I often times fall into the boom or bust side of exercise and then end up doing nothing for days at a time and even quit sometimes periodically. How do you stay in the goldilocks zone when exercising?

Find motivation. You need to find out what your motivation is though. Could be doing something you enjoy doing. Could be trying to improve in anything. Singing up for a competition. Up to you.1

Discipline and habit. I plan on 45+ minutes of exercise 6 days a week, plus dog walking every day. I don't always want to do it, but I make it happen. I'm a runner, but I also hike, ride a bike, do yoga, etc. I have learned that I feel better both physically and mentally if I get some good exercise regularly. That pushes me out the door when I need a push. I always feel better after.1
