Great run in the wind @kgirlhart . It's been blowing here all day too and made it feel soooo cold. I stayed in.
Funny reel @tarun_yadavA !
Great 20 miles yesterday @TheMrWobbly . You're going to do great on race day! I'm surprised it is only 23 people!
@yirara I'm so sorry it didn't go well and your tummy made you abort the run you were training for. I hope you get some answers from the muscle biopsy. You'll make that PR next time!
I did a treadmill session this morning. I walked a total of 1 mile for warm up and cool down and ran 2.1 miles. The "run" was a run/walk for 4/2 minutes. The runs were 2 min each at 4.5-5.1, 5.0 with the walks being at 4.0 mph. I ended with 2:52 min at 6.0 mph. Not too bad for me. Avg pace was 12:48 min/mile. Avg HR was 136 with a max of 162 bpm. I didn't want to push too hard since I didn't run much last week.

I ran an uneventful 3.m miles this morning. It was 59°F and not as windy as yesterday. It's going to be cold again in the morning. I guess I will have to pull out the sleeves again.

I had one of those annoying runs this morning - I didn’t really want to go so mucked about. I finally headed out and found myself absolutely loving it, but was subsequently short on time thanks to the aforementioned procrastination, so could only fit in 5K. I guess it serves me right.9
-
Morning all.
Got in 5miles (at 10"01)
@TheMrWobbly haha thanks; and great run too!
@quilteryoyo thank you! 😊9 -

Hi everyone!
I decided to get a tempo run in today because tomorrow I have max 30 minutes to run. I had no pain so that was great! I couldn’t quite get my splits on the way back. I was really running into the wind and I just couldn’t crank it up as much as I wanted. But it still was a nice run! I ran 11km.
187/250km for March.13 -
Another good run this morning. Ran with a friend which was a nice distraction. Didn’t worry about my pace - I just chatted.11

Warning - Shoe porn below.
My recently purchased shoes
Saucony Peregrines (two 13s and a 12) in the top row
Saucony Kinvara 12's in the bottom row
Just $45 to $60 per pair, all on clearance. My average price for all running shoes is just $61, and I've only paid full price for 2 pair in my life.
The Kinvara has replaced the ASICS Gel Nimbus as my favorite road shoe. Very light, very durable and very comfortable.
I won't call the Peregrine my favorite trail shoe yet, but I do like them and will be giving them a full test on my 100m race. I'm bringing three pair to the race... 2 pair of Peregrines and a pair of Altra Lone Peaks. I haven't decided what I'll start with yet. I have two more trail runs prior to the race and will decide after those runs.11 -
I'm not going as far to say you have a problem @7lenny7, but..... Really nice collection of Saucony's tho!!!!!
Got in 7 miles this evening. Felt much better today. Probably due to the nice 57F temp and 8mph N breeze.
I do have 6 other pair of Saucony's as well. 4 are in rotation and 2 more in reserve I'm a sucker for running shoes on clearance. By my estimate I have enough running shoes to last another 4600 miles. I guess I better go running and start using them up!
Nice run!10 -

Good job with keeping yourself on track with the 20 mile run @TheMrWobbly!
@martaindale great job on the weight loss and thanks for sharing the before/after photos.
@tarun_yadavA way to keep the streak going!
@Laurz9191 glad your calf is better!
@yirara sorry to hear about the upset tummy while running - bummer.
Great runs all!!
Love the rainbow shoe porn @7lenny7!
I just ordered two more pairs of shoes myself (including a pair of trail shoes which I plan to use when hubby and I are hiking in the mountains). Plus, bought another pair at the running store yesterday. All ASICS for me. Difficult to find shoes in my size, so that’s why I stock up when I find a good fit for me.9 -

It was cold this morning. 36°F feels like 30°F. I had to wear long pants and 2 pair of sleeves. I know I shouldn't complain. It will be hot soon enough. But I really dislike the cold. It was still a pretty morning though. The moon was pretty and I ran 6 miles.
Congratulations on your highest mileage month @daria0919 !
Nice shoes @7lenny7 !

Great running @Laurz9191 , @ContraryMaryMary , @kgirlhart and @Mari33a !
Love the shoe porn @7lenny7 ! I love all the colors. I never seem to find my shoes on clearance. Maybe I should look harder.
Glad you had a better run today @Scott6255 !
@daria0919 Congrats on your mileage this month! You're doing great.
I walked 2 miles on the treadmill this afternoon, at 3.8 mph. Then, tonight, I finally got to play tennis. Three times WAS the charm. It was fun and my partners and I won 2 of the 3 sets we played.

Morning all!
Got in 6.54M (at 09"51).
Day 87!
Out for wife's birthday yesterday... So bit of a calorie splurge.
Dessert p0rn pics
'Paris Brest' french pastry... But got as a 'sharer' for 6. If you love hazelnuts and pralines... You'll love this. Think I prefer individual size? Kinda like pizza? Gets lost when you shrink it. Dimensions change... But in reverse.
And one of me being me!
With my youngest
Had 3 lol.
Nice collection @7lenny7 !
PS: pop quiz if anyone's interested...
11 states require foreign nationals to get a special drivers permit to drive.
Regardless of you having a legit licence from a Hertz/Enterprise regulated country.
Any guesses?
(Clue: I'm driving through some of them!)

I got in a 5 mile run this morning. For some reason it was extra hard to roll out of the bed at 4:00 am. The temp was a nice 45F.
Nice looking shoes @7lenny7!
I ordered a pair of Asics on March 14 from the company and I still don’t have them. Tracking information shows them leaving Georgia on March 18 but nothing since. I emailed them but just got the delivery dates can change based on weather delays, carrier difficulties, etc.
Happy Birthday to Mrs. @tarun_yadavA! Your son is adorable (the pastry was pretty nice looking also)! I guessed VA was probably one of the states that you needed a special permit. Where I live in VA but work in TN, the discrepancies in the laws regarding vehicles and taxes is quite prominent. VA requires each vehicle to have a safety inspection once a year. If it rolls in TN, you can drive it! VA has a state income tax/TN does not.

@tarun_yadavA Nice running today. Happy Birthday to your wife! Love the pictures. That dessert looks delicious. I got three of the states correct: AL, GA, and VA. That is a crazy rule. I wouldn't even think about something like that when traveling. (I only tried for the one's you would be driving through. LOL)If it rolls in TN, you can drive it!

BTW - this is now the most officially recorded mileage that I’ve done in one month since I joined this group 7 months ago. Will definitely get to my first 60+ mile month this time.
Yay me!! 😆
Way to go @daria0919 ! That's fantastic!
@quilteryoyo I have the best luck finding shoes on clearance at Sierra, REI or on the various manufacturer's websites. Of course, it's always the older versions, which is just fine by me. I'm often several versions behind.
@tarun_yadavA that does look quite tasty! That pastry doesn't look to bad either. Great photo of you and your son.

Out for 8 nondescript miles last night. Not hard, not easy. Just there.
Ever since Minnesota legalized cannabis last August, there's been an increasing amount of that distinctive aroma in the air when I run. At first it was may be once every couple of weeks, then every week and not nearly every time I run in our sleepy suburban town I catch a whiff of the herb. Last night I could smell it at three different points. Not judging, just an observation.

Hi runners. All went well with the small surgery. Have a 4cm incision in my leg, a bit less leg muscle now and have hardly any pain. Only the local anesthetic stopped working once I'd left the hospital and was waiting at the bus stop. As usual. That was pretty much 15 minutes after the surgeon was finished, btw. 🤣 Shame I could not see as they didn't want to put the head part of the operating table upwards. So now about 2 weeks no running to let it all heal and then I can start again10

My target is within touching distance 🙈. The weather is freezing & I picked up a headcold from yesterday. I went out this evening hoping it might shake it a bit but I’m feeling achy all over now. If I hadn’t done it I’d probably still be feeling achy and annoyed I’d missed a run. Hopefully a nights sleep will do the trick9 -
Feel better @Mari33a - hopefully a good night’s sleep will shake it.
I went around the block again today and am starting to feel a bit tired, but I am so much happier with my pace, and how I was feeling in myself. Rest day tomorrow.8 -
Hi everyone!
I had a longer break than expected today so I got a 10.3km run in - in a t-shirt . I was supposed to go easy pace, but it was the first time I’ve been out this year when it was perfectly warm and sunny and I just couldn’t help picking it up a bit. No worries though, tomorrow morning should be back to the usual cold temps .
197.4/250km for March.9 -
Nice run @7lenny7 . Interesting observations about the cannabis. Maybe I don't find shoes on clearance because I don't look hard enough. I don't mind older versions either.
Glad it went well @yirara . Hopefully those 2 weeks will pass quickly. When will you get the results?
@Mari33a I hope you feel better tomorrow!
Glad you are feeling better about everything @ContraryMaryMary .
Sounds like a really nice run @Laurz9191 .
I got a bit of a late start and was running behind, so did a short treadmill workout this morning. I walked a total of 1 mile for warm up and cool down and ran one mile at 4.5 mph....no walk breaks. Avg HR was 128 with a max of 140 bpm.
57.10/85.00 mile goal
It's obvious that I'm not going to make my goal, but I'm okay with that. It's been a weird month for me.
5 -
I guess I'm done for the month. Had to practice my golf game today, and will again tomorrow. Preparing to go to Austin Friday to play golf with my son and his girlfriend's father (meeting her parents for the first time).
Hope everyone has a great Easter! 🐇💗10 -
@quilteryoyo I have no idea when I'll get results. Discussion is at the end of May. I think they took a sample for microscopy and one for metabolic testing or something like that. They took two anyway, and I should have asked. the first part should probably be very quick. So lets see. If there's one specific result that has been denied as 'nah, can't be' over and over during the past 10 years or so due to the absence of a specific result in blood tests and my exercising test results while all publish literature and teaching is about totally sedentary people I might cry. Or laugh. Not decided yet. 🤣 I still think it sounds like this fairly benign condition if it wasn't for the blood test, and this doctor might think the same, and at least thinks my body can't properly utilize muscle glycogen. Lets see. Super exciting8

Morning all.
Got in 4 miles (at 09"35).
@7lenny7 lol. That Session IPA went down a treat!
Plan on hitting up 5 Breweries in the 5 states I'm stopping in!
My friend and I go to this one called 'Funky Buddha' in Ft Laudy!
@Scott6255 good luck Team Rubenstein for the Golf out in Austin!
@Teresa502 @quilteryoyo @daria0919 thanks ladies!
RE: Permit for driving. Yeah came as a last minute 'oh cr-p' kinda surprise 2 days before flying out for Roadtrip back in 2021.
Most people from here just hit up the 4 states that are the big tourist draws (NY NV CA FL) , so never really think of it!
@Laurz9191 well done on the Half 🙌🏽9
