I ran a Half distance. 13.13M (at 08"41).
Don't ask.
I have a mental condition.
Probably dunzo with the streak too.
Have a nice weekend all
@tarun_yadavA WOW! that is fast. We probably pretty much all share that mental condition. Super run and if that's the end of the streak you went out like a FLASssshhhhhhhHHHHHHHH🌟🌟🌟
@quilteryoyo great photos. I wonder if they were hoping for a boy tho. LOL.5 -
13.1 miles this morning. I channeled my inner @tarun_yadavA and pulled out a top 4 (tied) fastest HM. Thanks for the inspiration bud!

Thanks @ContraryMaryMary . Great park run this morning!\
Thanks @kgirlhart . Great mileage for the month.
Thanks @tarun_yadavA . Great run today. Your post made me giggle. Excellent way to end your streak.
@SummerSkier Thanks. And, yes, they were trying for a boy. We had hoped and I had even dreamed it was a boy, but no. Summer says she's done, so I guess three girls is it. They're the cutest though.
Wow. Amazing @Scott6255 !
I got up early this morning and did a two mile walk on the treadmill before breakfast. I was supposed to play league tennis this afternoon and didn't want to overdo. But, I got a text about 11 that we had to forfeit my court because my partner is sick. So, no tennis and I'm not motivated to do anything else. I wish I had an inner @tarun_yadavA and @Scott6255 to channel.

I searched the computer to see if I had my progress photos on here, but they were on the hard drive that crashed a few years ago.
I did find a photo we took for my mother in 2015 a week before I started my journey
225 + lbs.
I lost over 100 lbs.
from July 8, 2015 to December 2015 I went from 225 ish to 154 into 'normal' BMI
Just continued on down from there. I have been as low as 116 lbs.
I am sitting at 128 lbs. as of right now.
this from Oct. 2023, 117 lbs

It’s been raining off and on all day but I got out for a 4.37 mile run this morning. Very windy all day also. It was 50F when I ran at 7:30 this morning and 36F now at 4:30 in the afternoon so definitely getting colder again. It’s been one of those weeks where I have questioned why I’m even doing this running thing. I’m slow and sometimes I think why even bother? Why get out in the cold and the wind and the rain? I think it’s probably just the winter blues even though the calendar says it spring.
Welcome @Andysanch11!
Yikes @7lenny7 – I would not want to be trying to explain those packages to the police!
Thanks for the birthday wishes @7lenny7 @kgirlhart @Scott6255 @tarun_yadavA @daria0919 @Mari3a @quilteryoyo @shanaber and @TheMrWobbly!
Cute pics@quilteryoyo!
Great running everyone – you’re a big part of the reason that I can find any motivation at all!

WOW. Huge transformation @AlphaHowls !
Thanks @Teresa502 . You are doing great. I totally understand your feelings about running lately. I feel like the time change has affected me more this year than it ever has before and that may have something to do with it. I hope you get your mojo back soon. You got colder a lot quicker than us. We're still 51F. But it is supposed to be below freezing in the morning. The good thing about this time of year is that when the sun shines (like tomorrow) it will warm up quickly.7 -
I am an old computer illiterate person, so I can't figure out how to put photo's side by side. When trying to find pictures, I realized that I rarely get pictures of myself. So, these are the best I have for before and after.
This is from July of 2015. I weighed around 183. My highest was 187 pounds. (And Tippy was much younger. )
This was Aug of 2020 when I weighed around 135. My lowest was 132 in Oct of 2020.9 -
@AlphaHowls that's an amazing before and after, and even more amazing that you've stuck to it. Well done!
@quilteryoyo you girls are so cute all sitting together. Congrats on the new grand-neice!
Atta boy, @scott6255 and @tarun_yadavA !
I skipped my run on Thursday because of work, thinking of doing it Friday instead. Skipped my run Friday because I was too wiped out, physically and emotionally to care.
I did sleep in this morning and went for a great run today. We got 4 inches of snow Thursday night/Friday morning but most of it had melted so not too much slush or mud on the trails. I ran into one of my running friends and had a great talk with him an his wife. The temperature was hovering right around the freezing point and somehow I just nailed the right clothes to wear (tight sleeveless and midweight top, my SmartWool tights, thin hiking socks, knit gloves and a buff for my ears) and never got cold, and never sweated profusely. That rarely happens.
I ended up with 21 miles to finish the day and a pretty good pace compared to my last two runs on the same trail (12:40 vs. 13:32 and 13:07) so I'm happy with that. Oh and the best part... No pain from the neuroma! That's a full 7 days without.
I have a 10 mile run planned for tomorrow but we're supposed to get 8 inches of snow turning to rain and I have a work project going out Tuesday so I'll likely skip it. I also need to find time to pack for my trip to Georgia. I leave Friday night.

Morning all.
Thanks for the kind wishes @Scott6255 @SummerSkier @quilteryoyo @7lenny7 !
Seems it was a Half marathon distance kinda weekend for our little group! 😊
Great stuff @Scott6255 (amazing pace too 🙌🏽 ) , @eleanorhawkins and of course, as always... @AlphaHowls !
Great running too... @SummerSkier getting some of those splits sub-9 ... And @Laurz9191 on the comeback trail!
@Teresa502
"I’m slow and sometimes I think why even bother? Why get out in the cold and the wind and the rain? "
>> I'm sure @Laurz9191 will back me up on this one... Because being slow and it being cold outside still beats the Elliptical! Lol.
(Cos it really sucks when you can't run!)
>> I'm sure its just winter blues. You're doing great 👍🏽 just get back out there!
Have a lovely Sunday everyone!
PS:
Great before and after pics @quilteryoyo and @AlphaHowls !

That’s fantastic @7lenny7 - I’m so glad your run was pain-free (and optimally dressed).
Your half was pretty impressive @tarun_yadavA - nice turn of speed and a great way to finish your streak.3 -
Thank you @ContraryMaryMary !
Soooo didn't quite end streak! Extended it by another day.
Combination of: 1. 9yr old wanted to run today (didn't last week because it was raining and he had a runny nose!), 2. I'm not as sore as I thought I'd be, 3. Realised if I did one more - it'd be a round 12 weeks!
Got in 4.36M (at 10"37).
Have a nice Sunday all.

@tarun_yadavA just one more day... hahah. sign of a true addict.
It was a really nice day to run yesterday but this morning is sort of cloudy and feels like it's drippy. But tomorrow is supposed to be rainy so if some of you ahead in time zone would kindly get some running in to motivate that would be helpful. 84 out of 100 which is a low running month but I am happy with the pace. My purple clemantis is vining up nicely so I hope to have flowers like my ticker in a few weeks.
7 -
@AlphaHowls and @quilteryoyo thanks for sharing your before and after photos. Inspirational stories by so many in this group! Well done all!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Catching up: Managed 1.5 on the walking pad yesterday and got in 6.05 miles this morning. It was about 30 degrees with a feels like of 25 degrees with brisk winds. Went for distance and time on my feet, not speed.
10 -
Hi Everyone!
So after a pain free 3km test run yesterday, I aimed for 6km today in between showers but was feeling so good (maybe also an addict?), I did 8km. I’m thinking about just jumping right back into this weeks’ marathon training as my leg feels great and there are no super long runs on the schedule. I’m not going to attempt to make up anything I missed last week. So no 20 miler. But, besides this past week I had been sticking to the plan, so I think I will still be ready as long as my body keeps giving me the green light .
Great job @tarun_yadavA @Scott6255 and @eleanorhawkins with your HM runs!
@Teresa502 @quilteryoyo I hope you get some sun, flowers, and can have sime great runs again soon! I agree with @tarun_yadavA running > elliptical > sitting on the couch. Sometimes it is hard to break through periods of low motivation though.
162.9/250km for March.

Once more around the block for me this morning. A bit of a low energy day - it was a busy weekend - but heartbreak hill didn’t make me feel like crying so that’s a big win.
Also, after plunging from high summer into rather chilly temperatures, the weather has sorted itself back into autumnal mode so it was cool but not nippy, and pleasantly misty, first thing. Should be a lovely day.7 -
Been MIA for several days. Still trucking along. Just life/work eating up my spare time. I caught up on 79 comments from you chatty folks! Lots of good running and so many inspiring stories.
As for me, I logged religiously for probably 2-3 years. I don’t log anymore but I meal prep, so I’m still kind of logging. I prep Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, dessert for 6 days a week. Saturday I plan nothing and some Saturdays are healthier than others. I have had this schedule throughout my weight loss and now maintenance. I started at 180 lbs or so back in early 2018. I lost about 50 lbs over the next year and have been maintaining around 135 lbs (+/- a few) ever since, so about 5 years.
I’m glad to see your calf is healing @Laurz9191 and hope it cooperates through the back end of your training cycle.
Also happy to see @7lenny7 is feeling better too and back on the trails. And, yes, you are totally getting arrested. Could you have possibly packaged those in a more suspicious way?!?

3/22: 3 miles
3/24: 8.9 miles
Logging 2 runs to get caught up. I also did a couple of walks in there but I don’t usually log those miles. Strava tells me I have walked 18 miles or so this month so far. I’ve been trying to get at least a short walk in on days where I don’t run. It’s been a nice break and helps me maintain the habit.
We have had a nice dip in temps for the last few days, and I’m very grateful. The almost 9 miles today was much more pleasant than the 8 miles last weekend.
I also got my summer garden planted this week. I have a friend who runs a small nursery as a side business. She brings me plants and this year she loaded me up. 3 different kinds of basil, 3 different small tomatoes, 2 spicy peppers, 2 sweet peppers, and some thyme. At least it’s all stuff I use quite a bit of. I think I will probably have basil coming out of my ears by the end of summer though!9 -
Thanks @7lenny7 . Great running and pace increase on that trail for such a long run. AND Yeah for no pain!
Thanks @tarun_yadavA . Glad your son motivated you for one more streak run!
Thanks @daria0919 . Very nice long run today!
Thanks @Laurz9191 . Great run and glad your leg is better and not painful at all. I agree that you should be fine just skipping last week's scheduled runs. You have kept up with the plan so well.
Great running @ContraryMaryMary . I'm glad that heartbreak hill didn't make you cry today. I hope you had a lovely day.
Love your transformation pictures @martaindale. Looks like we started out about the same weight on this journey. You have done great keeping yours off. I hope to get back to 135 and stay there. I love that you meal prep. I don't feel like I have the discipline for that, but may be something I should give a try. Great running. Glad the weather was better for you this week. Yeah for a friend that gives you garden plants. I hope it all does well.
I did my normal Sunday exercise and walked 2 miles on the treadmill between church and lunch with mom. After an afternoon nap, Tippy and I took about a mile stroll (not counted) in the neighbor's field. It was a beautiful day here...sunny and 67F (19.4C).

It was really windy today. I started my run by giving myself permission to cut it short if I needed to. It was 60°F, with 25 mph winds. They said we might have gust up to 40 mph. So I set out thinking if it was too bad I would cut it short. But it ended up being a pretty good run. I was able to go 10 miles. It was a little tough a few times running into the wind, but overall it was good.

Great news @Laurz9191 keep it steady!
So the streak is coming to end is it @tarun_yadavA ? I think you enjoy it too much!
For those interested you only need 23 people in a room before the chances of one of them sharing your birthday is more than evens.
Training still on track with 20 miles on Sunday. One more long run and then let the taper begin!10 -
Great long run! @TheMrWobbly ! Enjoy your taper!
Great before/after pics @martaindale ! I also do my own version of meal prep. When I cook something healthy that usually no one else in the family will touch I still cook a large batch and freeze smaller portions to eat for lunch and sometimes dinner. That way I always have something healthy that I can grab. No excuses .
@tarun_yadavA I’m glad to hear the streak goes on. Maybe you will make it to 88 after all .
My run this morning went well. The weather left a lot to be desired - very moist and mushy. But I ran an enjoyable easy paced 13.1km. Tomorrow we are supposed to get some of the nicer side of spring . I’m looking forward to it.

Ok, this was supposed to be the 10km I trained for for ages. Unfortunately I ate something wrong and had an upset tummy when I set out, resulting in intestinal cramps every 500m or so. So.. could not finish. But I learned something new about my body: a bit of tummy distress is enough to make all skeletal muscles so weak that I can't run at all, and even walking is difficult. Ok, muscle biopsy in Wednesday, and once I'm healed I'll try again.10 -
