Quite off his own bat, John announced after lunch that he was going upstairs to sort out the cupboard! He produced a whole bin bag of trash, one sweater to donate, and the whole thing looks sooooooo much better! Also spare hangers. I have kept a couple of the big ones, but will take the rest to the charity shop. I think he was inspired by me trashing my cardigan after all this time. I told you he would get round to it!
Lisa, many good thoughts on the craft fairs. Your stuff was great.
Nice chat with L. And with G earlier. G was off to have a roast dinner at her favourite art gallery as a treat to herself. Bravo!

Lanette thanks for the #1 exercise link. Coach Ken calls these “hip hinges” and they’re a big part of his BB&B routine. Will watch Shrey Vazirs other videos, especially the one about knees.
Rebecca “Pepperidge Farm peppermintified bark cookies” Thanks a lot. ;}
Lisa “…do what I choose, not a whole lot of what I hope a lot of other people want.
And that I still don't like talking to that many people and being cheerful for six straight hours” Good reminders. ((hugs))
Debbie sounds like it was a good show. Hope your DH was reassured about his mother.
Today’s gratitude: rain held off, mostly, for dog group.
Decluttering challenge Day 42/30 Recipe box42-While looking for my fruitcake recipe (really?!?) I pulled 5 recipes that were duplicates (fudge) or things I don’t make. The “F”s are done… :laugh:Later, lighter, lovelies!

Lisa ~ The photo of your booth looks great! I'm sorry you were disappointed in the sale but know your family will love the gifts you send.
Debbie ~ Congrats on your sale. Hope your DH was able to find his mom OK but wonder if she deliberately did not answer the phone because y'all were away.
Rebecca ~ Love the doll outfits! Athena will be delighted.
Lanette ~ I tried that exercise shown in the video. I could actually feel my lower back loosening and will try doing it more. I watched until the guy was doing it so quickly and with no effort. Know I will never get there but hope doing it gently will help.

I think so! I had told Athena over the summer about the magical bottles I had as a kid, where the milk disappears! They still make them, so they bought one for her.💖. She also has a really small pack & play playpen thing. It was so funny when she had brought out her baby, and I'm like where are her clothes!?? She's like nah she doesn't have any. We looked thru different sets together and choose one she liked, on my tablet. Then I sent the link to husband saying, "we need to buy this for Athena's doll".

Lisa - sorry the craft show didn't go well. You had so many nice items! I was talking to a neighbor who is a quilter, makes a lot of cute fabric things. She has had a booth at several shows so far, the only one where she did well was at a large well-attended church and it was juried so there weren't a dozen booths with only potholders, lol. Maybe the location and advertising had something to do with it too.
Debbie - glad you did well at your show. Nice you were able to reconnect with friends! Were you folks ever able to get someone to stay/help with MIL? You might have posted and I skipped through. Happens a lot on some days.
Vicki - you've been on my mind a lot. Hoping some avenues are working out for you.
Heather - sorry to hear about the chocolate, of all things. Good job John!
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Reminder about the Weekly Check-In.

Weighed today. Well good news is that I am consistant. I have been the same weight for about 5 months now. 241. Before that I was 255 so I am ok that I am slowly going down. In the scheme of life, I am not worried. I have been an obese fairly fit woman all my life. The goal of losing weight isn't my mission. And I know if I was suddenly losing lots of weight, it would put my body in a panic. The foods I eat are a mixture of healthy foods with a splattering of crappy foods. I do know if I eat crappy, I feel crappy. If I ate a big steak, I would be miserable. So its nice to know my limits, and the foods that just make my belly feel so good. Hey if I can't get this eating thing right at 62, then there's something definitely wrong.🙄😂

Did the Abs Diet Ab Workout DVD then Mari Windsor Fat Burning Pilates DVD. Didn’t take my walk around the neighborhood --- maybe later I’ll ride the recumbent bike downstairs. Then went to WalMart.
Made the cornbread muffins for Thanksgiving and put them in the freezer. We put up the arches for christmas yesterday and today we decided which inflatables will go out this year. We actually threw away three inflatables that didn’t work so now we have more room for blowmolds...lol Somehow, Vince just didn’t agree with me….lol
Heather – doesn’t it feel good to get rid of things? Good for you
Lanette and Allie – have a question for you regarding the PF night splint. I’m more and more leaning towards getting one but I have one question that I haven’t seen addressed in any of the reviews. I get up sometimes multiple times/night to go to the bathroom. Can you walk in this and how does it feel when you do. How easy is it to take off and put back on in the dark?
Rebecca – I like your way of looking at food/weight loss. Ever since I turned – oh, about 65 – I can’t seem to get blow 135. Previously I would be in the upper 120’s. And it seems that no matter what I do, what exercise I do, how much I watch what I eat. I just can’t seem to lose the flab in my belly. I do feel that I, too, for the most part eat healthy. Yes, there is a smattering of not-so-healthy food like fudge or a cookie. I’m now getting to the point that there’s nothing I can do it seems, so I’m more and more accepting myself. If someone doesn’t like what they see, they can look away. Previously, when I’d see myself in a mirror like at the Y, I didn’t like the look of a “tummy”. Now I just say “I’m happy with my body and if someone doesn’t like it, they don’t have to look”
Oh, the other day A at BK gave me some of their Impossible Burgers. They were going to throw them out. I know they weren’t out of date, but they were probably close to their expiration date. I don’t think this is such a big thing since they’ve been frozen. But they don’t want anything near expiration date. So now I have about 10 Impossible Burgers. Maybe I’ll try making baked ziti for Vince and using ½ hamburger and ½ IB. Bet he won’t be able to tell the difference. I may even use ¼ ground beef and ¾ IB. They do taste pretty much like hamburger.

Michele - I think it's Tracey that uses the night splint. I probably should do something but haven't yet. Like maybe tape my toes!

thank you.
This time, it wasn't MIL's fault. There is something wrong with the phone line- lots of static, rings once then disconnects. He did go over last night and then this morning and she was actually ok. First time she hasn't caused a big fight the day after he does a show and doesn't go over to her house twice each day.
We will see how she is tonight and tomorrow.3 -

I'm digging out from the chaos we brought back from the show and tossed into my craft room because I was too tired and disheartened to deal last night. Pretty much done, though... four shipping boxes filled, three to my daughter and grandkids, and one to my best friend. Plus the trunk is full of stuff to donate.

Debbie - Congratulations on making some money at yours. You do the thing I won't do, which is drive to where the customers are. Still not up to that.
Regarding my most recent obsession, it's a learning curve - and curves have valleys as well as peaks. I'm genuinely OK today - but it really is a reminder that even though I'm doing a lot better, I still don't react well to.... well, to anything when I'm tired. When I'm rested, I can deal with most anything. Helped to talk it through with a good friend last night while Corey was chilling in the bathtub.
Time to make me some breakfast...
Happy Sunday, y'all, whether past, present or still to come,
Love,
Lisa in AR
The big reason we drove an hour to do that show is because the table fee was low- at just $35 but mainly because I was really hoping to see many friends and then go see my mom. If dh hadn't gone with me, I would have spent the night with her and got a lot more time with her.
The same thing with the one next month. 15min further away, in my home town. A lot bigger show(at the Senior Living- they line all the halls with vendors. They aren't charging anything this year as far as I know- I will be contacting the lady to double check. If dh doesn't want to go, I can do it by myself- just need to learn how to use the Square to take credit card payments.
I will be at mom's in two weeks for our candy making weekend. I have already told her I am not going to make as much. The past two years were totally exhausting. She was too tired and napped most of the time on Saturday until I was too tried to do anymore then she went to church in the morning Sunday while I did more. I ended up doing all of it for both of us by myself. I won't be making 20 kinds of fudge. Maybe four. Will make lots of caramel corn and cracker toffee- Those are easy, cheap and make big batches, plus everyone loves them.
We couldn't put everything out because we just had about 6ft space.

Many people in my life, friends and or family didn't get a chance to grow old. I feel a certain responsibility to take my age, my state of health, with a heavy dose of thankfulness. I am sure your weight of 135 is my body's pipe dream😂😁. I am just tired of trying to lose weight so I make sense in this world. I make sense to me, and that really all that matters.💖👍🏼

Question. So I will be down at sisters during Thanksgiving. Husband already has had a big feast so he said he was going to do a turkey open faced sandwich with mashed potatoes. I was chatting with my island friend in Messenger about it, and she said she would bring over a plate for him. I told husband and he was like, "I might not open the door". Now if it was me, I would take the plate, say thank you etc. So this next week my friend and I are meeting up for lunch. I had already messaged her in messenger that she need not, and that it was a nice gesture. She answered that he ate her Thanksgiving food before, when we were invited to their house for Thanksgiving. Husband ate everything but it was out of politeness. Just an awkward situation. Your thoughts on this situation.

Michelle- it is a Velcro strap and i took it off when I went to pee and put it back on..but the frozen water bottle worked like a charm..
Kyle did laundry and forgot that the dryer wasn't working,so he brought the wash over after it was washed, did the drying and folding and he came back and picked up..

no we still haven't found anyone- she hasn't demanded it lately(doesn't really need it, just wants someone there to complain to). She did totally fine all on her own for the full day- Even bragged about getting her meals and snacks by herself, etc.2 -
Rebecca – I would tell Lee to do as you would do, take the food, say “thank you” and be done with it. It’s never a good idea to hurt someone’s feelings, you never know when you’ll need them
Allie – so I take it it wasn’t hard to put back on in the dark? I just remembered that I have an empty water bottle so I’m going to put some water in it, put it in the freezer, and I think what I’ll probably do is use it while I’m here. No sense wasting time….lol

Lisa yes to what Barbie said about your joy in the making. YES about exhaustion and handling stuff. Glad you could talk it through with your friend.
Heather hooray for Johnny decluttering that cupboard. Brava to you for letting him get to it in his own time.
Rebecca the condition of Athena’s baby doll made me think of your clothing optional days
Debbie praying MIL not causing a big fight is the start of a trend. Four instead of twenty different kinds of fudge sounds just about right.
Pip may I borrow your boot tomorrow morning? Will need it to get myself out to BB&B class and line dancing. Weather forecast for Wednesday doesn’t bode well for traveling to town.

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Vicki hugs to you in your job search!
My sister is coming late today, so I have a few extra tasks and some grocery shopping to do. I need to remember to get the coffee maker out and buy creamer. Etc. lots of busy work.
Dad has a sing along performance on Wednesday. I need to know what he should wear, and how to get my sister there.
Dad went to bed at six last night. I'm hoping he doesn't start to mix up nights and days. He did seem to sleep through the night.
Have a marvelous day! May you all be happy, healthy, safe, and free!

Ladies, thank you for your concern. I was put into a medically induced coma because of a really bad asthma attack that resulted in total respiratory and kidney failure. I went in on Christmas Day. They woke me up around the end of January. Because of the many steroids and other mind-altering drugs they used while I was intubated, I had a month long hallucination. I went to rehab for 2 weeks and came home walking with the aid of a rollator. Because I was in the coma so long, I lost most of my muscle strength. My back could not support my body so I had a lot of work to do to be able to walk. I also lost a couple of months of memory. The doctor at one point in rehab said “You realize you lost your mind and we helped you do that.” So, I had detox for the drugs, physical therapy for my body, and mental therapy for my mind.
DH believes that I’m allergic to Christmas fragrances including the tree fragrance. I am allergic to most fragrances, but I think the holiday season is just especially full of wonderful smells. One thing I had never experienced was PTSD from being in critical care and on the steroids. I was angry all the time. Thank goodness my doctor noted my changed attitude and gave me some educational material and medication.
All said and done, I now feel physically and mentally better than I had in a long time.12 -

Its been years for me, as I live in a colder climate and this house doesn't retain heat worth a darn. As I age, heat is really going to be an issue. Or will make me very grumpy!🙄😁

I gave the yard hopefully a last mow for the year and my son's yard one last mow. I have started Christmas decorating early. I have most of the indoor done and did the outside over the weekend because it will turn cooler and wet later this week. I have a little shopping left, getting the tree up and decorated, Christmas letter, and presents off to my niece, and order flowers for Brother and sister-in-law.
Still able to cut some small roses...these are one of the few flowering plants left for the season...

Yeah, I need to be jokeful, and light hearted about it, and just say, don't bring anything over because he is mean and grumpy and won't answer the gosh darn door. It will be a wasted trip for you! We are going to the ramen restaurant on Thursday so I will bring it up then. Most of our meals theres laughing, so hard you just can't stop. Usually its something silly I have said. So we are therapy for each other. 😁💖
