Hi Everyone!!
My name is Julie and I have recently been turned on to myfitnesspal which is great! I love how there is a phone ap so I can enter at work or on the go! I used to use another site and ran a group named very similarly to the subject name!
I'd like to start it up and welcome anyone to join! Get That Beach Body is meant to keep you accountable and give exercise plans, goals, and in general be supportive to each other. So here's how it works!
There is a daily check in with the following format:
Did I follow my diet today?
Did I drink enough water?
Cardio: (what and how long)
Abs: (any ab work and how much)
Challenge completed?
Did I take my vitamin?
How do I feel about my day?
Next there is a weekly weigh in on Wednesdays with the follow format:
Name:
Date:
Starting weight:
Last week's weight:
This week's weight:
Weight loss so far:
What can I do to improve?
Lastly when I post my weigh in I will also post the weekly work out challenge to complete 2 day on, 1 day off.
I hope people will join me. Using this format helped me lose 50 lbs and I plan on losing another 50!!!

I'm probably not the demographic you expected when you posted this, because I'm 65, but I need to lose 15 to 20 pounds in the gut in order to feel good about myself in a swimsuit. Posting what I do for abs would be a really good thing to help me stay on a program. I love cardio workouts but hate muscle building. For me it just isn't fun. Any suggestions about fun ways to develop core muscles?0

I think you just want us to cut and past the daily and weekly questions and answer them. Since today is Wednesday, I'll do both sets.

Abs: (any ab work and how much): 30 ab cruches with 10 pound weights
Challenge completed? Not sure what you are asking here.
Did I take my vitamins? Yes
How do I feel about my day? Honestly, bored with it.

Wow! What a quick response! Welcome everyone! You certainly can add me as a friend but just checking in on the message board is good enough as well :-D Just finished my work out so I'm ready to post my check in, weigh in, and weekly challenge!

Did I follow my diet? Yes, I calorie count and was in range!
Did i drink enough water? Working on "glass" 7 and 8 right now (I do 8oz)
Cardio? EA Active 2 Workout 1 9 week challenge 145 cals burned, 1/2 hr walk
Abs? Core exercises during above
Did I do the challenge? no, just posting today, will tomorrow!
How do I feel about my day? fantastic! Glad to be back on my A game with working out. I have taken a "vacation" and have basically maintained weight with a little gain, but I'm determined to get that last 50 lbs so i can look good and be healthy to start having a family! I'm still loving my job that I started in July, which really keeps me in a great mood!

Great Core activity is actually swimming! If you can get yourself to a local pool that would be great for you! It's my favorite b/c it's a full body work out and FUN! Also...I am a Pisces and innately love the water :-D0

Awesome info re swimming. Does that count as weight bearing, though? I'm prediabetic, and I'm supposed to start doing weight bearing exercise to fight off insulin resistance.0

Sarah: Yes I will be checking in every day, everyone else should too! Helps you to be more accountable!
Judy: swimming as weight bearing...no however there are exercises you can do in a pool with weights. Also resistance band exercises can be done in the house and you can get a set for like 20 bux at Walmart :-D0 -

Challenge completed? today is my off day b/c I had 2 days on already, but I did fulfill the cardio anyways, haha
Did I take my vitamin? yah, I have to take Vitamin D 2000 everyday
How do I feel about my day? was soooooo busy, left for work at 7:40 AM and got home at 9:10....TIRED, but the day FLEW. Worked, got my hair done, and met up with friends.0 -

Day went by too fast...kinda mad, went to get my nails done (3 cracked) and they looked great, came home, cooked...heat musta warmed up the polish and I mess up most of the on my right hand..so mad! how do I feel about my day? biked during biggest loser, i started to cry during it. The 20s team had to eliminate someone today and that really hit me b/c I'm close to some of the weights of the girls...and it was just really emotional to see them all not want to vote each other off because they've become so close and empathize with each other. Just so motivating to watch. I need to keep pushing...I'm PMSing and it's been raining so my back is hurting (arthritis) so I'm glad I got up and moved even though i didn't want to.0 -

How do I feel about my day? I'm pumped because I'm ON VACATION!! I haven't taken a long vacation since Christmas! I'm on vacation until after Labor Day. So this will be a challenge to eat right being out of my usual routine, especially when we head to Cape Cod for a few days! So excited!0 -

I restarted this group because I KNOW it helps me lose weight. It keeps me accountable, and helping others helps me stay motivated!! I started logging the beginning of August and I've lost 6 lbs! So it really works!

How do I feel about my day? Sad the weekend is over, glad I got to get everything done this weekend that I wanted to. I think I'm just going to post my check in both in my group and on this board just to have more accountability and show what it's all about :-)0 -

Did I follow my diet today? yah, way under my calorie goal so I'm going to have a nice cup of sugar free cocoa for a reward!
Did I drink enough water? uh.....I think I could have used more!
Cardio: none yet, some cleaning to do, and I think I will get on the stationary bike when the baby goes to sleep!
Abs: not this week!!
Challenge completed? I gotta get those lunges and arm lifts in after the bike
Did I take my vitamin? I will before bed like always!
How do I feel about my day? well it's Monday...what can I say. I'm pretty tired getting back to work and feel mentally drained! But that's usually how I feel. I've been struggling with the back and neck recently and it's making my whole body feel weird. I'm feeling good about my weight loss. Despite it being "that time" of the month and retaining some water b/c of it, I feel I will log in another loss when weigh in happens which is Wednesday!0 -
