🤣🤣 I identify as trans-slender too! 🤣🤣 Love it!!
Thanks for the healing vibes for MIL. She’s doing a little better but not following medical advice because… I don’t know… honestly she’s just a pain in the butt and rarely follows medical advice which is why she’s in this condition now! 🙄 I am leaving it up to hubby now that he doesn’t think she’s dying.3 -
Morning LA friends!
AF = 9
Total AF = 100 (Woohoo, that’s some dedication right there)
Challenge = 9
@NonnieDoiron I really like your rewards especially the scrapbook ones. I’m a scrapbooker too. Haven’t done much lately due to homework. That is done so will be slowly getting my scrapbook stuff organized as it is all boxed up from the move.
I’ve started back my crocheting too. I’ve joined a FB group called Random Acts of Crochet Kindness and More. They make small projects and put them in a clear bag with a poem and then leave them in random places for others to find. We do this in hopes to lift someone’s day. I’m making worry worms at the moment.
Rewards can be very motivating if choosing the right ones and you sure have.
Have a wonderful and blessed day everybody!!!

@SparkSpringtime69 Thank you! I tho’t I was gonna be away from any natural disasters when movie to TN. I guess I was wrong. This time of year is typical of random tornadoes. I can’t imagine what it’s like living on the coast and having to worry about hurricanes. I hope the winds haven’t caused any problems for you.2

Happy Friday LA friends,
AF last night and feels good. We will be in Monterey / Pacific Grove for the weekend so will post again on Monday. I’m anticipating another AF night or two might have some organic Rose on Mothers Day!
Have a great weekend taking the best care of yourselves, whatever that means to you.

Back for May!
Goals for May
Mostly Dry (no more than 4 days (ie: 1 day per weekend)
Exceptions & Stats5/5 ~ Cinco De Mayo ~ My husband already has margarita's planned.5/6 - 5/9 = AF
5/26 ~ Birthday party at a baseball game.
Month Stats
Current Streak - AF = 4
Longest Streak 2024 - AF = 16
A = 2
AF = 7
I made it through yesterday without issue with alcohol but I pretty much ate everything in site. It's like my mouth just needed to do something, and I obliged.
My husband wants to take me to dinner tomorrow for Mother's Day. I didn't include this in my exceptions for this month, but it does fall into my ultimate goal of one day per weekend. As much as I'd like to dream, there's no way I'm going to dinner and not having wine. On the positive side, there's still none at home so at least I won't come home after dinner and continue the party🙂
@Stepawayfromthetable ~ So sorry to hear of the loss of your dear friend. I understand the conflict, but no, I have not experienced it.
@I_am_motivated ~ glad you're safe from the tornadoes, and Congrats on 100 days AF! That is Awesome!!!

Trying to stay close to my calorie goal. I think I’m over by 89 calories tonight. Drinking won’t help.
I made a deal with husband for a reward system for my weight loss.
1) for any week with weight loss, I get $10 for scrapbooking supplies
2) for any two items of clothing I remove from my wardrobe, I get $10 to buy new clothes. (I have A LOT of clothes lol)
3) for losing 6+ lbs (usually takes 3-4 weeks to do healthily), I get my mani/pedi which I had to quit getting when I quit work. Now, that I’ll be working again, I’ll be able to get them again.
I was thinking about including my AF nights in the rewards, but he doesn’t know I’m intentionally working to drink less. I don’t know exactly what he thinks when I’m not drinking all the time, but he hasn’t really asked me about it. Maybe he’s just happy I’m not drinking as much and is afraid he’ll jinx it if he says something. 🤣🤣
These are great rewards!

What a great rainy day for napping! We had some drama with our dog yesterday, but it’s all good. Respiratory distress and shaking, but getting him oxygen and Albuterol at the vet helped significantly. They thought it was either cancer or pneumonia, but luckily it’s pneumonia. He’s being treated for it and is breathing comfortably. Whew!
Wine night last night was actually High Noons, which I didn’t finish. Tonight is my Decoy Sauvignon Blanc at home with a good book. Two drinks for the alcohol of one, I can get behind that!!!3 -

Last night was a huge win! We went camping and that usually goes hand in hand with drinking beers by the campfire. Well, it was too wet for a campfire and we drove out to try and see the Northern lights, so that temptation wasn't there. And I stuck to my Dry May pledge.8 -

Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely LA moms out there!
I’ve been on the coast for the weekend with my grandkids, DD and DSIL — did tide pools, beach days, pizza night, seafood, Bon fires and s’mores—what a blessed weekend in my life. Life is good. God is good. ❤️
Am committed to making up AF days this week and sticking to my calorie goals after a little champagne today (counted).

A glass of wine with dinner. Resisted the urge to get a bottle of wine on the way home from the restaurant.
Happy Mother’s Day to the mommas in the group!4 -
@danikat15 you are sticking to your AF goals! It’s also hard for me when I go camping not to have that adult beverage— Good job!

And the hits just keep coming.🙁 No alcohol tonight. Going to bed in a bit. Wake me in 2025 please.4 -
So far, 11 days AF. Hit the tequila and wine on Mothers Day. Otherwise, weight loss is holding steady. Zero loss since last month but I know I am eating more. NEW: I am going to bed at 8:30, up at 4, out the door at 5 am for a 2 hr minimum walk. Makes me feel so good all day long.
Side note: if I feel like drinking, I remind myself that alcohol damages DNA and the last thing I need right now is to give myself a life threatening ailment. I don't want chemo life, no thank you.

I'll stop in here and read the posts occasionally, but I feel I don't need to keep track anymore. I am at the point now where alcohol is no longer a big deal to me. I can go most days without having a drop and don't even think about it anymore. If I feel like a glass of wine with dinner, then I will have one... lol
I owe it all to the les alcohol threads. It changed my mind set with alcohol for the better.12 -

I like drinking alcohol too but the reason I gained weight before was that I was drinking too much alcohol and the reason I lost weight before was because I stopped drinking alcohol.
This is the 3rd time that I've stopped drinking alcohol to lose weight. I just did it earlier than before with weight gain of "only" 15# this time instead of at 40# of weight gain twice before.
Everything I've ever read points to how drinking alcohol -- any alcohol -- is BAD for you but there are all kinds of things that people make excuses to do to justify doing what they do.
You can easily Google the topic to find a long list of reasons NOT to drink alcohol and NO reason that can justify doing it medically.
I had no problem stopping drinking alcohol this time and before. So, fortunately, I'm not an alcoholic but I can't say that I still don't "crave" a drink now and then.
However, l think I've reached an impasse on this topic & need to make a decision about whether or not to stop drinking entirely or to try to drink in moderation (meaning much less than I drank before) in order the benefit my health and to avoid going on an AF diet again.
I haven't made a decision about this yet and would rather not make that decision, which means that I'll probably gain weight again.
Oh well . . .5 -

I try to remind myself of the damaging effects as well, it doesn't always work for me though. Sometimes I just say F it and pick up a bottle of wine for the night despite knowing the drawbacks.
However, tonight will be an herbal tea night.

We have a long vacation coming up in mid June and I want to be at my lower end weight before we leave. Need to get back on track with staying within my calorie zone to drop 2-3 lbs.
Thank you @globalhiker for mentioning the really good reasons to cut way back on alcohol! I’m right there with you, overdoing = health problems. No thank you!
