any tips on how to lose weight

I'm someone who occasionally struggles with maintaining a healthy weight due to overeating. For the past 2 months, I've been going to the gym regularly and monitoring my calorie intake. I currently weigh 145 pounds and my height is 5'2". My weight tends to fluctuate, and it can be a bit disheartening. My goal is to reach 125 pounds. Any advice on how to achieve this goal more efficiently would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome to mfp! I'm sure that some of the people who have been here a long time will give you great advice. Going to the gym is great, but it's the overeating that is making this a struggle for you. I have the same issue. And going to the gym doesn't fix it for me. Weighing and measuring my food does. And logging it. For the foreseeable future, I know that in order to reach a healthy weight, I need to accurately log what I eat and drink. That means that when I made my scrambled eggs this morning, I need to log the butter that I used when I cooked them. Everything counts. Keep going to the gym. Moving your body and making it strong are important. The other thing I learned by logging my food is what foods work for me, which do not, and which ones that just aren't worth the calories.
Oh, and everybody's weight fluctuates, especially if you came into this world with ovaries. That might be something you just need to reconcile with yourself. I find that even when I am at a consistent weight, there are days that certain clothes just don't fit right. On those days, I choose something else. It's always temporary.6 -
Small weight fluctuations are normal and should be expected. For example, if your goal weight is 125 lbs, then you'd probably maintain in a range between 123 - 130 lbs.
You say you're "monitoring your calorie intake", meaning??? If you don't accurately weigh, measure, and log your calorie intake you'll probably continue to be frustrated, which you don't want. Just start logging everything you eat and drink and see where you can cut some calories. Look at weekly averages over time instead of focusing on each and every day as "good or bad".
There are lots of knowledgeable people here, so even if you don't get specific feedback to your thread, read through others on this forum. You can learn a lot that way.2
