Well that bday turned into a 3 day binge fest I was not proud of. Hence why I didnโt post my weight in 6/5 til now. I got back on the wagon hard yesterday. Kind of kicking myself bc I know where I was and where I could have been. The leftover Mexican killed me Tuesday along with pie. Then Wednesday we went to a pizza buffet for lunch at work for my birthday and I was adamant that was my only meal for the day. My head said otherwise and ended up having McDonaldโs for dinner too. I havenโt been sleeping well lately and took Thursday afternoon off and took a 2 hour nap then fell asleep at 9:30. I donโt think I will make 145 in a week unless I really cut calories, which I might depending on how occupied I get getting ready for vacation. It was soo hard to hop back on yesterday after falling off. I knew I had the mental fortitude to say no to food, but I just wanted to graze. It was soo bad, but Iโm here now and back.4 -

8/6 - Had a good day yesterday but bad food day. Treated myself to Wingstop and Rasberry Tart
Smashed through the daily calorie limit.
However, did hit my minimum 10,000 steps.
Eat less wings than I normally would. So, still a Silver lining. Plus going to the gym today, so not all bad.
The aim this month is: GW: 165

4/6 - Things going well overall.
Enjoying the intermittent fasting. Don't miss breakfast and can comfortably go without.
Went for health check in local gym and bloods all good.
After being weighed I realised that I'd hit one of my milestones. My BMI has gone from Obese to Overweight. From 28.1 to 26.3 ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ
I know I'm in the early weight loss honeymoon, but I'll take anything I can get. ๐
Wishing you all best best of luck in reaching your goals this month, but mostly thank you for the welcome. ๐
โโ
Starting the June Challenge:
Lurked around last month as started my weight loss journey on 18th May. Since then I've lost 5lbs, which I'm really excited about.
I'm mixing up intermittent fasting with a minimum of 10,000 steps per day.
The aim this month is:
1/6 - SW: 169.2
4/6 - 167.55
GW: 165
UGW: 140
Based in London and this journey started when I was on the tube and a young women asked me if I wanted her seat. I politely declined but couldn't get it out of my head. I kept wondering if she thought I was pregnant or really old ๐ค whatever the reason I knew I had to do something. So the next day 18th May I started walking a minimum of 10,000 steps.
I should really thank her, because I've been wanting to get healthier and reduce my BMI but just kept filling myself with takeaways because of convenience. At one stage I was gonna buy shares in JustEat and Uber Eats to get some of my money back ๐
All the best to you all on getting to your GW this June. ๐3 -

Each Month I write a reflection on how the month went. Here is mine from May if you want to read. For the new people (and the not so new)- I strongly encourage you to take some before pictures. I didn't do so in the beginning and I regret it. It takes a LONG time to actually see a difference in yourself, and to be honest takes a long time for those that are around you every day to see it too. If you take some before and after pictures every month you'll notice the difference sooner, which can be quite a motivating to keep going. You will acctually see all the hard work that you are doing is paying off. And believe me it is really hard! Be proud of what you are doing - put yourself first sometimes. You are allowed to do so! You've Got This!
May Reflection
Iโll start with the good this month. I lost weight this month! Not the four pounds I wanted to lose but a loss. Two pounds towards my goal and met my goal to get into the 140s! I am down 78.4 pounds since starting my weight loss journey.
I reached the 1,200 mile marker on my quest to walk 2,024 miles in 2024. I have logged 1,215 miles to date. My tracker remains in the purple range (that means I will make it). So far have averaged 7.99 miles per day. This tracker is all miles walked โ not just intentional. I am also tracking my intentional miles, just to see how I do. To date I have tracked 917.9 intentional miles. This puts me at 45% complete (just ahead of where I should be to meet the goal).
My Biggest Loser and Hogwarts challenges both were running in May. I have wonderful teams for both challenges. Such a fantastic and inspiring group of people all helping each other meet our goals. I have said it before and I will say it again, I wouldnโt be where I am without them. They keep me motivated and accountable and make this journey a fun one.
Now for the ugly - I had an injury mid-month that has been very discouraging for my goals. I hurt my knee somehow which has limited my mobility. For the past couple weeks have been limited to a few small walks, and mostly seated chair exercises. I found a couple workouts that are halfway decent, but honestly donโt know how well I am actually burning calories. I had an orthopedic appointment and MRI, but am still waiting for my follow-up appointment to discuss what they found. It is scheduled for June 4th. I have been continuing the strength, cardio, and stretch exercises but my 17K a day steps didnโt happen. I did not meet my 250 miles or my 150 miles of intentional walking this month.
I finished the first book of the Harry Potter series, along with my Hogwarts Challenge. I am continuing to read the third book of the Invisible Library Series โ โThe Burning Pageโ, but honestly donโt really enjoy it โ so it has been a tough one.
I have realized that my mission to reach the ideal range by my birthday in August will be a stretch and that is disappointing. Realistically, and at the rate I have been losing lately, it will probably be October so am setting this as my new goal. After reaching, I want to lose another five pounds to keep myself under control. My goal to reach that additional five pounds is my two-year mark on this journey โ January 8, 2025!
I WILL get there.
My June Goals:
โข Lose 4 pounds (always my goal), but be happy with a 2% loss for the month
โข Alternate days of Cardio and Strength Training
โข Stretch 3 days per week
โข Finish the Burning Page and find something fun to read
My Before and After for May:
๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ช๐ซ ๐งโโ๏ธ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฎME!
June 1: 149.6 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ช๐ซ ๐งโโ๏ธ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฎME! Got it all done yesterday. Today will be a fun day - still hope to get it all done. My sister is having a picnic today, with the family and friends. I promise to make some good choices and will do my best to log everything. Hoping not to see the 50s tomorrow but I do expect it - and it will be temporary!
June 2: 150.2 ๐๐ฆ๐ฎME! What I expected, but had a wonderful time yesterday. I logged everything (and it wasn't pretty). Back to it today!
June 3: 148 ๐ ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ช๐ซ ๐งโโ๏ธ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฎME! I got it all done. It was the last day of the Hogwarts challenge and I had to meet my unbreakable vow. Silly me, vowed to average at least 100 minutes of intentional exercise over four weeks. I started out ok, but then my knee injury came in week three. Without my hour walk in the AM, 100 minutes is a LOT - especially in a chair. But I did it (it helped that I did a lot in the beginning of the month)! Also at the end of last month I decided to give my plateau a boost and ordered a week of Nutrisystem. It appears to be working. My body probably just needed a change in diet!
June 4: 148.2 ๐ ๐ซ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฎME! It was bingo night with Mom last night, noone won. I did have a peppermint patty - which is off my plan this week. Slightly over on the calories. Didn't make my step goal yesterday, thinking I might be a stretch, but will keep it there until I hear from the doctor today. I am a little nervous about what she will say - hoping at least they can tell me why I hurt.
June 5: 147 ๐ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฎME! Complete rest day for me. First no exercise day in a LONG time. I am going to start doing this once a week. Had my follow-up appointment yesterday - torn meniscus with moderate arthritis. My doctor said that the combination of the two makes the treatment a little trickier. The meniscus tear surgery can lead to worsening the arthritis. With that in mind she suggested a cortizone shot. I went with that option, I don't feel much differnt today - but she said it might take a bit. Fingers crossed it works. I am very happy about my weight loss - looks like the Nutrisystem boost is working - probably coupled with the ibuprofen detox!
June 6: 146.8 ๐ ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ซ ๐งโโ๏ธ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฎME! Beautiful day, we spent it on the boat on the Connecticut River. I don't know what it is - but just so relaxing sitting on the water. Got in a small seated cardio, and some stretching when we go home. The NS still appears to be working, so ordered another week and then I am done. They had a free order a la cart trial for the month - just what I needed.
June 7: 146.7 ๐ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ช๐งโโ๏ธ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฎME! Quiet day for me. Felt a little better so cleaned the kitchen and family room, and vaccuumed. Then felt a little sore. Hoping to finish the downstairs today. I also got in a STANDING strength workout (knee friendly - no squats, no lunges) and it felt wonderful. Hoping to get in a 1/2 mile walk today - baby steps! Didn't meet my step goal - but easing into it. I kind of feel guilty about claiming the ones above - because they were seated steps - but then I said - it was still steps - take the win!
June 8: 146.2 ๐ ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ซ ๐งโโ๏ธ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฎME! Happy Weekend! I got in a 1/2 mile walk - Woo Hoo. Was going to attempt to do my cardio routine standing - but ending up sitting down. Guess I'm not ready for that. Didn't get the rest of the house cleaned - hubby took down a tree yesterday that was blocking the sun for the garden. I watch while he drops the tree to make sure that he is safe. It got hung up in another tree (yes this is Dรฉjร vu the same thing happened the last time he dropped a tree)- so was out there until he could get it safely to the ground. Before I knew it the day was gone.

@jm216 Happy Weekend to you! My favorite is green! ๐ด๐๐๐ต
@cattherien Good luck with the tea experiment. ๐ซ
@kebass01 Don't beat yourself up too much - but that being said - you can't let it de-rail you. This is one less I learned this time around - I would always quit after a binge. This time around I just said "NO" get back at it. You will have times that aren't as good as they could be - but NEVER give up. You've fot this!4 -
For those that make be interested - The Hogwarts Challenge is starting up again soon. I aways promote this group - it has been a godsend for me. I am a huge Harry Potter fan and this group keeps me on track in a such a fun way. I am going to be honest - it is A LOT! But so creative. Here is the link to join if you are interested. By the way - I am a Hufflepuff!

I self-sabotaged last night, on a number of levels. When I went shopping the other day, I bought a wide variety of fruit to help with the sweet tooth. But then I also bought a baked good. And last night I snacked - not on the cornucopia of fruit; it's multiple levels of not good because I brushed aside multiple internal warnings. Plus, with my gut issues, sugar really does a number on my digestion and it does take days to recover from that. Inside my head I went to the "it won't be that bad" denial, which of course isn't true and I have an upset stomach this morning. ๐คฆ I don't usually buy stuff like that, and this is my body telling me, "I told you so!"1 -
@deepwoodslady, @ginnygee01, and @kebass01, I'm sending all of us hugs and commiseration on the self-sabotage of temptation to poor choices... It's not good that we do it; but it's good that we have support to get back on the horse. Today is another day, a fresh start. ๐ซถ
And happy belated birthday, kebass01!
@ilive2walk you were talking about resilience - not giving up after an indulgence. This is such a huge topic; resilience as an element of emotional intelligence that affects every area of our lives. I'm so glad to see that recommitment displayed in our group, as we all rise from our mistakes and don't let it derail our intention to meet a goal. This alone is a huge win for all of us.
Tea experiment was a critfail; but that knowledge is valuable, and I can tweak with the tea, just alternate with other things like the Mio.
The Hogwarts challenge sounds interesting... I'm a fan..ish; we have all the books and the movies, and re-read or rewatch occasionally. How is it a game changer for you? What makes it so motivating?1 -
@cattherien I love the homework, I am like Hermione, you give me an assignment and I get it done. They give you tasks that you must complete each week, exercise, food, and self help related. Each gives you points for your house to win the house cup. The assignments are creative and fun. If I were left on my own, don't know if I would get it all done every week. Knowing that my team is relying on me to get those house points makes me more motivated and accountable to get it done. That being said, it's not for everyone, a big commitment for 8 weeks.3

Hi everyone,
Happy weekend! Once again, I am driving myself "batty" by getting on the scale every day and being alternately encouraged, disappointed and/or bewildered, depending on the number displayed; therefore, I'm going to drop off this board but I will definitely (and gratefully) remain in the weekly one!
Best wishes to all!

06/07-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- Today is my normal no-weigh Friday. Yesterday was a so-so day. I did not follow my pre-logged foods and ended choosing not-so-wisely in most cases, even if it fit in my macros. I found my choices to be frivolous, lazy and not very fulfilling. I will make better actual choices today by pre-logging and actually STICKING TO IT!!! Exercise was mediocre at best but I did get a little bit in. Hard to do with contractors all day and my DGS arrived in the evening for an overnight. I did start today with another short youtube video before he woke up today.
06/08-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- I rushed out the door early today without thought to weighing or posting. I suppose it doesnโt matter much since I had linner out and feel so bloated right now that I probably wonโt be weighing in tomorrow anyway. Sodium galore and more carbs than usual probably filled my liver glycogen up galore. I got right into my night gown this evening as soon as I got home as my button & zip capris were feeling tight. Tomorrow will be an extremely lean food day. Probably OMAD.

June 9: 146.3 ๐ ๐ง๐ฆ ๐๐ฎME! Was an off the rail day for me. Ate what I wanted, no exercise. I did track everything, was 600 calories above my goal! The one saving grace was that it was not sodium related - was actually under that goal. I was actually plesantly surprised it didn't jump higher - might show up on the scale tomorrow. Back to it today!

I was really busy yesterday, we're going to go stay up at our rental house tonight, so I was prepping for that. I didn't stop to track what I was eating around the time I ate it, and ended up way over calories by the time I logged it all just before bed.
Tomorrow is a DNW because I don't have a scale at the rental. But I'll still log and come in here to report.3 -
@iLive2Walk that Hogwarts challenge does sound like a lot of fun and I can see why you like it, lots of direct accountability built in.0

06/09-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- Several trips disrupting my weekend/week. Travel always wreaks havoc on the scale. Next trip is very early Tuesday morning to the Cardiologist for a follow-up due to some symptoms. I donโt think my scale will level off until at least Thursday. Iโm not sure when I will want to weigh between now and then, however, every day I am home and not out-of-town or traveling I will be mindful of both food and exercise, God willing.

Thanks for all the encouraging words. Staying tight on the calories with mostly protein packed options (meat only, high protein yogurts, occasional salad). Yes my shirts are looser, I can fit in my fat jeans again, and down almost 25lbs total. Today is a couch day so prob eat one big meal around 3 and call it good for the day.2 -
