How about never starting over, because you've never stopped? By treating any 'mishaps' as simply a learning experience for the next day of your journey?

It also helps to find a strategy that you can stick to long-term into maintenance - making gradual, durable changes instead of a big overhaul with temporary changes that only serve to lose weight (after which you revert to old habits, or alternatively never reach goal weight because you give up)

Do not be discouraged! You had a bad day or bad choice, it’s a new day, do better today. Do not think of this as a diet or loosing weight, it’s a lifestyle change to a healthy you! In every part of life, we make mistakes, we pickup & try harder & learn from them. You got this!😊

How long do you seem to last before you fall off the wagon? I find that if I need to cut and I can make it 2 weeks with perfect logging, I'm over the hump and can be consistent.

Yeah, I agree with the above. I'd add:

Don't try to change everything at one time. Like don't try to live off chicken breast and broccoli on Day One. Just cut back on the foods you like to eat already and LOG THEM as accurately as you can. Start really looking at/studying your food log. What's missing? Protein? Fiber? Vegetables? Start by adding things, not subtracting. That mindset works a lot better.

Then, write down your "Why." Why is it important to you to lose weight? Health? Social life? Doing more fun things? New wardrobe? Not feeling defeated or tired all the time? Write it down. Every day write down a reason.

If you don't have a "Why" it's hard to do pretty much anything.

Everyone regains for one main reason...................................they stopped being consistent. So you just have to get back to doing what you did to keep your weight down.
