figuring out what was wrong instead of losing hope and giving up, as I would have done in the past. And even during those difficult weeks, I was still losing weight, albeit slowly. I never doubted that I would move forward again, it was just a question of figuring out how to get over that speed bump. My mindset is so different now that I really do feel like a different person.23 -
It’s a silly NSV but I’m gonna brag about it anyway.
I had some setbacks. A stressful 2022, and just kind of ignoring weight loss while focusing on trying to just keep my sanity for most of 2023.
I haven’t weighed myself in two years, and I probably won’t do so anytime soon.
That’s the not great stuff.
Here’s the victory.
I didn’t give up.
Sounds silly, yeah?
I was around 300 ish when I began this journey. So I did buy myself an entire new wardrobe out of necessity. And I noticed it was getting snug.
Instead of buying bigger clothes again? I started paying better attention to my diet. And got back at the NuStep daily.
And my clothes aren’t tight anymore.
I’ll probably weigh myself sometime in May.
It’s a win. The road is long. Giving up is the only way to fail. Taking a break is ok if you have to. But the trick is to get back at it and keep on going.

I've had a couple of people tell me, "Wow! You're glowing!" Focusing not only on the physical aspect of my health but my mental health as well is starting to show.15

New here, but my NSV is that my 4x shirts hang off of me now. I have a few old 3x shirts I used to wear, that I pulled out of storage and am using now. I also pulled out my old 2x shirts, and I can almost wear them! (The are still a little snug, but I'm almost there!)26

Some of my clothes are looser and I can fit into my favourite dark blue chinos again.11

I had to buy a new rain jacket and the first 2 I tried—3x and 2x—were too big. I probably could have gotten L, but went with 1x for extra roominess.17

I’m not having a great month in terms of weight management. there is plenty of emotional eating and bad decisions being made causing the scale to jump almost 6kg in 2 weeks. I know it’s not all permanent gain, but some of it definitely is and it makes me feel fat which triggers all sorts of feelings for me.
Despite this I was on a plane today, where I sat in the middle seat with no qualms, did not touch the armrests or the people next to me and had spare seatbelt the length of my lower arm. I was actually marvelling at the idea that there was a time when I would have nervously inhaled to be able to fasten that. Clearly all is not lost ☺️ taking the NSV of having the presence of mind to notice my progress and reality check my perception of myself.30 -
If I'm being honest, well it's the fact that I'm still here.
But I'll get there. Baby steps!21 -

I was able to climb a ladder for the first time in years. My garage ceiling is 10 feet high. I climbed it to put a new LED light in. I had no difficulty with the climb. Normally, my son would do this for me. Today it was me!25

Mine was almost a little embarrassing. My pant almost fell of on the way into work. 😂28

My Dr. cut the dosage on one of my heart meds.36

I flew this week for the first time in a couple of years and did not need my seatbelt extender. I had packed it just in case but I had inches to spare. I definitely got teary!31

3.5 months ago I did bloodwork to try to get onto insurance, and I found out that I was prediabetic and had slightly elevated cholesterol. I lost 10 lbs since then and just redid my bloodwork and everything came back normal! I am quite relieved to have that off my head!27

I ran 5k in less than 30 mins. Super chuffed30
