Being Fat and Wearing High Heels.........
This is what I feel like when I wear high heels and I am over weight............
I don't have cankles but for some reason I don't know, I don't think it looks balanced when a woman is overweight and wears heels. Does anyone else feel like they should not be wearing high heels because they are fat and might look like Miss Piggy - cankles and two big sausages for feet??? LOL?? Anyone?? Or am I just effin' crazy?! lol

ah yeah.... I had this same concern. That and Im really tall so I just felt like a cankled amazonian when I wore them.
Im over it now! Bring on the heels!0 -
I can't wear any heels, even when I was slim. I get sore toes.
So used to wearing trainers now and slip on summer shoes that are flat.0 -
dont care what you look like but they are oh so bad for your feet , your ankles, your back and if you are carrying a bit to much poundage then compound all of the above...
FLATS for me!!!
ps love the pics0 -
LOL!!!!0

It depends on the heels. For those super high skinny stiletto type heels, yeah I wouldn't wear them because I would feel weird doing so. But the more thicker the heel is the better it looks on me. I generally like to wear knee-high high-heeled boots in the winter0

I always panic because my dad says I have his sister's ankles (cankles in a more polite sense!). But I shouldnt really because Im crap at walking in heels anyway!0

I don't wear any dainty or delicate-looking heels, but the added height from heels makes my body look more in proportion (I have a long torso and short legs).0
-
TOTALLY understand what you mean. I only wear heels with pants. It's going to take me awhile to work up the nerve to wear them with a skirt.0
-
I think I look like a mozzerella cheese on stilts. 2½ - 3 inches is the limit0

If you don't have cankles, I don't really see the problem. I personally think wearing heels always makes the legs look slimmer I suppose it depends on where you carry your weight, if you have alot round the lower leg/ankle area I can see why it might be a problem. Even still, it wouldn't stop me wearing them.0

I love my heels. Heck I wore heels (smallish ones) 9 months pregnant even. I never quit wearing them.
I never had cankles either though.
So I've always worn and loved my heels!!0 -
Not all bodies are the same!
I am very apple-shaped & when I was 260 I had a huge belly & boobs but the legs of 120 lb lady. If you hid the rest of my body behind a screen & just saw my legs you woulda thought I was a porn star seriously!! Not that I looked good... yeah my legs looked great but I was shaped like a snow-cone.
Anyways my point is not all fat ladies... even like 300 pound ladies have cankles & sausage feet but your post made me laugh really hard with the pics & all0 -
With all due respect to this beautiful chick (we can all respectfully agree she is overweight/obese), isn't the first thing that comes to your mind "holy eff, those heels are going to snap in two with all that weight!!!"

Why would you WANT to wear them?? I've never understood- way too painful. Of course I do have some Fred Flintstone feet so maybe that's my problem0

You just got LOW SELF Esteem! Too bad for YOU because I have seen some heavy women ROCK Heals...they had nice-big legs and well proportioned...guys couldn't take their eyes off of them! I have to give Big Girls who are well proportioned their Due...they Rock some things. All I can say is, "YOU GO GIRL."0 -
I love my heels, the higher the better, makes legs look longer, but only when I go out. Can't cope with them all day0

I admit that I do not ever buy cheap heels, I spend money on them. They don't hurt when you buy good brands (and don't go SUPER high). Cheap (and that means Kohl's, Target, etc) they just don't have the cushioning that makes the high end shoes (even middle of the road shoes) more comfortable.
Also it takes practice to walk in heels. I can walk a long time in mine and not have my feet hurt, heck I have some that have a 2+ inch heel that I can run in, they aren't super thin stilettos but they aren't a chunky heel either.0 -
I LOVE high heels, but I'm not cursed with cankles, so maybe that's part of it.0
-
omg this thread makes me LOL! i always have feared looking bad in them even though i don't have cankles and never have. i'm more of a flats kind of gal, but i must say i always get complimented when i wear heels so maybe i should wear them more often!0
-
Also, I think that model on the magazine cover is ROCKING her heels. She looks great.0
-
i rock some heels. i'm nearly six feet tall and i have thick ankles - not cankles, but not really defined either, they can't make up their minds - and i love them. i feel sexy in them. i don't worry about the small heels either. i wear a 12, so they're all designed for a man's weight anyway. love heels!0
-
I'm the chick that is afraid to wear heels until I lose more weight. I just broke my ankle taking laundry down the stairs so there's a definite possibility that I would break my ankle wearing heels :laugh:0
-
go out in high heels, and come back in flip flops! LOL :laugh:0
-
The degree of my 'canklage' seems to vary from week to week. On semi cankle days I will wear my heels but on one of my many omfg full on canklemania days, I like to keep the trotters encased in boots.:happy:0

LOL!!
Yeah, I'm scared I'm going to fall and break a bone lol. I'm definitely going to try when I am at my goal weight
THIS... THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what I feel like when I walk in heels....
ROFLLLLL0 -
Also, I'm scared this will happen to me if I am sporting some high pumps... lol
