    Hello, how do I join this challenge please? I'm new to MFP. Used fitbit last year and the challenges there really helped so I think having some community support works great for me. Any advise welcome. Thanks

    Random stuff about me:
    I am 59 years old this month (ouch). I currently live in Texas with my hubby and crew of kitty babies. I am a neonatal nurse practitioner and work 24hour shifts in a busy NICU. If it looks like I disappear on random days…that’s why! About 10 years ago I lost 135 pounds. Never made it to goal but just sort of leveled off at ~200 pounds. Over time I gained back nearly 50. Working on getting back at least to my low weight of 200. I would like to eventually make it to 150 where I think I would be comfortable.

    @asemenitari Welcome to the group. I use my PC for myfitnesspal. I keep a document that I just add to daily and then post here. There are no specific rules. You can post your goals, your weight (or not), your exercise, your thoughts, your recipes, your research results, your ideas, your opinions, or just use it as a personal diary. Anything you share may help others too. It's wonderful to have you here!

    The water weight dropped in bursts and pangs last week. February isn't a weight loss leader. Some of it is obviously due to the surgery in the middle of the month. But there is an argument for the last Monday in February being the worst point in my cycle. Whereas the first Monday was the best point of my cycle.

    January was good and I will try for a kg in March. I started this challenge with a goal for the challenge of 71 kg. And I will use general rule of rounding to consider anything below 71.5 a win.

    MY CHALLENGE WEIGHT LOSS GOAL:140

    Last time I had challenged myself to eat at restaurants only for social activities, not alone, and then just an appetizer and drink. I lost 4 pounds. So I am going to continue this, and add another challenge. 2 bean dishes per week at home. 1 bean soup recipe and vegetarian pasta and peas...every week!

    So the bean dishes are tasty & have been really good for my wallet. I have been getting entrees à la carte like one taco or a sandwich without a side instead of appetizers as sometimes that is the healthier option.
    I refuse to suffer just to lose 10 pounds! I'm brainstorming again to think of some sort of tweak to cut calories enough to start losing weight..I did just discover the smart bmi website, which puts 144 as a healthy weight for me. That made me feel a lot better!

    I don't know how I lost a few pounds since last time, except I have been drinking less sugar in my coffee in the afternoons. I was gifted Swiss colony chocolates so I thought that it wouldn't make much difference. 😋

    Feb 28: 150...It's warming up and the trees are starting to bloom. For March I am sticking to my big 2 cup coffee with cream and sugar, but 0 calorie or almost 0 calorie drinks for the rest of the day. This should cut atleast 200 calories per day!🫣

    02/29-177.0-(Trend Weight: 179.5)- My lowest weight since the 2020 Pandemic shutdown! For the next couple of months I will be eyeing the 160’s and dreaming, longing and yearning for that new decade which will bring me even better health. The final count is a 0.6 loss for me in February. I will continue to make a 4 lb loss my monthly goal as I would love to lose 4 pounds a month but it just seems my body has a different idea. So any progress is very good and I am very happy to end with a loss. See you tomorrow as we continue on this wonderful challenge.

    03/01-DNW-(Trend Weight: DNW)- No weigh Friday as I get up extra early to get grandson ready for the bus. I only weigh later if I lay back down but today I can’t. Also I take my once-per-week Fosamax on this day with 8 oz of water upon waking. Yesterday was a good clean eating day but hardly any movement or exercise so my calorie burn overall was very low. Today will probably not allow me much better. One of the new windows was put in yesterday in the bedroom and floor in bath was prepped for new sub=flooring. A flurry of activity here. Well, my friends, Its a new month. Time to “March” into better health and a more optimal weight (for most of us). Let’s go!

    I made some adjustments for this month because my original goals are no longer realistic. I’ve learned a lot these past couple months and lost a lot of inches too, but my weight loss was not as fast as initially planned.

    03/01-DNW-(Trend Weight: DNW)- No weigh Friday as I get up extra early to get grandson ready for the bus. I only weigh later if I lay back down but today I can’t. Also I take my once-per-week Fosamax on this day with 8 oz of water upon waking. Yesterday was a good clean eating day but hardly any movement or exercise so my calorie burn overall was very low. Today will probably not allow me much better. One of the new windows was put in yesterday in the bedroom and floor in bath was prepped for new sub=flooring. A flurry of activity here. Well, my friends, Its a new month. Time to “March” into better health and a more optimal weight (for most of us). Let’s go!

    03/04-177.8-(Trend Weight: 179.0)- I’m doing okay for the most part. I just have to watch those night time snacks. I will say it is hard to get my fitness in with the crew that is here all day for the renovation. I’m trying to fit what I can in during the late evening but by then I’m so tired. But there is no excuse to do absolutely nothing so I am making sure I do something. I’ve also fit in a little extra strength training with arm weights.

    March 1: 197 lbs - so I had no idea how much I lost for the month of February, but obviously the first weekend of March I gained 5 pounds during that month. I was traveling the last three weeks of February which threw off my workout routine and my diet off not being able to log calories due to meetings and work, but this is why I entered the challenge. I need to teach myself and learn from my mistakes and start making myself a priority. Onto the next week and next weigh in and hopefully I can get rid of the 5 pounds and end my goal at 190 which would still be 5 pounds less than when I entered three month challenge
