How do I go back 6 years to see what I was eating to lose weight

I'm needing to get back on track and was successful in 2018 through to earlier this year. I would like to go back to see what I was eating in a day, and what my "usual" food choices were.

I don't go that far back on the platform but if you're in the web version it's under 'food' and there is a calendar you can shift backwards provided you are using the same account:

Same possibility in the app: tap on the date and a calendar pops up. Theoretically possible to go back to 1900 according to the options 😆
(I can't go back more than 3 years in my diary, earlier than that and it's empty - deleted by MFP)

I can't go back to 2019 to check (which, your post made me curious to check my entries at that time since that was the time I got closest to my goal weight in many years as well). Nothing, spot checked a bunch of time in there when I know I was being very religious about tracking, and not a single entry, so they must automatically delete it after a certain amount of time.
Kind of disappointing for an app we pay a fair bit for, you'd think it could stay accessible if you're paying at least!

If you use free MFP, you get a limited timespan of data retention. (I don't remember what it is: Maybe 2 years?) If you have premium MFP, it's longer, maybe permanent. (I can go back to when I joined MFP. I have premium now, but FWIW I didn't have it continuously all the time since 2015. I don't recall when I first got premium.)

Interesting! It didn't occur to me that entries might be deleted! I've only been actively using MFP since Spring 2023, so I don't know how far back I can go.

On the Android version, if you want to hop back, tho, just click on the word "Today", at the top of your Food Diary. You can use the drop down menu next to the Month Date (not next to the Month Day Date), to change years; you can use the < > to scroll back a month at a time - in the month scrolling, just click on a date to go to that date. You can use the ✏ icon next to the Month Day Date to input a specific date to hop back to ...
