@fabgeekmom I always like how consistent you are most of the time

@trooworld I think walking is movement and even no matter how slow it is it is good for mobility purposes. I'm getting to the age that I think about that more and more. Since body aches keep switching places. lol First a foot then a hip then the other hip. I think that photography class sounds fun.

    @cbabie How was PT?

I had a slight whoosh on the scale today so I hope it stays. I've been around the same weight for 5 weeks. It wasn't much but my trending weight went down so I was thrilled about that. I'm leaving my daughters house on Friday and will head to Chicago for the weekend to meet up with some friends. So I'll spend the next couple of days cleaning so I can leave the place better than I found it.

@fabgeekmom Thank you, it should be fun! Pulled chicken sounds yummy with the sides.

@theslightedgeforever That's a good point. lol yeah I know those aches and pains, too. The photography thing is a club, not a class, but I'm sure to get some tips from the other members. I also signed up to go to the mountains and shoot with them in a few weeks. Yay for a whoosh! I hope you have fun in Chicago and that your house is as clean when you get back as when you left lol. It wouldn't be for me, my husband would trash it!

Hi all. Not much going on today. Just trying to make it to Friday lol. We had air-fried chicken strips for dinner with these potato things from Sam's Club. It was easy and good.

@theslightedgeforever Chicago is a fun city to visit. I know about body aches. But I keep going. That’s great news about the weight loss. @trooworld You do such fun things. Your dinner sounded good. Hi, all. Today is a swim day. PT for DH. Dinner will be last night’s leftovers.

LOL I forgot to hit send yesterday....

I am here guys, just hurting today after therapy yesterday. ugh then I have to do all those muscle killers again today...and go back tomorrow for them to make sure I do it. LOL. Hey, but at least I am moving and doing something. Gotta say yes to that.

Now I just got back from day 2 of therapy...I am sure it will be good in the end.

@fabgeekmom So glad your DH is doing so well.. I agree with theslightedgeforever....your consistency is awesome.

@trooworld You got this surgery. You have been preparing and will be prepared when the time is due. I think its great you are joining up with the photography clubs...yes you can learn while observing. You always have such detailed photos!!

@theslightedgeforever Great job on the swish!!! Next time your daughter comes to visit you tell. her you left her place clean she can leave your place clean too..LOL. I am sure she does already. I just like to jest with her. LOL.

@trooworld Refresh my mind. What is Friday?

@fabgeekmom Dinner for me tonight was corn leek potato chowder. Dd wanted it so I can freeze the leftovers for her. I made her some meatloaf last night.

@cbabie Remember that our father didn't do his therapy like he should have and ended up with a knee that didn't work right. Don't be him.

Ate within my calories and got on the treadmill for 15 min to finish out my step goal.

@fabgeekmom Thank you, I try! I hope you enjoyed the swim and dinner.

@cbabie lol...that happens sometimes, doesn't it? Sorry you are hurting, that seems to happen at first when you start PT. I'm glad you are moving. Thank you, I am getting nervous and anxious but I am trying to get prepared. Thank you!

@theslightedgeforever lol...my work-from-home day! :D Nothing else. I have no plans. It's just when my weekend starts (unofficially). ;) Good job yesterday.

HI all. We had Sam's Club chicken enchiladas last night, they were really good. My husband made refried black beans with them. Nice and easy meal. I need to try to sell my walking pad, I'm not going to use it (that's obvious) and it's just taking up space. I really regret getting it. I thought I could make myself use it but I realized I'm more of an outdoor exerciser. I HAVE been getting in my steps on the weekends and while at work. On the weekends, running around with my husband walking in our favorite neighborhoods.

@theslightedgeforever That’s a good idea to freeze leftovers for later. Good job on the treadmill and being within calories. @trooworld The meal sounded good. I agree about not walking on the walking pad. I enjoy walking outside, too. Actually many years ago when I had PT for my knees, the therapist told me not to walk on the treadmill, that it’s better to walk at one’s normal pace. Hi, all. I went grocery shopping this morning. Christmas music was playing. It’s that time of year! I made turkey chili from the Skinnytaste Simple cookbook for dinner. It was good and easy to prepare.

@fabgeekmom It was good. That's good to hear about walking outside vs a treadmill. I can't believe it's almost Christmas already! It is definitely chili season, I am glad you liked it.

Hi all. Friday is here, thankfully. I work from home and then I have physical therapy (hopefully the last appt). After that, I have a hair appointment. We may go to Sam's Club after that.

@fabgeekmom Yes, I can only work from home on Fridays (and in an occasional emergency) but I enjoy it. Good job with the swim!

Hi all. I don't have to go to physical therapy anymore which is a relief. We didn't go to Sam's Club last night but will go by the end of the weekend. This morning, I am going with my photography club to the beaches and shoot people and things. It should be fun. My MIL and SIL are taking us out for lunch today, we are going to a popular Mexican restaurant. I'm cooking tonight, I'm making Chicken with Coconut Kale, which has chicken breast and kale in a red curry sauce.

@trooworld You have a lot of fun things going on. It sounds like a good start to the weekend. Hi, all. It’s cooler here and my walk was a bit chilly but nice. I’m cooking tonight for family dinner. I’m using a Skinnytaste recipe for pork chops with Dijon herb sauce and roasting some butternut squash. Also wild rice. One of my neighbors gave me an Asian pear, and I’m going to slice it so we all can have a taste.

@fabgeekmom Thank you! Your dinner sounds yummy. How did you like the Asian pear? I find them nice but they are hardly sweet at all, at least around here.

Hi all. Well, we didn't go to lunch but I did go to my photography event. I didn't cook dinner, we were out and about. We also went to see one of my DH's coworker's bands play. During the photography event, my knee started aching really badly but I had no choice to keep walking. I tried to stick it out but ended up turning around and leaving the group behind. I still got a lot of good shots and had fun. Here's a collage of some of my shots.

@trooworld The Asian pear was really good-sweet and juicy. I saw my neighbor and thanked her. She said she got it at a Korean market. The pictures were really nice. That’s too bad about your knee. Hi, all. I walked outside and it was really nice. Not windy and almost springlike. DD is coming over and preparing salmon for dinner. I’m done exercising and will relax the rest of the day.

@fabgeekmom Oh good. Thank you. I'm glad you had good weather for your walk, good job. I hope you enjoyed the salmon.

    @cbabie How are you doing?

@theslightedgeforever I hope you are enjoying your trip.

Hi all. Yesterday I did some errands but other than that, I stayed home. My knee is still bothering me. I will need to let my doctor know, the next step is to get another type of injection but I am guessing that will have to wait until after my surgery. I made creamy chicken noodle soup for dinner and it was really good.

@trooworld The creamy chicken soup sounds good. It’s frustrating having knee pain. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. DH had PT and is professing. Dinner was baked chicken breast, polenta and collards. I overcooked the chicken and it was dry. I may be able to use leftovers on a sandwich.
  • trooworld
    trooworld Posts: 6,776 Member
@fabgeekmom It was. Yes, I am very frustrated. There are things I want to do or participate in and I cannot. Good job with the swim. That's good your DH is doing better. That's a good idea to use the leftover chicken on a sandwich.

Hi all. I was so tired at work yesterday, I just wanted to go home (but I didn't). I can't wait to get my sleep apnea mask and see if that helps me sleep better. I hope it does. I contacted my doctor about my knee but she was out for a few days. Someone in her office responded I should wait until after my surgery before we do anything about my knee. So, I will hobble on.

@trooworld You’ve got a lot going on and all I can say is, keep on keeping on. After surgery you’ll be able to do something about your knee and possibly, hopefully, from losing weight, you will have less pain. Hi, all. I went grocery shopping after breakfast and even though I hate to exercise in the afternoon, I rode my bike after lunch. Tonight is family dinner and I’m making 2 Skinnytaste recipes: giant meatball Parmesan and instant pot mashed potatoes. Plus we have collards from last night.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on here. I have either had sick kids or have been really sick myself. You add Dr appointments, Physical Therapy, school...I think I am over the hump now. Therapy is going well, I am glad I am doing it. Trying to eat better too, cook again since I don't feel like I am dying anymore. LOL...

I haven't read all the post, but wanted to post a couple of comments.

@trooworld So sorry about your knee. I know it stinks to have to wait...ice works wonders and I am learning that some of the stretching exercises are helping. I love your pictures...thanks for sharing those.

@fabgeekmom Glad to see you are moving your body..I laughed I don't like exercising in the afternoon either..but you did it. Great job. You meals sound delicious. I might look up that giant meatball Parmesan. sounds YUMMY!!

@fabgeekmom I hope so. That's good you exercised in the afternoon even though you hate to, good job! That sounds like a good dinner.

@cbabie Oh my, that sounds hectic and I'm sorry you guys have been sick. I'm glad therapy is going well. Thank you. I do ice, it temporarily takes pain away but as soon as I take it off, the pain comes back. But I do apply ice and heat and am thankful it helps! Stretching I haven't really tried. Thank you, I appreciate that!

Hi all. I woke up at 3:30 this morning and since I usually wake up at 4, I just decided to stay up rather than fight myself to fall asleep again. For dinner, since my stomach was kind of upset, I had some more of that chicken noodle soup that I made the other night. It's really good. I think I'm experiencing some mild depression right now. I don't want to be around people at work and just want to be left alone.

I am jumping on here before therapy, had to take baby boy for a walk, so trying to rest my leg before therapy..LOL. I have gained weight since this leg thing, so hopefully now I can take those short walks and the therapy will get me going the other way. LOL

@trooworld So sorry you feeling the leave me alones...me and my daughters get those a lot. therapy is trying to build the muscles around my knee to make it not put the strain on my part that hurts...

@cbabie Sorry you have had so much sickness in your family. Those doctors’ appointments can wear a person out. I’m glad therapy is helping and you are able to go on short walks. @trooworld Sorry you are depressed. Chicken soup is good when you don’t feel well. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. I went to Sam’s Club after lunch and got enough to last me until the end of the month. I think I will start going monthly as it wears me out to walk around the club. Dinner tonight was another Skinnytaste recipe: one pot sausage with orzo and corn. It was very easy to make and there were no leftovers.

@cbabie I'm sorry about the weight gain. You will turn it around. Thanks, I think it's a combination of things causing it. Sorry you get it, too. I hope the therapy helps you.

@fabgeekmom Thank you. Yes, I love chicken soup. Good job with the swim. That's a good idea to go to Sam's Club monthly instead of more often. I'm glad you had a good dinner.

Hi all. A coworker gave me a pre-surgery gift, a pair of earrings with an array of iridescent butterflies on them. I wore them yesterday, they are very happy earrings. I'm still depressed. Still not sleeping well and still waiting on my CPAP machine to ship. That's about it for me.

Morning all, yesterday seemed like a very long day. LOL. Therapy was good, but I didn't do any exercising after that..it always seems to hit me at night after therapy. I do believe it is helping me. I am going to try to get on my new bike today. Not anything extreme or even light. I want to go slow and make sure not to put me backwards. I am not sure what we are having for dinner, but I am craving chicken...so just need to go figure it out.

@fabgeekmom thank you, Yes I go to sams one time a month, but I order online. LOL. I just hate stores after covid. I go only when I have to. Good for you for swim day. I can't eat sausage, gives me heart burn. but these days....almost anything does. :)

@trooworld So sorry you are still down. You have a lot on you right now. Lots of emotions. I could see those butterfly earrings in my mind. However, I could also see you fluttering around while they reflected the light...You bring about joy. I know you don't feel it right now, but you seem to always reflect light!

@trooworld Sorry about the depression. Your coworker was really thoughtful to give you the earrings. @cbabie The sausage was turkey sausage. I don’t eat pork sausage. I’m glad you got a bike. I love mine. Hi, all. I rode my bike this morning. It’s cold and cloudy today. I went grocery shopping and got my turkey for Christmas plus some other stuff. The turkeys are always on sale in November. Dinner tonight is air fried shrimp, sautéd yellow squash and wild rice.

@cbabie I'm glad the therapy is helping you. Yay for a new bike! Is it a stationary bike or an outdoor bike? Thank you. Yeah, lots of emotions and moods lol. Awww, thank you! That is so sweet of you. <3

@fabgeekmom Thank you. Yes, I was totally surprised by the gift! It was really thoughtful and the earrings are totally "ME", she gets me. Good job on the bike! Good idea to get the turkey now if you have room.

Hi all. Yay for Friday! I work from home today so I don't have to interact with anyone I don't choose to lol. I got a notice that my CPAP machine shipped and will be here Tuesday at the latest. I am making mushroom and cheese ravioli in a cream sauce tonight for dinner. It will be nice and easy.

Morning all, It's been a crazy week. Today bone density test, then taking baby girl to Dr..would love to get my nails done, but probably no time. I have a thing tonight where I get to go count blankets and sort by size. We are crocheting blankets for foster kids. We need to see how many more we need. LOL I haven't been on my bike yet, want to do that sometime today. I had Therapy and my leg always hurts afterwards. However, I am seeing mobility improving.

@trooworld Yea for working at home. I think that's the only type of job I would want today. LOL. Glad you heard about the CPAP machine. I am sure that will help you. It's important to get rest. Our boby needs it. I would say your dinner sounds yummy, but I am not a fan of mushrooms..LOL

@fabgeekmom Funny I was just thinking about what we would have for our Christmas dinner. Most folks in my family want ham..(which I don't eat). It sounds like we are grilling out for Thanksgiving, so who knows what kind of holiday food I will have. Its sunny and COLD here. I will take it over the heat we have been having. Nice to have a change of clothes.LOL

@cbabie Wow, what a week! That's really nice that you are crocheting blankets for kids. Yay for improved mobility! Yeah, I wish I could work from home more than one day a week. During the pandemic, at the beginning, every day I was working from home. It was nice. Yeah I'm looking forward to better sleep, I hope that happens. No mushrooms? LOL I love them but they give me gas lol.

Hi all. I posted my walking pad on Facebook Marketplace and it sold a few hours later. We have to deliver it though, it's for a senior that needs exercise. She lives on the second floor so that should be fun lol. But I'm glad I sold it and that it's going to a good home. I let her have it for half of what I paid. But that's the going rate nowadays for a lightly used one. I found out one of the medications I take is likely the cause of the spending issues that I have: they found out 5 years ago that it causes shopping addiction. I can't get off this medication but my doctor is adding in a medication to counter the effect. BUT...I am not going to start it until after my surgery.

@cbabie I’m glad that you are having better mobility. And that’s such a good deed to crochet blankets for foster kids. At Thanksgiving and Christmas we have the same menu. There’s comfort in the same old. @trooworld That’s good that you can work from home, and that you sold the walking pad. I hope the new medication will help with the shopping addiction. That must be a hard addiction to overcome, especially when it’s so easy to buy stuff online. Hi, all. I forgot to post yesterday. I meant to post after dinner, but DH and I watched something on Brit Box. Yesterday was swim day and steak night. DS grilled the steaks and they were yummy. Today I’m exercising indoors. We’re eating out tonight at our favorite Mediterranean restaurant.

    Hi all!

Sorry been MIA. This class has been taking up a lot of my time and with my Bichons diabetes and now they found 3 nodules in her lungs. Just has been a month. Glad it’s going to be the holiday season soon. I’ll have to tell my advisor to avoid taking a course during this time. Just too busy with work picking up and family. I did take some time for me and went on a weekend retreat with some of the ladies from my church. It was a nice weekend! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

@fabgeekmom Thank you. Yes, I think it might be but hopefully the med will help. I wondered where you were yesterday! Good job with the exercise! I hope you enjoyed dinner out.

@gemwolf110 I'm sorry about your pup and your busy period. I'm glad you took some time to relax.

Hi all. Well, the lady who bought the walking pad messaged me and said she changed her mind. So...it's still for sale. I did my usual Saturday thing: went for groceries and also coffee with my husband. I am from Ohio originally and Cincinnati chili is near and dear to my heart so I made a batch of that to eat tonight for dinner.
