Egg Nog Latte Recipe :: copy cat to Starbucks Egg Nog Latte
    Ingredients:
1/2 cup egg nog (Borden is very thick and good and Starbucks uses a local brand according to the area they are in)
1/4 cup whole milk or 2% milk. (recommend whole for frothing)
1 – 2 shots espresso or 1/4 c Espresso Roast coffee (ground and brewed strong)
    a sprinkle of ground nutmeg
    Instructions:
Combine cold egg nog with cold whole milk. Non-fat milk or soymilk can be substituted for the high-fat milk.
Steam the egg nog – milk mixture until the temperature reaches 145°F. or use stove-top and do NOT scorch. You just won’t have the foam unless you use some sort of mixer to create the foam. Hey, it works!
Egg nog heats and scalds quicker than milk, so watch your heat temperature closely.
Pull your espresso shots and place in mug or pour the 1/4 cup strong coffee in mug.
Fill the remaining room in mug with steamed egg nog mixture. Add extra eggnog foam to the top of the mug.
    sprinkle with ground nutmeg

I'm going to try this with a caffeine free coffee substitute (Roma or Kafix). I'm trying to do less coffee but I LOVE pumpkin spice lattes!

Yummers! I was going to make a protein shake today, but it's chilly and I'm going out to pick apples so now I'm going to make this for a treat when I come in...and add my protein powder!

I have been going crazy with pumpkin lately (just check out my food diary!), so this fits the bill perfectly!

    Thank you!

bump. will give this a try later. Thanks
  • Tasty! Thanks :)
  • Thank you! I will be making this for sure! An FYI...the pumpkin is hard to find until around thanksgiving time. I always stock up around that time of year.

i guess im lucky cause my store has it year round! if you live near a Wegmans...theyll have it :)

Which Wegmans do you live near?? I heart them! I miss them!! Lived in Rochester, NY for a couple of years and worked in one, but now back on the West Coast.

I work at the Newark Wegmans....near Geneva. so pretty close to rochester :)

YUM!!! Thank you!! I am going to have to try this! I love the Pumpkin Spice Latte but have not had one yet this year because I dont want to drink pure sugar!! lol I looked up a white mocha the other day just to get my craving in check and found out that it has 61 grams of sugar in a 16 oz. Needless to say that curbed my craving right there!!!!!
