RND 257 So far in April, I've met my goals every day along with daily exercise. I aim to finish off April with no "cheat days"!
4/16 172 Light eating day yesterday, I just didn't have much of an appetite. Looking at the dates of this round reminded me that my youngest boy's birthday is next week (the 24th). He'll be 6. He is the happiest and sweetest little boy and he brings such joy to everyone ❤️.
4/17 170.2 I was waiting for a drop. I could tell my body has been holding on to water. Also have barely had an appetite for 2 days, so I was a good bit under on calories both days (not complaining about that 🤪). Weight will probably go up a little when I'm eating back to normal.
4/18 170.2 Another good day yesterday. Feels good to set goals and actually stick with them. I set another goal for myself this month also to not bite or pick at my fingernails. (I know it sounds gross) Just something I've been doing since I was a little girl. Bad bad habit that I've never been able to break. Although my nails still aren't long, I have more nails now than I ever have and I can actually paint them 😀.

Female 60 years old
It's been a while since I've been here, but decided to focus on weight loss again and this has always been a helpful tool for me. Lost 30 pounds last spring. then gained a few of those back. Have kept up my daily walks, but need to concentrate on nutrition. Trying to get in the 60's by my son's wedding at the end of April..

@Musicsax Happy Birthday to you! Have a wonderful day and year! What I find most confusing is how I possibly have children aged 37 and 33. Does not make sense to me because I can't possibly be THAT old......
Know exactly what you mean, my oldest turned 40!!! in January -- I say 40 !!! How did that happen? seems like not that many years since she was born, now she has a 6 & 4 year old herself. Time is inexplicable !!!
Timing is amazing, yet is moving way too fast these days!6 -
You don't have to be perfect, you just have to be better than you were before

I'm super bloated and horrid cramping so I'm taking it as easy as possible the rest of the day. Explains the scale, though! Almond butter oatmeal for breakfast. Chicken pot pie soup for lunch, dinner will be ground beef and broccoli. Depending on if I need to be on a work call about 10pm tonight, I'll wake up and run (last run before the 10k next weekend). BF going to the gym for a second round of legs. Work is busy busy busy and stressful. Can't wait to get this part of the project DONE

I'm suuuuuper duper sore in my legs from Monday so I think I'm holding on to a little weight from DOMS. I just got my 2 new recipe books in, both Paleo (Well Fed and Well Fed 2). Meals planned out for today and feeling capable. Hopefully work is productive but not overly stressful. Yesterday was a good balance and I'd be okay with that again.

04/16 -182.4- (Trend weight 181.8)
04/17 -182.8- (Trend weight 182.0) I am still creeping up. Could it be stress? It just feels like sheer unadulterated and constant hunger. I am choosing the same meals I always do but they no longer satisfy. I’m lost. Foot is a little better but swells back up easily with the least amount of overdoing it. Today I travel to the new eye doctor. Diabetic testing and new glasses. It will be nice to be able to see again. It took me a minute to find a doctor who takes my vision insurance. Of course there is no eye doctor in our little rural town. Dinner and shopping afterward. The scale will not be my friend this week. I just have to try not to tick it off too very much.
04/18 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW) Leaving this morning for the Cancer Center. I’ll probably take a couple of days off weighing until I can get back on this journey with some normal diet and exercise. Eating my meals in restaurants, getting no exercise or movement and doing nothing but sitting is not part of my journey. I’ll post numbers when they better reflect my efforts or my disregards, not my stuck-withs. I’ll keep up with reading the posts as best as I can. I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty scared and shaken up about this re-check. I’ve been through a lot these last couple of years and all of this is not normal par for the course. I’ve had 3 scares before with a few years in-between each. All 3 times was cancer (or pre-cancerous). I am trying to stay hopeful. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes.

I am totally new to MFP community. A few questions; it seems there is no way to comment on each other’s posts? Just the icons and the bottom (hug, like, etc)?
Is there a place in my app that shows that someone has tagged me in a post (like I tagged the two people above)? I didn’t see an alert that @pettycoatjunction tagged me, just read it in the feed.
Is this a group? Right now I have it bookmarked and that’s how I find it.
Thanks for your help!
Hey Garbage gang, Just sharing what I believe I understand. One action is what I did here, which is to have just clicked the "quote" option at the bottom of a post. That action will NOT inform you that your post has been referenced, while ironically any references IN your post that are highlighted in blue and have the "@", like those to pettycoartjuntion and camandjarvis, will likely get notified.3 -
@Garbagegang In contrast, here I tagged you by typing the "@" followed by your name, as show in blue. You SHOULD get an alert when that action is typed. Hopefully, that is is of help.3

I'm doing more paleo-ish. I'll have a small bit of rice or a tiny bit of pasta with certain meals (I cannot stand cauliflower rice. I keep trying but it's not working out) but dairy is 100% out! I've found paleo helps me cut out processed foods and dairy while reducing my carbs and I can tweak them as needed to fit my life!

I ate a lot yesterday, mostly healthy food, just too much. I’m not worried about the uptick. We have another gorgeous day, with rain forecast this evening and tomorrow, so I’m planning more garden infrastructure work today again. It’s good exercise, with a bigger purpose. 😊
4/17 - 195
Rainy day, so I’m off to knit for a while with a friend. Always fun to knit in company and talk and laugh. She usually feeds my lunch when I do, but I’m taking a curried pineapple chicken salad this time. Yummy!

This is long, so no need to read. I’m writing partly to find out what I’m thinking. I’m in the throes of some big decisions about life, all building up for a while but banging around in my head in a big way right now. I’ve mentioned here my friend who has had serious health problems over the past year and is now on dialysis 3 days a week and essentially immobile. On Tues her husband came in from mowing the lawn, sat down with a cold drink, and had a massive heart attack. Last I heard he was alive but not responsive. This has all been a sad reminder that life can change in a heartbeat, literally. I’m 71 and Roger will be 89 in July. We’re both healthy, thankfully, but realistically I don’t have much time left to monkey around. (20 years is not much time imo.) Things that used to be vitally important to me no longer are, and I’ve developed some new interests. One of the decisions I’ve made is to (try to) step back from my lifelong worry about weight and tracking calories and yada yada. The recent photo with the stack of diet books really hit me—like many of you, I’ve read everything and know a lot and yet have struggle with weight or worry about weight since the first diet I was put on in the fourth grade. The only times in my life I haven’t “dieted” (and I include any kind of restriction in that) were when I was working and studying overseas, and walking everywhere. Clearly my lifelong diet worry hasn’t worked. So one of the things I’m dropping, maybe short term, maybe for good, is tracking. I’ve already stopped tracking food, and I’ve put my scale in the closet after this morning’s weigh in. All of which is to say I’m not sure how long I’ll stay with this group. I really enjoy reading your posts, but I may need to step away for a while. I’ll stick around for this round and see. Anyway, thank you all for being so supportive and open about your journeys.

NSV: Clarification: when I write food = fuel, that means that food is a necessity- no fixation. I eat when hungry, and it’s somewhat mundane/boring. I’m that person that doesn’t mind eating the same thing three days in a row… ex: super dry chicken breast 🤩 Eating is simple.
The yo-yo is exhausting & unhealthy. Takes up way too much brain space.
@Chapter_3 I love beef and could eat it daily (3 times a day) chicken almost as much. I did a beef and butter “fast” early on and loved that. It did get me into ketosis quickly.
@deepwoodslady Wrong generation for “the Mario song. YAY ME!2 -
