Hey there, just checking in with my mid-week updates!
Starting weight: 219 lbs (6/10/24)
Ending weight: 214.2 lbs (6/30/24)
Total loss: -4.8lbs (in 20 days)
Goal weight: 150-165lbs
Goal Body Fat: 20-25%
Goals for July: ✔
- Work 4 days/week ✔
- Walk 10k steps minimum 3x/week ✔
- Log meals daily and accurately ✔
- Gym 3x/week ✔
- Drink more water and less sugar ✔
- Treat myself once/week with a self date ✔
- Weigh in an 205lbs at the end of the month (-8lbs loss)
JULY:
1st: 213 lbs
2nd: 212.8 lbs
3rd: 211.6 lbs
4th: 212 lbs
5th: 213.2 lbs
6th: 212.4 lbs
7th: 212.4 lbs
8th: 211.6 lbs
9th: 212.4 lbs
10th: 212.2 lbs
Non weight Successes:
- I'm starting to build up a regular client base at work, which means I have a regular income
- At the gym I was able to do the entire abs circuit without taking a break. That's my first time being able to do that since starting 3 weeks ago!
- I picked out an AMAZING watermelon today, first good one of the season and I'm ready to devour it over the next few days (in a heat wave atm, and watermelon is my favourite food)
I have to admit, on Tuesday morning I was beginning to feel frustrated with the scale being teetering in the same vicinity over the period of a week. I know I'm losing fat, I know I'm ultimately down trending, but it was still frustrating to be weighing in close to a new low, only to weigh 1lb more then next morning. I know it's part of the process, I think I was just excited to see a new number and then disappointed that morning when I didn't. I'm just waiting to get through the plateau barrier for the next "shed week" when I lose 0.5lbs each day, those are always reassuring! But until then I'm going to remind myself that calorie deficit PLUS working out means I might not lose "weight" but I AM losing fat, and that's what I'm looking for!
Here's to the rest of the week!1 -

I started my journey at the beginning of June. I realized that the scale CANNOT go up any further. I realized all my clothes are tight and it's just not healthy anymore. I need to make a change. I tried MFP but decided to give WW a try to see if it is better. I like all the zero point foods and the virtual workshops so I am going to stick with it. I'm also doing the program with a friend so it makes it easier to stay on track. I'm headed on a big 10 day road trip on Saturday and I'm nervous to lose my progress. I want to enjoy myself but I am going to try my hardest to stick to plan and keep tracking. I bought a bunch of low point snacks and going to pack a cooler with fresh fruit and vegetables. Excited to hit up some okanagan fruit stands and get fresh fruit. I'm going to try my best!
I hope everyone has a good week!2 -
I lost a half pound. Down to 186! I can feel 185 so closely I can almost taste it. Lost 3/4 of an inch off my waist. Happy to see progress.2

[Stats & Goals]Starting Weight: 223.6 January / 0*******************************************
Starting Weight: 215.0 February / 8.6
Starting Weight: 215.4 March / 8.2
Starting Weight: 219.2 April / 5.2
Starting Weight: 218.4 May / 3.2
Starting Weight: 220.4 June /2.0
Starting Weight: 221.6 July
Goals for 2024 > Trend downwards. My ultimate goal weight is between 140 - 150. While I'd like to lose about 5lbs a month, I'm focusing instead on actions that could/should result in that loss.
I've pretty much wiped out my weight loss achieved earlier in the year!
I've done exceptionally well with exercise but not as well with calorie consumption. My food choices aren't bad, but I have an issue with portion control. I will snack if snacks are available, so I try to keep them out of the house. And I very much enjoy red wine. I learned, the hard way, in the last 7 months, that you can't lose weight with exercise alone. Celebrating the wins: I also learned that you can change your body composition and you can get stronger with exercise and strength training. I also re-confirmed that I need to set a daily calorie goal about 250 to 300 less than what I should target to leave room for wiggle room. I know my faults, I just have to work with them. It's not going to happen over night and it's not going to happen if I stop, so I must continue.
Closed on my home: 6/25 with intermittent moving through 6/27
Big Move on 6/29
Unpacking: Indefinitely!!!
I'm all over the place right now. Usually, ending the day with wine, not tracking food, and not intentionally exercising. I've given myself through the weekend to regroup with everything and then buckle down on all accounts until the end of the month. Then it's vacation time
Goals and Targets for July 15 - 30
- Tracking/Under Calorie Budget >
Plan for 1250 - Flex for 400 = 1650 (1250 - 1650) 🍎
- Macros - hit Protein >
Plan for 150. 100 is acceptable. (100 - 150) ✅
- Water - 80oz minimum >
Pushing myself here and that's ok!
Not less than 70 is acceptable (70 - 100)💧
- Closing my rings M-S🚶🏽10k Steps a bonus!
My Mantra(s):
Things I need to remember daily!
🏋🏾♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
Eat well 🥗to Live Well 🚢✈️🧳
H2O - Make it Flow 💦💦💦
Lose weight in the kitchen ⚖️, get fit in the gym🏋🏾♀️
Note to Self: Alcohol kills weight loss as the focus is burning alcohol calories and not fat calories!

Hi ! Trying to get below 221 . Well, I guess I will but it’s wait and see when it’ll happen. Stalled a bit yesterday as we had the tail end of a huge hurricane so couldn’t go out to walk. It was still a bad storm . See ya ‘ !1

Welcome @Japnaam4
@lisakatz2 ~ Congrats on your progress. That's super motivating that people have started to notice as well. It's difficult for us to see progress as we see ourselves every day! Take that half pound as a win!
@Kristinwoods919 ~ a smaller belt is a win!
@pamperedlinny ~ It is a WIN that you have not returned to the start of your journey AND you are taking action now. There's nothing easy about this process.
@CeCeFlyy, I'm so glad you had a nice vacation. It's interesting to see your reflection on your current living situation. I hope it works out for you. The drinking vessel is key to water consumption, in my opinion. I bought a 50-oz water bottle with a straw (I didn't think I'd like the straw) with the goal of filling and emptying it two times daily. I went from barely getting 32 ounces to 70 to 80 ounces! It took me a very long time to find my "why".
@jenbroussard71 ~ Congrats on losing your "Riley Rose" weight! You've done extremely well for two months in. Keep it going. How did the meeting go for a personal trainer?
@quolwy ~ your goals look solid for July! Wishing you well. What does your homemade coffee consist of? Nevermind...@lisakatz2 asked the same question Awesome plank work!! I'm currently at 1 second aiming for 5 seconds Good luck with the interview.
@roz0810 ~ congrats on your progress, hope your ear infection is better.
@KeriA ~ congrats on your retirement and the ability to focus on you and your health. I understand completely and I am reducing to part-time starting mid August. I am so excited about what this means for me. Full retirement TBD after this experiment.
@Sharon81 ~ Looks like solid progress to me. Congrats
@pashin8nz2000~ good Luck to you.
@Missnewme9211 ~Welcome!
@Mmatcha_latte ~ Congrats on reaching wonderland!!!
@jo_casey42 ~ Good luck with WW. Enjoy your 10-day road trip and do your best, but don't fret about it.
Welcome to all the new members that I didn't call out by name. I've been gone for the past couple of weeks so you may have joined in June. Welcome, none the less!

@itladyee Thank you! Since the initial meeting I have had two training sessions. She is a very encouraging trainer and she explains everything very well. She is helping me work on my form. So far we are only doing body weight exercise, then I will progress to bands and eventually weights. I've had knee surgery and back surgery in the past and she is mindful and checks with me frequently to make sure I am not experiencing any pain. I am a little sore but I feel good. I don't have another session until next Monday, so this morning I walked on the treadmill. Tomorrow I plan on looking up Pilates on YouTube. One of my friends suggested "Move with Nicole." Hope you are doing well!0

I'm glad you found a very conscientious trainer, especially after your surgeries. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Sorry I got quiet. 4th of July weekend took a LOT out of me and then returning to work on Monday left me a ton of work. Ugh! So I've been swamped. But I'm still hanging on. I'll try to read thru all the other posts from this week later today or tomorrow. It's just been crazy busy.3
-
My weigh in day is yesterday and I gained 1.4 pounds for the week. Then I weighed in again today and lost 1.4 pounds!! Must have been water weight. I feel good, and ready to go on the road trip. Can't wait to get fresh interior BC fruit. We're going to try our hardest not to eat out and just pack lunches. We have sooooo many low point snacks so I'm hoping it will be fine. I contemplated bringing my weigh in scale so that I could still weigh myself daily to stay accountable but I think that is overkill. And I'd be scared to forget it somewhere along the way. I'm 1.2 pounds away from a 15 pound lost. So close! My clothes are fitting better. I feel more in control. I"m so happy to have found WW. I also love the community of MFP and this group is great! We're all in this together!4
-
I wish I had taken pictures in April when I decided to commit to living a healthy lifestyle. I am in smaller clothes and the scale has moved, but I wish I had the pictures. Especially now that I am exercising more, the scale may move more slowly but the progress would show in pictures or measurements (I did not take measurements either.)
So just a reminder - take the pictures!1 -
Hello:)
I'm jumping in for the remainder of July and am excited to be in this group for accountability and motivation.
I'm currently 225 and would like ot lose slowly and steadily to get to 170/180. That range has, in my adult life, felt comfortable and useful. I just know right now, I'm not very comfortable, I have a bad knee and really feel it lately. Looking forward mostly to those non-scale victories: strength, mobility, better sleep, clearer skin, getting up and down from the floor w/o a struggle, etc, etc. lol
If anyone would like to friend me, feel free! Eating junk has been my more destructive habit so i made my diary public and am sure the accountability for myself will be useful. Thanks!!
2 -
@PansyLass13 I just sent a friend request to you. Our goals are very similar. I haven't set a final number as my goal, I think I will know when I feel comfortable as you mentioned. One of my NSV is that I am better able to get up and down off of the floor, a few months ago I would have never gotten on the floor to begin with. I was too afraid I would need help getting up.1

I was away from the scale for just over two weeks and ended up with a nice loss! I haven’t been working out, though, so I’m afraid some of it is muscle. I run summer camps for teenagers, so I was out a lake for two weeks with very little time to think about exercise. I did stay away from carbs and sugar, though, my two enemies! These next two weeks I’ll be running camps in town, so I can hopefully have a little better nutrition and work on exercising again.
I got a new pair of jeans in May that were a little bit too small and I remember thinking “I’ll bet these are low 160’s jeans” and sure enough, they are! I wore them this week and they look cute and don’t squeeze like they did 5 pounds ago. It’s amazing how much of a difference even just 5lbs can make!!
Keep at it, ladies!! The small decisions we make today end up being BIG once they all add up!2 -

I guess my body was ready for a big woosh this week. 😳 I noticed that it usually happens about a week before my period. I start feeling itchy all over my body, but mostly in my trunk. I have a lot of loose skin around my waist from previous weight loss and it all gets so itchy for a few days... Then woosh, weight suddenly falls off and the itchiness is gone. It's really strange!
Anyhow, my next goal is 196 lbs, which is BMI 29.9 and no longer obese, just overweight. 😭 I gotta make it there!!3 -

12th: 214.6 lbs
13th: 215.2 lbs
14th: 216.6 lbs (wow this is quite the spike)
Non weight Successes:
- Not only did I get 10k steps 4x this week, I got 12k steps twice and 18k steps once!
- Got out for a picnic to relax in the shade and read a book while my boyfriend practiced skateboarding, which was a nice change to the monotony as of late!
- I have an interview tomorrow for a potential new job, which is great because my current one isn't enough to pay the bills sadly.
- Feeling stronger each day, and really getting used to going to the gym regularly!
On the 12th I had a day out, buying dinner and drinking a bit, and finished it with doughnuts! The dinner actually wasn't too bad, spicy Korean grilled octopus, I'd say the highest calories were the drinks and doughnuts but I also got 18k steps and did a tough workout that morning so I'm QUITE sure it's just water retention as my body recalibrates back to eating at home. Good fun night though so no regrets!
Alright everyone, here's to another week!1 -
Hi! I’m 30, a mom of two littles, and I currently weigh 228 pounds. I really am just hoping and praying I can lose 5 pounds right now. I never have lost 5 pounds successfully, because I really haven’t stuck with anything long enough. My goal weight is 150, but I have a really hard time believing I’ll ever be able to get there if I can’t lose those first 5 pounds. So that’s where I’m at. Like most of us have, I have tried EVERYTHING. I always really struggled to stick to anything because I really struggled mentally with the deprivation thing and I felt my body rebel big-time. But this time I’m going through the Beck Diet Solution, which is a cognitive behavioral therapy book for weight loss, and it feels soooo promising. Plus the research is in favor of behavioral work for weight loss, so I’m so hopeful. I would really, really like to connect with other folks here and become MFP “friends,” so if you’re as fed up and ready for change as I am, please friend me!
This summer has been busy so far with visits with friends and family. Right now we are sick with covid 🙃 but it could be worse. Hoping I can continue to stick to my diet while all I want is comfort food.
God bless you all!5 -

The scale did not move much even though I was more active then I have been in a very long time. I exercised 4 times this past week and did quite a bit of house work and reorganizing. I think I slacked on the water though. I did start snacking on almonds, that's really the only dietary change that I made. To be honest, sometimes I am weighing my portions and sometimes I am not. This week I will get back to weighing everything and water. I don't know why I struggle to find balance?
I am just hoping that the scale will catch up with the work that I am putting in.0 -

Hello all 😊
This is my third time using MFP but first real time trying to get involved w/the community. I'm normally a bit shy, but accountability and support are really huge for me to get anything done. I'm hoping to grow enough to keep myself accountable without so much support, but appreciate any help along thw way!
Goals for july:
-Log food consistently: so far so good! I am leaving space on the weekends as I tend to get really disappointed with myself and quit when I don't do sth 100% right.
-weigh ins AT LEAST monthly, but ideally every Monday: I have not started this consistently yet, so my aim is to get that into my calendar and have a set schedule.
-post a weekly check in: even a little something to stay active in the group and stay up to date with others stories and progress. I hope this will increase motivation and feeling of community
-get connected with weight and wellness clinic in my area: i already have a referral placed, just waiting to schedule an appt!
Thank you for reading!4 -
@GardenQueen30 Welcome!! You totally got this. I generally find the first week or two of a new lifestyle change is the hardest and it gets easier from there. When I was 31, I was 225 lbs and thought that was just the way I was going to be for the rest of my life. Fast forward three years, I’m sitting in the low 160’s and I truly feel like I can do anything! I share that to say, true change is possible!! You can do this!! Hoping you feel better soon and your new program works for you.
@Cinnamonpimp Staying active in this group is a HUGE motivator for me too! As soon as I stopped posting, I started gaining again 😂 It helps to be “around” (even if it’s just online) other people fighting the same battles. Wishing you all the success!2 -

Last week was crazy busy, so I missed yesterday’s weigh in. But today I woke up feeling “morning skinny” and I haven’t felt that in a while. I usually wake up still full and bloated.
One thing I want to improve from last week:
I haven’t been tracking. My intake hasn’t been horrible by any means but I feel like I can still tighten things up. On the other hand, there hasn’t been much food noise and there’s been more listening to my body. So, maybe tracking isn’t the right thing for me right now. I mean we have results this week.
One thing I enjoyed from last week:
I had my little cousin for the week, she’s 9. So there was lots of playing, running, wrestling, and just fun movement throughout the days. I’m struggling to get up and workout if it’s not a walk, so maybe I’ll bring back my dance workouts a couple times a week. I think I’m trying to push myself too hard, too fast and it’s making me stagnant.
NSV:
✨ I feel alive
✨ I have more energy
✨ I’m putting more whole foods in my body4 -
Just starting to make some changes in my diet and activity levels. I already feel better and more energized in my day to day, but I’m having a hard time keeping my mindset focused on the long term. I’m so motivated right NOW and I want to do everything all at once - I think I’m scared that the motivation will run out sooner or later, so I want to lose all the weight and get super fit as fast as I can before that happens. Unfortunately that’s not how it works lol … so I’m trying to let myself go slow and celebrate the small wins along the way, instead of getting frustrated that it’s not happening fast enough.
Any tips to keep me going?? Excited to be here and looking forward to learning from the group!!3 -
No weight loss this week. I confess I've been overeating stuff. At least I haven't gained, and I'm set on getting a handle on it. Don't want to undue the progress I've worked so hard for.3
-
hello, I don't usually join groups and stuff but going at things all alone sometimes is tiring, so I hope I can be part of this
I started back on this app April '23, so I have been at it for more than a year now, I got some results but nothing huge, trying to keep motivated tho
Aaaa I guess it's time for some stats?
SW: 123.8kg (272lb) in April 2023
CW: 101.7kg (224lb)
GW: 66kg (145lb) - for my height I should be waaay less than this, but for now this goal will work
A smaller goal I have is to get below 100kg (220) for August, hope I can make it~

@SirOnionKnight - Welcome! I just wanted to say that losing 48 pounds in since April 2023 is a big accomplishment - Congratulations! You're in the right place for motivation. I find that just logging weekly makes me feel more accountable. Glad you are here and I look forward to seeing your progress!3

16th: 213.2 lbs
17th: 213 lbs
Non weight Successes:
- Went to a job interview and after only 5mins the boss loved me and is going to schedule me in for a test shift next week!
- Booked in another free personal training session on Sunday
- Moved to heavier weights at the gym, so now not only am I feeling stronger, I also have actual proof!
I know my stats don't seem super impressive, since I haven't seemed to lose weight yet this month, but I'm still excited! I know my body composition is changing a lot, and even without losing weight, I'm losing fat and losing inches and that's more important to me!
Tomorrow is my birthday, and I'm going to a friend's house for a backyard BBQ and some cake! I'm excited, I am going to enjoy the snacks but also try to stay intuitive with my eating. I'm also going to the gym in the morning, so I'll be feeling good!5 -
@jenbroussard71 thank you very much for the welcome!
Ah, I usually struggle a lot to loose weight, like it takes me a long time and I'm trying not to go in the "well I'll just stop eating" mode this time around I know it doesn't work and it's better to keep a good diet, even if it takes longer that way♥ I increased my activity levels tho, so I'm a bit optimist~2 -
I have another big update already! For some reason I had another woosh and I met my next goal, which I didn't expect til the end of the month or even later. 🙈 I'm starting my period so maybe that's why? I dunno, but I'm not going to argue! I've weighed in at 195.2 for the past two days so I think I'm officially no longer obese! 🥳

Hi ladies,
Here is exhausted mom of two gorgeous monkeys, 3.5 years and 15 months, and two senior pups (13 and 14), who need a lot of help. With full time jobs, and a house to take care of, both my hubby and I are dying...
I weight 195lbs, and I had since second baby. Haven't lost anything in 15 months. Any free moment I have, I want to lay down and close my eyes, and not workout or think of calories...
I cook a lot, kids love it, but homemade buns, homemade pasta, from scratch and likes of it should be forbidden for me - at least forbidden in the amounts I'm eating....
Anyways, I would like to:
1. Start my day with green tea
2. Eat smaller portions
2. Not stuff a spoonful of Nutella, or other crap in my mouth while preparing food for kids
3. Drink more water
What I need is some encouragement and support.... My hubby, who btw snacks at 11pm at night, drinks bear, eats all day long, has a 6pack abs. Sometimes I feel I gain wait just while looking at him eat!!
I'm turning 40 in October. And I would like to get to 170 by then. It's possible, I know what I need to do (and what not to do), but I have no motivation 😔... Any help would be more then welcome!!
