@Beeps2011 Thanks! Hope to improve on it. May I ask, have you been here since 2011?

@Beeps2011 That's a long time! Have you met your goal weight and are now maintaining? Or are you a lose some/regain, hopefully going down in stages?

I met my goal in 2013 and then I have been slowly gaining about 7 lbs a year since 2016. So now I am back in the red. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Beeps2011 Commiserations! I was pretty thin until I hit my 30s, then a combination of slowing metabolism, more reliance on the car and less exercise, comfort eating when depressed, medication that increased my appetite, and that extra lick of peanut butter when making the kids' sandwich gradually put the pounds on. I'm 5' 10" so people kept telling me "Oh, you're tall! You can carry more weight!" It was when I hit 220 lb, which made me clinically obese, I started to diet, using an earlier tracking website called fitday.com I never was one for crash diets - I would just eat 300-400 calories a day less than TDEE, focusing on plant foods and reducing fried and sugary foods - not cutting out anything entirely, but still with occasional overindulgences. I would keep it up for 2-3 months and get down to around 170-180 lb. Then be happy with that and stop tracking, and gradually regain - then I'd get up to around 195 (I haven't been over 200 for 18 years) and start tracking again. This is the longest I've consistently tracked and lost weight - and the lowest I've been since, maybe, my 35th birthday? I'm pretty happy with my weight now - just a few more vanity pounds, but then I know this time I have to keep tracking to maintain.
