Was this a recipe you entered yourself, a recipe you've logged before but can't find now, or simply a dish you feel should be in the database but isn't? What to do would be different depending on which of those (or something else) it is.

Generally, if one can't find a food entry to log, the answer is to create it oneself and log it.

    Your recipe? MFP's recipe?

If your recipe, one you've entered all the ingredients and logged it before, and you expected to find it via the recipes tab when you tried to log it in your diary, that would be a situation to turn in a bug report via the Help links in MFP.

A couple things you could try first:

If you have access to both a web browser and the MFP phone/tablet app, try searching for it using the web browser version of MFP if you usually use the app, or vice-versa. Those are two different pieces of software, and sometimes one has a bug that the other doesn't.

If you can't find it when you go to log it in your diary, try finding it via the Recipes tab in the food section of the web browser version of MFP, or via the My Recipes menu item in the More menu of the phone/tablet app. (Vice versa if you tried to find it in first in Recipes or My Recipes). Again, if there's a bug, those different routes might produce different results.

If you expect to find it in the food database but you've never entered it yourself then you need to do it. Like Ann explained; make use of the recipe tap and enter all ingredients in grams. You hence need to weigh them. Then make your own recipe. Why? Because you have no idea what's included in the recipes other people created. Even a scrambled egg can have massive differences in calories, depending on how much oil was used, how many eggs, how heavy, etc.
