I love the " deferred joys..." quote. I am purchasing a needlepoint project after 14 days of consecutively exercising an hour and a 1/2 every day. 10 days down, 4 to go.2

So this is crazy and probably TMI but I'm 58 and have never missed a period since age 13, except when I was pregnant. Yes, that is unusual, my drs are always shocked. So every month I still have temporary weight increases due to premenstrual water retention...I'm up this week but pretty sure it's water retention that will go down next week.3 -

Not defeated. It's just one week. Keep sticking to the program. This takes time. Don't let one day's number on the scale make you think you're defeated. Nope. You're just a work in progress.

@mtaratoot Itโs actually been all of April and this week. Iโve gone completely backwards. Iโm not even sure why I keep trying. So stressed and broken right now. But thank you for the words of encouragement.0 -

Keep sticking to it. It's the best option. It really, really is. We all go through this from time to time, and it won't be your last time. If you give up, I can give you a few guesses about what will happen. I bet you a bagel (or just a half bagel) you won't be happy about it.
Trust the process. Stick to it. Be patient. They say it's virtuous. I'm not very virtuous in my life, so I'll take any I can get.

@mtaratoot Again, thank you. I am working on it as discouraged as I am. I sat hubby down this morning and have worked a reward system. But he again gave me the โif I rememberโ clause. He is supportive for about a minute (as long as his attention span ๐). There are so many stress-inducing things happening in our family right now, and as always my health takes a backseat which increases my stress even more. I will continue trying, โNunc coepiโ (now I beginโฆ again and again and again).2 -

Weight in pink makes me feel happy because it's a loss. Weight in blue makes me feel sad because it's a gain. Weight in gray is either my starting point, or it means nothing has changed.

I was so discouraged about the past 5 weeks weight gain, that I sat down with my husband to develop a reward system for my weight loss:
1. I get $10 for scrapbooking supplies if I have a weekly weight loss.
2. I get $10 for every 2 items of too-big clothes I purge from my closet, so I can buy new clothes. (I have A LOT of clothes.)
3. If I lose 6+ lbs I earn a mani/pedi.
The last one should take 3-4 weeks to achieve if Iโm doing it healthily which puts me back on my old mani/pedi schedule. I havenโt been able to get them because I wasnโt working, but now that Iโm going back to work we can afford them.
Anyway, I felt completely defeated, but Iโm going to keep trying. Maybe this will help get back on track.

Quick question for all of you guys.. Not really related, but, what is up with the little Lady Meringues from Costco? I ate one this morning and tried to log it and the default serving size was eight of them. I always thought they were too sweet to have more, but is it actually okay to have eight?0
