I have started taking Ozempic. I also started going to the gym. In 25 days in, and already lost 10 lbs. I am lbs 297 and 5'10. My goal is to reach 185 in 16 months. I would love to hear your stories on ozempic. How much weight did you lose? What did you do (apps, gym, logging, fasting....etc .)? Any tips?

I just started Ozempic too. First shot was yesterday. I am 197 lbs, 5'1 ^_^ looking forward to a positive result! Have you experienced anything though like side effects?5

Hello. I was on Ozempic (to lose weight) and I in fact lost. I lost 49 lbs. That is incorporating gym 4 days a week. However, please know, unless you stay steady with your gym and balance how much food intake, you WILL gain it back after coming off the medication. I've gained 10lbs since stopping the medication in June. It helped me make better life choices and helped me get going in the gym when I was taking the medication, it does WORK. Now, I am fighting my hunger pains because all that has come back now. I have to stay strong and watch my macros.
Yes, I had side affects; not like most, I was able to tolerate the medication with a few abdominal side affects in the beginning.

The most important thing when you're on ozempic is to learn how to eat; make sure you are getting your protein intake. I also gained the weight back because the medication does help with the food noise, so you stop snacking and you have more control when making choices. That being said; if you "LEARN" how to eat for when you wean off the meds, then you should be able to maintain the weight off.
@shurandy_ don't be so quick to judge; sometimes people have tried it all to lose weight and nothing works. I never knew of "food noise" until I took the medicine and it went away. Call it lack of discipline if you want, but for people like me for which food becomes the crutch to all life ailments, it worked.

I sadly GAINED 21 pounds while on Ozempic. I was on 2.5 mg Crazy bad luck/genetics I guess.3

I started GLP1 last August 13. There were fluctuations on my weight. Before I started, I was 54kgs. Then I gained 3 kgs for some reason and lost the 2 kgs during my 2nd week on GLP. My weight is still fluctuating, and I am still on 54kgs. My doctor raised my dose to 0.5mg and I've also incorporated getting 10k steps every day after work at the gym. I'm looking for advice on how to eat healthier while on GLP-1 because I haven't been eating properly (I only eat lunch and maybe a cup of coffee for breakfast and sometimes crackers for dinner) which I assume is not the right way to tackle this path. I want to lose the weight sustainably and I don't want to gain it all back once I stop taking the medication.2

I did Ozempic in 2020, I only used it for 3 months as it caused me to have sulphur gas and it was quite disgusting so I decided to do the journey with diet and exercise. I started at 132KG (291LB), the weight did come off as my cravings disappeared and I trained 5 days a week. Once I got off I continued training and walking 5 days a week, sometimes 7 days a week and training twice a day. The weight fell off and within 12 months I reached my goal weight of 94KG (207LB), its been nearly 4 years since I got off the Ozempic, I have maintained the training regime of 5 days a week, a walk every morning, and cardio to some degree now and then, im currently weighing in at 99KG (218LB) and I have found that is my comfortable weight where I dont struggle to maintain it there and stay looking and feeling healthy. The Ozempic works but once you get a kick start you can achieve your goals without it, just dont let yourself get caught in the trap of thinking you have to eat when you crave something, its just your mind testing your willpower. I've been on it for 3 months and am down 23 lbs. SW 220, not 193 - goal 160 (probably lose to 155 if I can to give a cushion). I have hormonal imbalances that made losing weight really difficult the last 5 years. But this seems to really help with that.
I gained about 40-50 lbs during Covid years through the closed gym and hyperthyroidism and menopause hormone craziness. I tried everything to get this weight back off, and nothing worked - LC, fasting, counting calories, etc. This has actually worked for me.
It's not effortless, there are sacrifices and choices you make - prioritize protein and stay well hydrated are the biggest things. Adding exercise this time around has been difficult - busy life and 2 young kids make it hard, but I am trying. Gym for weight lifting 2-3x/week and walking.
Keeping the weight off seems to be the hard part with this. I am not there yet, but I lost 120lbs 20 years ago and kept it off, before my hormones went crazy, so I am hoping to stay vigilant and maintain my losses once I'm at goal.

Have you tried working out at home? I know its not ideal. If someone had told me I would wake up at 4:30 am to work out in my basement, I would totally laughed my butt off. But now it has become almost a ritual. Get yourself a good home workout routine, and you will be surprised at how much can be accomplished!! Best of luck!3 -

That's good advice! I should look into that. I really loved weight lifting but can not manage to consistently get myself to the gym. It's hot still here and walking would be nice, but I am not up early enough to beat that heat. I will look at a few apps and videos. Thank you!2
