    @deepwoodslady Donna, I don’t agree that it is all on you. Your ADULT daughter knows your health issues and should be trying to help you since you are providing a half time home to her and her child. JMHO

    @quiltingjaine You are definitely right that she could keep it away from me better and even stop tempting me, which she does at times. Very very true. But temptations are all around me, everywhere I go and I've got to learn to break this addiction to certain foods. I need to make better choices and always make sure they are best for me. There will always be a Brittany somewhere in my path and it absolutely shouldn't change my goals. But you are right in that the people who care the most for me should help me, not do things that can hurt. Especially when I am not as accomplished as I should be in taking good care of myself. You don't give a drug addict who truly wants to get clean any drugs. I get it and I agree with that.

    10/23 134.0 @5:30am Community Bingo tonight
    10/24 133.5 Amazed since bingo dinner was a 4” section of sub. I pulled out all of the soft bread and ate the crusts with the turkey, roast beef, cheese and tomato. Added 1/2 T mayo. Skipped the potato salad and watermelon. Got up early to make blueberry muffins for the guys who drink coffee at the clubhouse. DH’s suggestion since we are going to drown in sourdough starter “discard.”
    10/25 134.5 I can NOT keep baked goods in the house! They leap into my mouth when I walk by!!! I got over 8 hours sleep last night and I’m dragging. Hope I’m not getting what DH has!
    10/26 134.5 (I think) Got reasonable sleep (7.5 hr) slight headache and my throat feels funny
    10/27 134.5 Slept well last night, my throat is fine. (Thank you, @blueberries59) DH is being good about using his nebulizer and taking meds. He went over to play poker yesterday-an indicator that he is feeling better.

    What an awful night - my hubby was very restless and got up which totally disturbed me and I just could not get back to sleep, so not only losing an hour because the clocks went back in the U.K. I hardly slept at all - completely shattered today, no energy - surely tomorrow will be a better day 🙇🏼‍♀️

    It’s about progress over time, not perfection. As @quiltingjaine said we all fall down in our efforts. Please keep at it. It’s all about the long game and you are worth it.
    Sorry to hear about your crummy night, you get another chance tonight. 😉

    @Rigibann: One of the best things in this group for me has been learning to be kind to myself, and applying that to all aspects of myself, especially the shape of my body. You're working to take better care of yourself, that's what it's about. Stick with us- and with yourself.

    As @Skyleen75 said so perfectly:

    " I am trying to be gentle on myself but also trying to figure out how to move forward without being overly restrictive or too permissive. lol I’m parenting my food addiction!"

    I love this.

    My old WW coach pointed out that between weekends, holidays, birthdays, and work events, etc., more than one third of our days are beyond the ordinary, giving us a reason to celebrate. We must learn how to deal with this and be flexible enough to enjoy these moments in life, yet responsible at the same time. If we remain too rigid and unyielding, denying the social norms of sharing food, we will surely fail in our goals. And yet we must be selective. Holidays and birthdays are generally one single day, not a season. I think our families get mixed messages because they see both sides. And they see our total melt downs. They need guidelines. I told DH he was in charge of Halloween candy. I am strong enough to not buy it in the store, but I might eat the whole bag of candy if I find it in my house unattended. Yes, I will celebrate and share a piece of candy with DGS on Halloween, but I don't want the temptation leading up to that moment. After all, if we were not weak and struggling with the abundance of food in our lives, we'd be at normal weight and not posting on this site. Admitting this to our families, asking for their help, is a sign of our feeble but growing power to improve our lives.

    I have a friend who is quite artistic and does wonderful caricatures. I believe I may have to give her this description and see what she draws.

    I missed a couple days here and had a lot to catch up on!

    @itladyee congrats on the DGS! Beautiful name for a beautiful babe!

    @smoda61 happy belated birthday!

    @blueberries59 That is huge – more than one third! That’s true, I always try to see how many weekends are in a round before I set my goals because I always, always backslide.
