Hello all! My name is Briana and my husband and I are newlyweds. I found this website when searching for ways to better track my food intake and exercise. I am interesting in lose about 10 to 15 pounds before my husband and I start trying to conceive.
I currently weigh 155 pounds which for a person of my size (5 foot 2) is considered overweight. While I would never attempt to justice by weight I have never felt the reading on the scale did justice to my body. I've always been an active person with a large amount of lower body strength. I can press about 300 pounds with my legs and I enjoy working out.
I look forward to using the tools here on this website and reaching my goal of losing a few pounds and/or feeling better and being healthier.

Hi! I had a baby in May 2010 and have lost the baby weight, but would like to lose another 20lbs before TTC baby #2. Feel free to add me!0

I'm also 5'2". I'm trying to lose baby weight from child 1, before trying to conceive child #2. I only had about 10 pounds I wanted to lose, and I've lost 4 pounds as of the three week mark today.
I think we're the best judge of what weight we can be happy at once we get out of the dreaded "overweight" category, the healthy weight range for me always come up 95-135 depending on where I look.
Good luck on your weight loss!0 -

Hi Amber! I had the "overweight" category because I don't really feel that way. I know what the scale says but I also know how I feel when I look in the mirror or put on clothing. I'm mostly concerned about being healthy for baby when the time comes.
Do you mind me asking how much you gained with your first? Any tips and tricks to keep weight gain under control?0 -

I gained somewhere around 37 or so pounds, I can't remember. I only had a 6lb 6oz baby. I ate pretty bad, so I'm trying to do better when I have another. Daughter is almost 10 months old now, and I'd been 10-11 pounds up for most of that time, so I'm finally getting around to getting it off.
I have to be a good example for her when she gets older.0 -
Best wishes! I have slowly been putting weight on since I married in '04 and when we were finally ready to start TTC in '09 I felt like there was no use in trying to lose weight as I'd be putting it on again shortly anyway. Well, it might have been affecting my hormones. It took 6 months to conceive only to mc at 10 weeks, but I had already gained 7 pounds (I remember feeling sick when they weighed me in at 142 and 5'4" - I had been a steady size 6 before I got married)! The specialist seems to think those extra pounds contributed to my low progesterone. I couldn't seem to lose it, though. It took one more year to conceive again and mc'd again at 6 weeks. That's when I finally got serious about losing it (with the help of the myfitnesspal app). I never knew how to count calories and really watch my portions. I love how I feel like my workouts earn me points, a bonus to the energy I feel!
In the last 6-8 weeks I have lost 10 pounds and walah...positive on 1st try after most recent mc. Pray my weight is enough to change my progesterone so that it sticks! Looking forward to a "June Bug"!
Good luck to you in both your fitness goals and your dreams for a family!

Shawna - congrats and best wishes for this new one! I can only imagine how hard it must have been for you but hearing your story makes me know I am doing the right thing by trying to lose a few and get healthier before DH and I start TTC. I pray we won't have trouble getting or staying pregnant but we both know it will be out of our hands.0

Hello, I have been in the same situation. Got married in 04 and put on extra weight, but I am not giving up. You should look into Herbalife it has worked for me. I lost 20lbs. over 6months still have a long way to go. I love herbalife for the vitamins. Flavors are very tasty. You should give it a try. Good luck0

Welcome! One of my (many) reasons for trying to lose weight now is that my significant other and I are talking about having kids sooner than later and while we're not ready to try yet, I have a good 30lbs to lose before I feel comfortable trying. (Women in my family gain a lot of weight while pregnant even eating well!)

Good luck to you as well. I hope we both have good luck on our road to weight loss and also our journey to conceive.0 -
