@TheMrWobbly Smart call to stop when you did. You’re too close to race day to risk a serious injury. And you got the miles in anyway. Great job!
@tarun_yadavA 12+ hours is a brutal drive. Hope y’all had fun at the game. I think basketball is way better in person that on TV.
@quilteryoyo Your wildflowers are looking fabulous. I love wildflower season! We are in the midst of a peak bloom here as well and it makes the drive to and from the hill country totally lovely.5 -

Went out to run the hills this morning. My day of weeding yesterday left my hamstrings tired this morning and my hips are a bit sore. It made the run harder than I thought it would be. It was very humid but cloudy with a little mist and some breeze, which helped keep it bearable.
I have more weeding on deck today. Gotta get it under control and we have people coming to the house next weekend for the eclipse so I want it to look nice. We planted some wildflowers a couple of years ago and this year we have a few bluebonnets coming up and a smattering of some others I don’t know the names of. Hopefully they’ll continue to propagate and we’ll have fields of flowers in a few more years.6 -

Medical and Emotional TMISo, I ended up having to do a bone scan and got the results back. I have osteoporosis.
-2.9 hip
-4.5 low back
I spent the week researching the medications and there is not a single one I can take. I met with the doctor on Friday to 'discuss treatment.' I spent the week in a funk because of all the negative things I was reading. My treatment comes down to add one more calcium to my regimen and pray I do not throw a kidney stone. I had a Vitamin D blood level test to see if I am low.
Just a heavy emotional drain this week, treading water. Demons trying to latch on, beating them off with Jesus. So much going on, too much to post. I want to move on to April.8 -
@emptydog It was cloudy here this morning too, so no sunrise to see. You had some great runs this month. No worries about not meeting your goal. Next month!
Great running @Laurz9191 . You were really close to your goal. That's wonderful with your injury earlier in the month keeping you from running for several days!
@daria0919 Great running. Congrats on making your goal. Don't you just hate it when you forget to turn on the technology! What did we do before it existed?
Congrats on the mileage for the month @tarun_yadavA ! That's amazing. It's so hard to drive over 12 hours. I used to do it easily. Now 6 hours kicks my butt. Glad you made most of the game. Looks like you and son enjoyed it.
Thanks @martaindale ! Spring is my favorite season of the year, mostly because of the wildflowers. Great running for the month. I hope your flowers propagate well. Be careful with the weeding though. Don't want to hurt your hamstrings to the point of injury. I'm sure your friends won't even notice the weeds.
Amazing running @AlphaHowls . I'm surprised about your diagnosis since you do run so much. I know that helps to stave it off. Mom took Fosamax for a while, but it really bothered her, so she quit. Her last bone scan showed not a whole lot of change. I hope yours is stable with the addition of Vitamin D and Calcium. Prayers and hugs for you.
Today, I did my normal walk between church and lunch at mom's. I walked 1.80 miles to make my total for the month 63.0. Way short of my goal of 85 miles, but I'm not real sad about that since I also had 17 hours of other exercise (tennis, DR mowing).
It's hard to believe March is over already. See you in the April thread.5 -
@quilteryoyo - love your wildflower pictures. So pretty! Hope you can get the part you need quickly.
@7lenny7 - seems like you roadtrip to GA is going well so far especially finding great places to run!
@TheMrWobbly - whether running or walking and running time on your feet is important training too and you got that done. Also getting to enjoy a lovely day makes it a win/win, Hope your calf is ok.
@Laurz9191 - Yay for a warm run in shorts and a t-shirt!
@daria0919 - congrats for making your 60mi goal! Great job!
@tarun_yadavA - don't know how I missed that you ended your streak - it was a great one!
Love the pictures from the game. Your son looks like he is really enjoying himself too. Is he looking at colleges while you are here? Also just saying the Golden Road brewery is just up the way from my house. It is a great place with good food too.
@martaindale - I planted a bunch of wildflower seeds too but have no sprouts at all yet. They may have all drowned though in all the rain we have had recently.
@AlphaHowls - beautiful sunrise picture! I am sorry about the diagnosis. I would not have expected it either, like @quilteryoyo said, with all the running and training you do. I do hope they can find a way to stabilize it without any of the medications.
I held off posting here to see if I could get out today but it has been raining all day just like yesterday. I am glad I got out Friday for a short, very slow, walk that got over my goal. Managed 32.25 out of 30 miles for the month.

It was cloudy here today, so not really pretty for the Easter sunrise services. But it was a nice morning for running. I ran 11 miles to finish up March with 146 miles. It was warm this morning, about 68° - 70°F, but not too bad. I did wear shorts and a tank top. And there are starting to be more wildflowers and I finally saw some bluebonnets.

I fell 10.5 miles short of my March goal due to the cancellation of my 25K race due to the storms and flooding in Charleston. Onward to April!5 -
9 miles on a trail near my BIL's place south of Nashville. It was like a city park and had plenty of elevation and lots of technical trail. It was only 73F but even that mild heat made it tough.
After Easter dinner we went for a drive. Here's the entrance to Lazerus Lake's place. My BIL lives just 5 miles away
Next stop, Alabama to run the Pinhoti Trail before meeting my brother for camping and fishing.6 -
Thanks @shanaber . Congrats on making your monthly goal!
Nice running @kgirlhart . Glad you saw bluebonnets.
You did great @Teresa502 . A long race cancellation threw the wrench in your plans.
What a nice place for a run @7lenny7 ! Enjoy your run and camping and fishing.1 -
I started the month off Monday with a 10 mile trail run on the Pinhoti Trail in NW Alabama. It's such a great trail with some decent elevation as well. 2200 feet on this run. I started from this same trailhead last year but this year went SW instead of NE. The trail had several river crossings, a couple of which required a wet foot crossing so I got to run with wet feet most of the time.
The trail was marked for an upcoming trail race, the Southern States 200. I looked it up and saw that you get 100 hours to go 200 miles. At that pace I might be able to finish. Hmmmm......5 -
@7lenny7 - looks like a beautiful place to run! Not sure I would want to run the entire way with wet feet though.
Why don't you come over to April and join us there!
