I’m back! Have used this site before but I want to use this now as a tool to help me stay on track. I’m older and some wiser. Looking to exercise more and get healthier. Trying to stay off of medication.

Best of luck to you @Kehrlimom, I too am returning after a long hiatus. My weight has been slowly creeping up, but more importantly, my cholesterol levels have been elevated as well. I cannot take statins and my insurance company refused to authorize Repatha, so I am forced to control it with diet and exercise. 27 days in and my cholesterol levels have dropped over 20 points, which is quite encouraging.6

I'm also starting back to using MFP. I lost 32 lbs 4 years ago and have gained 12 back. Time to get serious. I was feeling so good when I was tracking food and regularly exercising. I just have to remember that feeling and get to work!0

I am also returning. I used to be good about tracking my food, exercising, etc. In March 2020 I was diagnosed with a rare stage 4 cancer in my GI tract. I've had to change my diet for the worse. The healthiest foods are the most problematic (between the chemo and cancer), so I eat what I best tolerate, which is unhealthy carbs (I was told to keep heavy carbs in my stomach to avoid nausea). I've gained 50 lbs since my diagnosis. My biggest physical complaint is severe arthritis and osteoarthritis, which I have difficulty managing because I can't take NSAID's or Tylenol. Exercise is difficult with the arthritis, and I'm limited to cardio (my tumors can rupture, so strength training and core exercises are discouraged). The osteoarthritis on the tops of my feet is brutal, so walking is difficult. I know getting weight off would help with the arthritis, as would eliminating bad carbs and sugar from my diet. I can't go gung ho like everyone else on here, but I feel like if I at least track my foods it will help me to be accountable and maybe start making changes, slowly, that will help. Best of luck to the rest of you boomerangs (returners!).1
