My new oatmeal breakfast

Typically it's cooking oatmeal with milk, then adding some frozen blueberries 30s from the end. And separately, protein powder in water.

My latest protein powder I opened is MuscleTech cookies and cream, and I wondered what that would be like added to overnight oats. The answer... delicious. It's been a long time since I had one, but it reminds me a little bit of a Dairy Queen Oreo Blizzard. Just a bit. Not saying a blind taste test would confuse anyone.

This is the only thing that hinders my diet. I could never eat this kind of breakfast. Sometimes, I skip breakfast but when I do, I eat tasty and delicious items.

That's 568 calories, good amount of fiber from the oatmeal, the blueberries are anti-inflammatory, 43 grams protein, and ofc zero prep time in the morning. I'll have it after a walk pre-breakfast.

I'm with you! This morning 2 Canadian bacon, tomato and cheese sandwiches on cottage cheese bread. Decaf with 2% milk. 298 calories, almost no fiber, 34 grams protein, and one happy lady.

Typical for me is eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and homemade turkey sausage. Prepped ahead and heated while I make coffee.

Viva la difference. Life would be so boring if we were all exactly alike.
P.s. I've never had a DQ oreo blizzard and I never will have! Lol.

Everybody's different. Personally, I think oatmeal is a tasty and delicious breakfast.

I add different things than Retro does (mixed berries, Greek yogurt, hemp hearts, ground flax seed, cinnamon, molasses, walnuts, peanut butter powder), coffee with lots of hot skim milk on the side.

I don't see how not liking oatmeal, or not liking oatmeal with protein powder, is going to "hinder a diet". As long as we eat food that adds up to appropriate calories and reasonable nutrition over the day, food choices are flexible.

I ate oatmeal most of my life, especially when I was a kid and have had it with milk, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon added raisins and nuts and even added butter, cottage cheese and sour cream, don't ask it was from a girlfriends family tradition of Ukrainian decent. Now of course at 72 it's maintenance going fwd and I just can't allow for much of a glucose spike and even though the spike isn't that bad around 40mg/dl from my CGM it's still too much for my particular health concerns.

Instead for example this morning I consumed 4 poached eggs and some barrata with garden tomato and onion drenched in a particular extra virgin olive oil that I use for cold preparations also some basil and mint and Maldon sea salt and some tellicherry black pepper. :)

I'm a simple man. I can't be bothered with too many ingredients

Yeah, I am totally with you. Everyone is different and we all have our taste buds and then again, I cannot consume which my taste buds doesn't agree with.
