@ContraryMaryMary LOL love it! Rubbing off on you already! LOL
(Side note-
Though your boys making a meal of it against the Aussies! Kane run out for 0, and Southee dropping a sitter on the last ball of the day!)5 -
You are all incredible!!!
Thanks for keeping me motivated.
Ok here we go!! Spring is starting to peek into the weather and I’m feeling better from my injury. Hoping to get back to half marathon distances by early fall without hurting myself.
Goal this month is 50 miles.

Your efforts all look amazing. Keep it up.
Feb was a bust for me, target 100 miles, actual 77. Moving on from officially the wettest Feb on record in my area, and hopefully up with a target of 120 miles for March.
There were some Feb highlights, work organised a team event where people came for a run or walk with me as part of training, and I finished the Brighton Half Marathon. Good places to build from.
If I can just lose the belly things would go a lot quicker!

Yep, February was a total bust for me too @TheMrWobbly, so I feel ya! Ended up with barely half of my usual mileage. So will start back easy and see how it goes this month. Will set a modest goal of 100 miles.
Thanks for setting us up for March @AlphaHowls!9 -
Hi everyone!
Got in my first March run of 13.2km. I have been following Garmin‘s „suggested workouts“ more or less but was inspired by @martaindale to finally figure out how to make my own workouts on my watch (it really wasn’t that hard). I am trying to figure out what my M race pace should/could be by trying to run at a pace I think could be my race pace. Today I ran 10k at that possible pace. It was a really nice run, so I think I’ll try to do a longer run at that pace next week and see what it’s like. The weather was perfectly pleasant and I saw a gaggle of geese and a bunch of trains go by while running.
13.2/250km.
@Scott6255 and @TheMrWobbly (congrats on the HM and great happy running pictures btw) @quilteryoyo and anyone else who struggled last month, I hope March is easier!6 -
March Running Goal: 17 runs, 55 miles
1.3 lbs. February weight loss (244.8 lbs -> 243.5 lbs)
I'm Chris; I moved to San Diego, California, in 2023. My fittest years were 2010 and 2019 when I did lots of food tracking, Iyengar yoga, and running. In 2024 I'm shooting for a cool, calm, collected, stable routine of fun, running, music, yoga, good work, and enjoying this place I live in.
I started a medication for obesity, Qsymia, about a month ago. It's had no big impact so far.
I signed up for an April 2024 Half Marathon to keep as a North Star. I am on a easy training plan to prepare for it, and so far I'm plugging along. The race is on the place that I usually go to for long runs, so I'm happy to go there and like the area.
Please connect on Garmin if you have one.

Here for my second Monthly challenge of the year.
Goal 85 miles:
3/1 - 2.82 miles

2.82 total miles
82.18 miles to go

3/1 14.17 miles, Crazy Laps! Cold drizzle
There are days I sometimes feel one step away from my back going out. I have had issues for many years. I knew I had osteopenia developing in left since about 2016 (bone scan). So, I finally decided to get official x-rays. I have already seen it at my chiropractic office, but needed it at my primary doctor.
RESULTS:There is mild diffuse levoscoliosis centered at the mid lumbar spine.
Otherwise, alignment is anatomic. Disc space heights are
maintained. There are mild sclerotic facet joint degenerative
changes inferiorly, left-greater-than-right. Cannot exclude
osteopenia/osteoporosis. No compression fracture deformity is noted,
and remaining visualized osseous structures and soft tissues are
within normal limits for age and technique.
IMPRESSION:
1. Mild scoliosis.
2. Cannot exclude osteopenia/osteoporosis.
3. Mild sclerotic facet joint degenerative changes inferiorly.
4. Otherwise, within normal limits.7 -
I did my first ever parkrun this morning, it's part of an effort to improve my overall speed. Since moving to the country over two years ago I have done no speedwork and it's definitely affected my pace.
I completed it in a respectable time, 27:54, but that's about 40 seconds per kilometre slower than I was running a half marathon three years ago! My first goal is to get back to 25 minutes for 5k.11 -
@AlphaHowls Your results seem pretty good to my none medical eye. So Well done lady! Osteoporosis is huge problem for women but difficult to figure out the correct care4

On the board for March with 6 decent miles this evening.

@TheMrWobbly That's awesome that your work organized workouts with you and I think you did great on your HM!
Thanks @Laurz9191 . Glad you had such a nice run today.
@AlphaHowls I don't know what all of that doctor speak means, but it looks like a pretty good report to me. Glad nothing major was found. And, I was told that weight bearing exercise (running) helps the muscles to stay strong. I would say you are the poster girl for that!
Sounds like a great run to start the month @ContraryMaryMary .

1 Mar - Walked 1.00 miles - Ran 0.00 mile - treadmill
1.00/85.00 goal
I worked for 4 hours at daycare, in the middle of the day, ran some errands, and made a long phone call after I got home. It was getting late by then and I needed to eat so I could take the antibiotics, so I just did a one mile walk to keep my streak going.6 -

This one is good. I have used the Hansons plans for training and the paces have been spot on. I trained for a 2:02 HM and finished in 2:02:06. I know his name isn't Hansons but this is the coach for that program.3 -
No running yet this month. My stomach has been queasy for the last 2 days. Not sure what's going on. I'm still not really eating normally and the idea of jostling around sounds terrible. I was planning on a short run tomorrow but I'll have to see how I feel in the morning. I may just end up going on a walk.10

@chris_in_cal hahahahaha! Consider it the (Cricketing) revenge for pushing the (Baseball) phrase "Curve ball" into everyday work lexicon6
