Ok question about this week.
Since today is the last day of September, will we end the week with the new October challenges or does the week continue with the September challenges since that's what it started with? For Friday/Saturday/Sunday will be we completing Sept or Oct challenges?
Might be a silly question. Just trying to plot out my weekend....

I know I'm late, but I worked all morning and didn't get a chance to breathe.
Since I am on steroids for an allergic reaction, I'm taking it a little easier on myself but I can't let today pass by without issuing a challenge.
I challenge someone to do more minutes than me on an elliptical machine this evening.0 -

Last month we finished out the week and then moved on to thenext month on the 1st Monday so I assume that is what we're doing now. Lori correct me if I'm wrong0 -
You are right. October challenges will start on Monday. So this weekend is the calorie burn challenge.0

I'm sore as hell. I worry if I clench my butt cheeks that they will either spasm or get stuck...ouch!
But it's a good sore and well earned.

Well it's kinda of a funny thing, it was Wednesday night's class. I go to a Get Pumped class on Wednesday so I didn't consider it a challenge because it's something I do all the time. Except my usual instructor wasn't there. In her place was a well sculpted, tall, Nazi instructor who had us doing things that were painful yet gratifying. I loved and hated it all at the same time.
So what started out as my normal Wednesday night routine turned into the challenge of doing something new. And boy am I feelin' today!
Plus I'm usually a 2-3 times a week workout kinda gal so I'm also sore from working out 4 days in a row. :happy:0 -

We've got 13 weeks left until the New Year by my count. I'll need to average 2.25 pounds per week from here on out to meet my original goal. Dicey, but possible. I was originally thinking about adjusting my goal down some, but then I thought, "If you aim low that's exactly where you'll land," so I'm gonna leave it as is.

Frustrated....
My system isn't used to Monday weigh-ins so I showed a 3 lb gain. Oh well...trying not to let it get to me though I'd feeling pretty down.
But upwards and onwards. My goal for the next 13 weeks is just to stick with the challenges. I won't set any weight goals because that can be counterproductive for me. Instead I just want to feel good and be ready for my 5k race the first week of January.0 -
13 weeks, huh? I've got 20 to lose by then to meet my goal. Possible, but not at the rate I've been losing lately! Grrrr. Let's hope adding more exercise will ramp it up a little.
And in a month when my new basement is done, including my pretty new home gym, I'll have no excuses!
Kekibird, I think you have a great attitude. Sticking with the challenges is more important for my mindset right now than numbers on the scale. If I can commit, then I will gain confidence and assurance that this will work in the long term.
I'm tempted to sign up for a 5K in January too, but I don't think I'm going to have enough training opportunities. So my reward when I hit 150 (which I hope to by spring) is to sign up for something good then and start training.0 -
I had a gain today, too. First item since July, I'm freaking out! I had great workouts and ate so clean over the weekend, too.
I'm trying not to let it get to me though because I feel great! This is the most fit I have been in my entire life and I can only imagine what I'll feel like when I actually get down to a normal BMI, sheesh. I can't wait.
I did something crazy last month and signed up for a 5K way before I was ready. It's in 2 weeks now. I have never been a runner and as of today I can only run about a mile without dying, but I'm forcing myself to do it. I'm going to run and walk in intervals and as long as I finish the dang thing in a somewhat reasonable time, I'm going to call it a success0 -

I have to lose about 3.2 pounds a week in order to reach my goal of losing a total of 90 pounds by the end of the year. I know it sounds like a lot but since I'm on the heavier side of 200, it's easier for me to drop a higher amount of weight each week. I expect it to slow down by January. I like giving myself really high goals, because it pushes me to reach that goal. Also, I really don't want to fix my spreadsheet. The numbers look too pretty.0 -
Squats and lunges are done! Now to just get those jumping jacks in.
Also did some shopping. Bought a grapefruit and a weird looking green squash. I've tried neither of these! They'll be apart of my fruit meal AND my something new :bigsmile:0 -

Sign up!!! Do it!!! I did a 5k obstacle course on October 1st. I was not ready in any way, shape or form- it took me an hour and 15 minutes to complete it. But I felt soooo good and proud of myself afterward. Don't wait. Go for it!0 -

Every week we do planks, I'm going to try and hold it for 15-30 seconds longer. We shall see how it goes.
Also, yesterday I was doing the lunges, and they were terrible on me knee. My right knee has been having some problems, so would it be okay to do modified lunges? I'm sure I can do more sets of them as well, but it was difficult going all the way down to the ground and then going back up.0 -

Good morning everyone. I am the newest memeber of Team Abnehmen -adamkat aka Kathy. I am quite new to the boards so I have lots of learning to do on how to maneuver around but all in time. I am so excited to be part of a challenge and to be a New me by the New Year for sure!! I turn 40 on December 28th so my goal to to be the best I can be and a hot 40 instead of a so-so 40.

Sharing a recipe, Jambalaya from my taste of home comfort food diet cookbook. Low in calories and fills you up. 1 cup equals 228 calories, 11 g fat (4 g saturated fat), 95 mg cholesterol, 692 mg sodium 12 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 18 g protein, Diabetic exchanges: 2 lean meat, 1 starch, 1 fat.
1 pound smoked polish sausage, cut into 1/2-inch slices
1/2 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) beef broth
1 can 914-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
2 celery ribs, chopped
1/2 cup tomato paste
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1 -1/2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 pound cooked medium shrimp, peeled and devined
2 cups cooked rice
In a 5-qt. slow cooker, combine the first 12 ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until chicken is no longer pink.
Stir in shrimp and rice. cover and cook 15 minut4es longer or until heated through.
Yield : 12 servings.0
