I was talking to a coworker a couple days after moving my daughter out of her third floor apartment one day, driving home 13 hrs and unloading her the next. She asked if I was sore, which I thought was odd. Answered “no”, and she said “show off” which all had me confused a bit. Then I realized, yeah that would/had been an issue in the past. But honestly I wasn’t sore, never out of breath, and still had plenty of energy after loading up that first day.
It nice to see how my increased fitness is showing up in everyday situations.
Have a great one!21 -
I’ve got muscle forming under my arm fat… I can flex and see an actual ball of muscle 💪 I’ve always been pretty strong but I don’t think I’ve ever been able to see the flex so that’s neat and quite rewarding for my efforts 🎉15

I used to wear my Garmin on a certain notch and it would sit comfortably on my wrist. Three weeks of working out and eating healthy and it's starting to slide further down my arm. Time to change notches!16

My NSV today is weird, but a genuine compliment.
Two weeks ago I rode my bike to the gym, intending to swim laps and do aquafit with my husband.
On the way, I decided to see if my bike could fly. It could not, but turns out I can. For short distances.
I continued to the gym, swam for about twenty minutes, til my hand brushed something, and lit me up. I realized it was my hip, swollen out to here. I managed to climb the ladder out of the pool, hugged a wall for a minute, and then couldn’t stand up. Staff got me into a wheelchair, called the husband, and I went to Urgent Care. No break, thank heavens.
Today at the pool, Mr Inappropriate cornered me. Nice enough fellow, no filter.
“You ok? We were all worried about you! Everyone was panicking and nobody knew what to do. It was like Superwoman had tripped on her cape!”
After I thought about it, that was pretty darned funny, and coming from him, unfiltered and genuine. It absolutely made my day.20 -

For real. Glad nothing is broken.
But all the exercise you’ve been doing for years now likely really strengthened your bones.
A NSV in and of itself.

I've been on Metformin for diabetes for almost 25 years...until this week. I got a continuous glucose monitor last week and have been following my numbers. I haven't had any reading that were even close to being to high, so I decided to stop the Metformin and see what happened. My numbers went up only by a few points. I let my primary provider know, and he has agreed that I should stay off it and continue to monitor. :-D30

A very tiny NSV compared to recent Super Heroes posts.......congratulations @springlering62 and @ripomeroy I have a habit of keeping older pyjamas, leisure wear and workout clothes......I pack them for vacations and leave them behind. Its a process that reveals itself....so last night I put on an older pair of long pant and long top pyjamas I "found". I remember them fitting snugly a couple of years ago. They were HUGE! 😳 I checked the tag.....L. 😀 Im going to be putting these in the "vacation pile"...Im actually still in shock as I definitely remember them being form fitting....17

@springlering62 I also think of you as Superwoman. So glad you’re recovering well!
@rlpomeroy That is amazing! I just had this convo with several family members who have type 2 diabetes. When the older ones were diagnosed, they were taught that they will be on meds for life and there is no way to reverse it. They’re only just recently finding out how powerful diet and exercise can be.6 -
I haven’t had a scale victory in a while as I’ve gained some weight back in the last several months. However, on my vacation last week, I hiked over 13 miles total in 4 states. These weren’t easy, flat hikes. There was a lot of rock climbing, balancing, stair climbing, and stretches of muddy trekking uphill. I knocked them out like they were a stroll around the neighborhood. The scale can’t tell me I’m fit- it’s obvious that I am fit by the way I function.
I’ve been discussing this with a number of people in my life- I have friends my age (39) who can’t comfortably walk a mile, and it seems to be a common acceptance where I live that folks past a certain age just “can’t” do things like walk moderate distances, lift heavy things, or easily get up from sitting on the floor. And yet… I have a friend in her 60s who gets invited to compete all over the world in triathlons. She started exercising in her 50s. I know several folks in their 70s and 80s who move like they’re 25 and get double the steps daily that I do.
My thinking has shifted slowly over this journey. I don’t care so much about looking a certain way. I simply want to be able to live every day to the fullest, and that means I want to be active and functional for the next 50+ years. I have a lot of fun stuff left to do! That’s a strong motivator to keep up the healthy habits.29 -

Totally agree with what @EliseTK1 wrote above. Lately I've started taking the stairs on purpose wherever I go, rather than avoiding them at all cost. Stair climbing has become easy, I no longer even get out of breath going up three levels. Bending down (to take off my pants, put on shoes, pick up something I dropped, clean the floor, etc.) is a no-brainer. Getting out of the car is no longer an ungainly embarrassment. I can stand up from the floor without using my hands. All of these were unthinkable just a year ago. It's nice being able to do whatever I need/want to do, and not having to adjust my activities around all these movements I felt I needed to avoid.17

I can see in my progress pictures, I had a pretty bad anterior pelvic tilt that was causing me some back pain. I've lost 27 lbs and have noticed that my pelvis has tilted back into a more regular/neutral position and I can tell it's made a big difference in how I walk, stand, and less pain.21

I went on a 5 1/2 week cruise and managed to feel my clothes feel looser.18

I bought a pair of pants off a clearance rack yesterday without trying them on. When I got home I realized that they are WAY to big for me. They will on going on FB Marketplace...lol12

My late wife used to steal all my favorite shirts as she got thicker over the years. But lately I've been wearing some of her really old t shirts. Like concert merch that I was gong to turn into throw pillows. Because I thought I'd never be small enough to fit into.18

Taking my shorts off without having to unbutton them, lol!15

Wearing my new pants inside of the pants I started in. 30" waist from 38"15

I was told today that there was a discussion in the office about me. apparently started with:
'Have you noticed Ian's changed recently, got this whole new style going on'
'Yes think he's training cause his skin is really good...'
'Got a Roger Moore vibe going on' (that might be the best thing anyone's ever said about me...
Eating clean has me feeling so much better.24 -
Realizing that, even though the scale has slowed, my body changes are still happening. Down almost 2 pants sizes since November. ❤️❤️18
