Hi everyone, (Jeda, thanks so much for offering this opportunity to continue and to make a fresh start!)
My name is Carole. I live and work full time in the Metro Boston area. I live alone in an apartment where I've been over 40 years but that might change this year. I hope to get another cat soon, maybe late Spring/early Summer. (My last cat passed away at 28 years old this past July.)
I'm in 65 years old and my 66th birthday will be August 18th of this year. At one time my height was 5'4.5", but I just had a bone density scan on 3/20 and was told that my height is now only 5'2.5"! (I will double-check that when I have my annual physical on 6/24, which coincidentally happens to be on the last day listed for this challenge!)
My first weigh-in for this challenge will be on 3/31, since my weigh-in days are Sundays, but I will post here on the days listed above, one week at a time, each Monday. I will also post my scale app stats to help me stay accountable. I plan to aim for a loss of 1-1.5 lbs. per week; ~5 lbs. per month and I'd like to lose at least 15 lbs. for this challenge.
STARTING WEIGHT AND DATE WITH MFP(MY FITNESS PAL): Not sure, but I've been a member for many years (with countless "resets"), but I do know that my all-time highest weight was 217 lbs. on February 29, 2008, when I was 49 years old!

Hey everyone, I'm Crystal! Just found this and I'm super excited to start with y'all and read about everyone's journeys. I'm 40, married and have 3 kids. My husband has never had any weight issues so he is the type that can eat what he wants and when he wants. Unfortunately I am not. I actually became a part of MFP a little over 5 years ago and got down to goal weight. Covid happend and a lot of things between then and now and I gained it all back. I started my journey again this past October (2023) and I'm slowly but surely getting the weight back off (around 25lbs lost so far). My mindset is different now than it was then because I know this lifestyle is not temporary. I'm trying to create habits that I can carry on forever to keep myself healthy. So I am in for another round. Missed my goal by 2 kgs for the winter challenge but I lost 3.7 kg and am still capable of reaching my annual goal of either less than 70 kg. Or 11.8 kg weight loss.
For this challenge I will aim for 3 kgs total. A kg a month does not seem like much. But I struggle with motivation. My big weakness is I do really well for a while and then I do really bad. Don't know if it's complacency or self sabotaging. Ideally I would even out more.
I was expecting a whoosh last week that never came. I am hoping that at some point that whoosh will appear. Might have to give up salt licorice. (It is delicious no matter what the rest of the world thinks) and sugar for it but I believe I might have gotten in to sponge mode again.
