Nice to see you all. I'm Sherry.

I would like to start to string a bunch of days together where I NAILED my nutrition.

What does that mean to me:
    1) Under maint. calories (1700 or less)
    * That means i have to track food ... bummer
    2) Average Protein (100g+)

    That's it.
I'm trying to reprogram my neural pathways... and am about 50%-70% compliant on nutrition.
Being 100% compliant... oh hell, being 85% compliant ... I do believe would bring me where I wanna see my weight be. I'm piddling with the last 4-5#. It would be cool to conquer it.

WHY... because when I start to eat "Ultra processed foods" I get quite an attitude and I overeat and...guilt, shame, etc. you know, you've been there. BUT when I eat on plan. High nutrients. I feel so much joy. My one friend said, "You just keep trying and you'll reprogram your neural pathways". (Who uses those words???) But, yeah, probably. If I keep at it, that means that I keep practicing what works and eventually I get there.

    Strive for 85!

    Tracking:
    🧮 Nailed Calories
    🥩 Nailed Protein
    ❌ Failed

    Update post.
    Starting weight: 210 on 10/12/2024
    Current weight: 206.4

Light exercise due to still being in a sling from surgery, but most likely from being in a calorie deficit. Dropped my calories to 1750 with protein being the main focus. Looking to consume around 170-195g of protein daily. So far seems to working!

That’s a lot of protein. Just curious, do you get enough fiber ? I suppose all of your snacks are protein .

Hi Sherry, I haven't been able to completely reach my protein goal yet. Still trying to change old and create new habits to get there. On average, I have been around 125-150 grams of protein. I'm more focused on my caloric intake as overeating was an issue for me. I've that eating/drinking more protein helps with me feeling full longer as well. MFP has my recommended intake of fiber but I haven't really paid too much attention to that yet.

Up 3 pounds in the last 3 weeks since posting.

Went off the rails for two weeks. Kind of a depressed phase.

Then decided to join WW because long ago I’d had success with it. I gained weight because it felt so restrictive and I followed it for 5 days, lost no weight, said F this, this isn’t sustainable and rebounded big time. Total binging.

So here I am again. Posting on the thread I created for accountability and encouragement.

I know I need to set small goals to start habits. It’s hard for me not to think that I unintentionally lost a lot of weight when I wasn’t in the classroom but was teaching from home. It was so much less stressful. I am considering the multifaceted negative effects that teaching now has on my heart, mind, and body. I am good at it. It has been my only career, but it is taking a toll on my health.

Not sure if it can take all of the credit, but it’s so frustrating to be trying to lose this 20 pounds for years and not being able to get.

I’d even be happy with 10 at this point.

Obviously I need to do something different. But I’m here. And I won’t give up on myself.

That's awesome that you're holding yourself accountable! It’s great that you're sticking to a plan and sharing your progress. I find that a little humor can help with motivation, too. If you ever need a laugh, check out some funny fat jokes to brighten your day https://allfunnypuns.com/fat-jokes-and-puns/. Best of luck, you’ve got this!

I fell off too. Seems we stop posting here when we go off plan...which is when we need it most. Im gonna try to continue weekly weigh ins no matter how bad it is.

This is great! I want in please. I lost 100 lbs dating back to March of 2023 but I have since gained about 25lbs. I need to get back in grind mode and be held accountable. I am 218 as of today. I will check back in a week. Thank you everyone and best of luck to all of us trying to drop weight. You got this!

I didnt weigh today. Last time i was like 187. So a good bit gained back from my recent lowest.

This week eating has been awful. Lots of.fast food, junk grazing, chocolates. Im not even going to try until after the holidays. I dont want to feel bad for failing when i inevitably will. But.im determined to start the new year off right. I will lose this weight this year.

Didnt weigh again this week. 🫣
But after this week im going back to it. No excuses.

    To start:

Going to cut my daily vending machine munchies at work.

At least 5 minutes of mindful movement. With the intent to add 5 minutes weekly.

    Hit my protein goal daily.

Hello, May I join here? I am 63 year female and have a thyroid condition. I was hovering around 138 pounds for months.
I managed to loose 10 lbs since summer.
What has worked is consistent workouts 5 times a week, 3 balanced meals a day, no food after 6 PM.
I do mealplanning for 2-3 days ahead. This really helps to stay on plan and saves money as I buy only what I need for my mealplan.

I eat No snacks between meals to let the body digest the meals completely.

I found that a couple of sips low carb chocolate protein shake after dinner are a good way to calm sugar/dessert cravings
Or a cup of hot fruit tea helps,
or a decaf coffee with pumpkin spice,
or just say no to everything and go to bed early

It is way more difficult to loose weight now, than it was 20 years ago. That’s for sure.
Hope everyone has a good start in the next week. We can do this !!!!
