Lisa--They have me a meds to regulate my heart and so far it is working. Also a stronger water pill and that is really working. Also the the reults of my bone desinty test and said I am about the same and to keep taking the calumin and iron pills. Also do weight bearing exercise. Working on that and admit it is not going well. I am to call doctor if any changes or heart rate goes up, otherwise go back in 3 months.
Annie--That's scarey. please take care of yourself.
Rita--I am enjoying the story and looking forward to the next chapter. You are so talented at this.
Jinn is begining to think being in the bottle is the only safe place while others are missing, but who does she want to keep her company??
Heather--Glad you are feeling better.
Kylia--Sounds like a busy weekend. DGD llos so happy with her car. Hope it is good for her. Our DGS bought his first car this last weekend. Nothing fancy and I told him for a first car he paid for himself it is a great car. Will last him several years if he takes care of it.
Weekend flew by. Pictures last evening went better than I expected. Looking forward to seeing them.
Full week of 5 -10 hours days.

Mystery: Gretel is sipping some wine when she notices BabaYaga walk in. She suggests to Hansel that since BabaYaga is here, this would be the perfect time to go to her house and eat it. They decide to sneak out the back so Fairy Godmother doesn’t see them. As they pass the kitchen, they notice Cindy, SB, and THE BODY!

MFP Weekly Check-in April 22, 2024
Rita in Roswell, NM - Down 2.1 pounds this past week. I hope that continues. I need to stay away from sugar, and products containing sugar. That makes me gain water weight the most. I’ve noticed fruits are ok and satisfy my sweet-tooth, especially grapes! I hope to keep on this trend.
Kylia in Ohio - Woohoo! I lost the 1/2 pound I found last week! I am looking forward to the time I am bouncing with a lower couple of pounds! Have a great week!
Sue in WA State - Maintaining weight at 220. Happy about that. Need to work on drinking more water this week. Hope to make it to water exercise 2 times this week and do some work outside.
Lanette in SW WA State – Celebrating weight a pound below bottom of desired range (looks like I'll be in a new range if this keeps up) and being able to wear sweats that have been too small for several years = waist shrinking a bit. Navigating some lifestyle and dietary changes to pull back from pre-diabetes.

Mystery: Cindy and SB look down at what is very definitely a dead body, and Sleeping Beauty slaps her hands over eyes and starts screaming. So Cindy started screaming. Then she caught herself, and caught her friend by both shoulders. "Stop it, girl, stop screaming!" She gestured to the body in what looked like a pool of old red wine... "Screaming won't do them any good, now will it!" She turned, and saw Hansel and Gretel peeking at them, googly-eyed, "Go get the Godmother, you two! Someone's been murdered!" Sleeping Beauty, peeking between her fingers, said, "How do you know it's murder?" Cinderella opened her mouth, and as she began to speak, a voice interrupted...1

It's turned out to be a beautiful day, but between the chores and the quilt, I've barely stepped a foot outside, just one trip down to the mailbox and back. Had to convince myself to take a break from the quilt and talk to y'all a minute. Hard when you're on a roll with something. I'd love to be able to finish the quilt top this week. Because I've set it up as a quilt-as-you-go, it will go together quickly once I'm ready to get started. Hopefully.
Got my yoga done this morning, and I've got chicken out to thaw, probably some form of chicken cutlets for dinner. My ankle's are swelling from being seated too much, time to get up and get moving.
Vicki - So pleased the medicine is helping. When you're too tired and sick to exercise, you get in this vicious circle, because the exercise really does help, but if you don't feel well, it's hard to do it, and hard to get better. You can do this! Ten steps today, 11 steps tomorrow. Take care of yourself, dear heart.
Heather - Love the irises...
There were more, but they've escaped into my leaky memory. Hope it is or was a grand Monday...

Rita - Two things - my great-grandmother's name was Cinderella Driver, and she grew up being called Drilly Driver (you can't make this stuff up). I also named every doll I ever had "Cindy" and then put them on a shelf and never, ever played with them. The names haunt me...

Got home at 11 this morning. Was a long weekend-lots of work in mom's greenhouse. I didn't finish but did get a lot done. Some drama(of course)- Nephew who mom said was coming from CO got there Sat. night. Yesterday morning the two went into town- supposed to be quick, two stops and be home. I stayed and worked in the greenhouse like I wanted to. The issue was when they finally show back at the house SEVEN hours later. While they were gone, along with working in the green house, I buried my sister's dog that passed away and she wanted him buried at the "graveyard" on the property. 4 people and now 2 dogs buried there and then cooked a big dinner while waiting for them to come home. Went back out and worked more in the green house until they finally got home. They had eaten lunch so were not hungry. They didn't eat any of the big meal I cooked.
There were no response to the texts and messages I sent them for the first 6 hrs they were gone. No idea what was going on. When they got home, I told mom if she had been by herself and gone that long with no messages returned, I would have gone looking for her. Outside, I overheard my nephew talking. Not sure what he said but she said something about me taking over but at least I wasn't my younger sister. I had to tell her a few times, I was planting just what she had said she wanted and that everything in the greenhouse that I planted, along with the plants I grew and brought to her, were for HER garden, not mine. She did appreciate all the work. I know she would have been different if my nephew wasn't there- that guy can do no wrong in mom's eyes because he drove all the way out here to work the ground for the garden. He will be there two weeks.
I did what I went there to do and got almost everything planted that she wanted. I feel there is too much and she wants to plant more.
Sounds like she is planning on planting at least 1/2acre or more plus all the raised beds(well over 20 of them and they are big).
I will go up when I can to help
While they were outside talking, I was finally sitting down in side. The cats knocked her big humidifier over, full of water, all over the floor. I grabbed three big bath towels trying to clean it all up as it was going under the furniture. I went to the door asking her for more towels but she didn't hear me,or something- said something in a pit of a tone, he did but distracted her, finally came in about 10-15 min. later. I am on my hands and knees trying to get more water up with the wet towels. I explained again and then let them finish cleaning up.
I sleep on the couch and by 11 I was exhausted so when she went in the kitchen to do dishes , and he left the room, I just turned the lights off and laid down.
Woke up early, loaded up and headed home. Tired but will grab an energy drink before class tonight.
Only things planned tomorrow are walk MIL's dog and go to a quick dentist appt at 1. And maybe tacos after that.
I need to read all the posts and see how everyones' weekend was.

Debbie: Hope the food program went well today!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA
Food program went well. They were given a ton of fresh veggies and other food items from Guy Fieri. His show "Guy's Grocery Games" is filmed up there so he donates a lot of the left overs to the food bank. Really nice stuff. The one fun thing I got was some locally harvest kombu(seaweed) that I will use in soup and share with MIL if she wants some-
There wasn't quite as much stuff as there was in previous times I have helped but they still got at least a banana box full-fresh veggies and fruit, canned staple items, premade/precut fruits or salads, fresh milk, eggs, cheese, bread plus desserts.
I was in charge of the non food items table- things that Safeway has discontinued or close to pull date-
I had lots of shampoos, conditioners, deodorant, bbq tools, other misc. stuff. The thing that went first was the deodorant then the shampoo.6 -

Worked then called about jury duty. Seems I don’t have to go this week. In a way, I was looking forward to going. I had my tablet ready, I planned to read email, read the paper, then play mahjongg. We were just going to have a quick dinner since I had no idea when I’d be getting home. All that gone. Oh well…. So I went bowling
Seems that the summer bowling league will be regular bowling, not no-tap. In a way, I was kind-of hoping that it would be no-tap and I’d have the summer off. Oh well, maybe next year
Ceramics tonight
Rusty – that theater is gorgeous!
Off to a shower and then bed.

I work on the 4th floor of my building.
First thing in the morning, I often take the lift up.
Sometimes I also take the lift up if I've bought a few things at lunch.
So today, I took the lift up.
Then at 11:30 am, I climbed up and down 12 flights of stairs.
At lunch, I walked down, but took the lift up.
At 4 pm, I climbed up and down 9 flights of stairs.
After work, I walked down the stairs.
Total: 21 flights of stairs up & 29 flights of stairs down.
Going down really works the calves.

Jinn ——————-Vicki (Jinn wants to get out of her lamp forever and become human. Perhaps her friendship to Rita is causing some mischief?)
Dwarf (Herbbette) ———Tracey (Like a sister to Sleeping Beauty, Allie’s dependence on Herbbette is endearing to some an annoying to others.)
Red’s Gran ———Barbara AHMOD (having escaped from the Wolf, Barbara is plotting something, but what or who will be affected?
Red ——————-Kylia (Red came to the Ball with her Gran. Unaware that she is plotting something. Red suspects something is wrong, but what?)
Rapunzel (Princess)————-Machka (Depserate to get out of her tower, this trapped temptress may have more than one offer on the table… the question is which one will she pick?)
Pixie ——————Rebecca (Pixie is flitting around the Ball everywhere. She is gathering information about each party guest to report back to??)
Nosey——————Michele (Nosey is walking from one group of guests to another. Not staying in any one place for very long. What’s this? She stops and writes notes in a notebook between each group. For what purpose??)
Sleeping Beauty——Allie (With hopes of moving out of the bed, this princess hopes to soon be known not as the daughter of an evil queen, but as the wife of prince that is charming.)
Cinderella ———-Lisa in AR (After being missing for a month, Cinderella shows up at the ball, dirty, tired, and ready to confront her kidnapper(s). She simply wants to rest first, but the Ball has disoriented her.)
Jasmoor———Heather (Heather thought that Jinn was her friend and would help her through anything. But now, she is questioning this friendship..)
Belle——Joy (Having tamed the ‘Beast’, Joy is happily going about her life. But no one knows her true motives…)
Grettel—- Linda (Wandering the woods and destroying the evil witch, Linda is becoming more confident and independent. But will that lead her to her goals?)
Griselda (Cinderella’s Stepsister)——Rusty (After years of animosity, Griselda has earned Cinderella’s trust and her place in the castle. Now that Cinderella is gone, will Griselda be next to disappear mysteriously?)
Prince Charming——Terri. (I (Prince Charming) am having second thoughts about looking for a new bride. Cinders is just to difficult to get out of my heart. I wish I knew where she has gone. I’m lying low for a bit 😝)
Aladdin————-Ginny
Hansel———-Lanette
“MFP Timeless Tale of Treachery and Treason in a Kingdom Far, Far Away”
“After the mysterious disappearance of Cinderella, Prince Charming is throwing a fancy dress ball to find a new bride. Some of the kingdom residents question how the prince could move on so quickly, while others are jumping at the chance to earn their spot as the new princess in the castle. No one has seen the Prince since Cinderella disappeared and the rumors are rampant!”
During the ball, as the dancing and rumors escalate, someone dies in the palace. Who died? Where? When? Why? How long was the victim dead? How did the victim die? What is happening?????
RVRita (Fairy Godmother) from the Kingdom of Roswell…….
Part 2:
The Ball has begun and people are arriving in droves. The entire MFP Women’s 50 plus group have arrived. The band has begun with background quiet music to welcome the guests. The servers are wandering among the guests with low carb, low calorie snacks, water, flavored waters, wine and diet drinks.
Fairy Godmother stands at the entrance welcoming the guests. Look! Here comes Jinn, Dwarf, Red’s Gran, Red, Rapunzel, Pixie, and Nosey! No one has seen Prince Charming. When will he arrive? The party is for him to choose a new bride. The crowd talks about the missing Cinderella and what they feel the Prince is rushing the search for a new bride.
The night progresses with more questions as it is near Midnight now, but the Prince has not shown up for his own Ball. Questions are floating among the guests as the band plays on.
The guest gasps in shock as Sleeping Beauty has just shown up with Cinderella!!
Fairy Godmother in the mysterious land of Roswell…… 🧞♂️🧚♂️🧚🧝♀️🧙♀️🪄
Meanwhile, Rapunzel is standing on the stage singing (because we all know she attracts her suitors with her lovely singing voice) and watching everything going on.
When she sees Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty come in, Rapunzel goes into a rousing rendition of "Do you believe in life after love?"
M in Oz
Then Rapunzel slides into "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair" and then into a female version of Elvis Presley's - "I'm Moving On" with Grettel showing her stuff on the piano.
By the time Rapunzel breaks into "I Will Survive", Grettel begins to think something's up.
(Like Machka, Zel knows the words to a lot of songs. Unlike Machka, Zel can sing them well.)
R in OzMystery: Gretel is sipping some wine when she notices BabaYaga walk in. She suggests to Hansel that since BabaYaga is here, this would be the perfect time to go to her house and eat it. Zel and Gretel have taken a break from the stage and passed the singing onto Pixie (Rebecca). Pixie, has taken a break from gathering information and has opted to watch the crowd from the stage while entertaining them with a popular selection of opera favourites.
Zel slips over to Griselda (Rusty), and asks her if she knows where Cindy was and why she looks so dirty. Why did Cindy look like she had been digging? Griselda notices that Zel seems quite edgy ... almost nervous.
"She better not have been digging around my tower", mutters Zel as she moves off to try to find Fairy Godmother who doesn't appear to be in the ballroom.
"Everyone is disappearing around here!" complains Zel. "Who would know what Cindy was up to? Pixie? She's singing. Oh, maybe Nosey (Michele). Nosey seems to know everything."
Zel rushes up and grabs Nosey by the shoulder, "Nosey ... you must know what's going on. What happened to Cindy? Where was she?"
Nosey shakes her (his?) head to indicate she (he?) doesn't know then says, "But someone saw a light on in your tower window this evening while you were here. Did you leave the light on?"
Zel looked horrified for a moment and then ran out of the ballroom.

Morning, my chickens,
Going to get some early work on the quilt done this morning while it's still chilly out, and then head outside to get a few things done that are of the grubby persuasion. Lots of cleanup around the edges of the yard, and much as I hate to, I want to get some burning done. I always have to take a shower immediately afterward because it makes me smell like a smoked ham. Possibly too apt, considering the story in progress, but still...
So enjoying my weeks without having to be anywhere but here. Makes me happier than I can even tell you. Also makes me happy that the two pounds of water weight that climbed on my bodaciousness this weekend climbed back off yesterday. Always a happy thing when that shows up on the scale.
I hit 159.9 yesterday (157.9 today), the highest I've been since November 2022, but it's still a mixed thing for me. It means my body is actually using the nutrition I'm putting in it, and for a long time, it was definitely not doing so--when you're eating 3,000 to 4,000 calories a day on average and losing weight, there are some bad things going on. So the good part is that my gut is working better. The bad part is, that means that it's time to retrain myself to eat a couple thousand calories less a day, or I'm going to keep gaining weight. Things are never really simple, are they.
Ah well, if life was simple, it would be boring. 😁👀🙃
Kim - Good to see you here, sorry that mama drama continues. Thanks for letting us know about Karen. Miss her.
Later, babies,

Good morning, Friends!
61F and sunny in Jacksonville, Fl. Enjoy this little bit of cooler weather this time of year.
My son and I went to see Piano Men: Generations at a local dinner theatre last night. They are a Billy Joel/Elton John tribute band with a father-son team on twin pianos. Fantastic show. It was great being there with Tim. He doesn't go out much, so it was nice to see him talking with our table mates, singing along, and even taking some pictures.
Quick nutshell about Tim: 14 years ago he fell 180ft down a cliff in Kentucky. Massive trauma to his right leg along with broken ribs, punctured lung, crack scapula, and facial lacerations. It was a long road, but he is taking on life the best he can. He also works from home and tends to spend any free time playing video games. He does come out of his shell now and then like the show last night, and yesterday he also switched out one of our entry doorknobs!
Today, back to work. As much I love Billy Joel, Elton's "The *kitten* is Back" is running through my head.
Rest of the week is pretty quiet. Hoping to take some time to play around with the camera and work on my setting skills. Also have to get ready for a community yard sale this weekend. Trying to drum up volunteers is tough. 23 neighbors wanted the sale, one person is doing the work.
Make it a great day,
Linda

Our block had quite the excitement. A neighbor up the street 80 year old aunt drove her car into their home. She hit the accelerator and got confused and lost control of the car. So taking the keys away from a loved one who is no longer well enough to drive can help them stay safe them as well as others. She and her passenger will fortunately be okay.
I cooked an organic chicken last night with green beans. I took up half of it to share with them.
Just listened to Joel Fuhrman speak at the Quit Sugar Summit...Many good insights into why we overeat and the addictive nature of current food supply.
My take aways is to eat less at dinner and earlier to be done by 5-5:30 and no snacking at night. He touched on what a highly processed diet does do our moods and our brains. I will continue on my high organic veggie diet. Watching meat and fruit (except for berries) intake in moderation. I will also continue no gluten because it helps me stay away from processed foods with white flour and sugar.

Margaret, we had someone do that at the little shopping area just down the road from us. Got mixed up and drove into the newsagents. There was a lot of damage but fortunately the people were OK.

I’m sorry…. Just had to… No harm meant. My mind can be warped at times. Read too many Stephen King novels in my life. Read them all up to 2017 and still reading his newer ones.
